Xperia arc’s Exmor R shows its worth in night shootSony Ericsson’s Xperia arc is armed with the 8.1MP Exmor R camera sensor. This back-illuminated CMOS sensor allows light directed onto the silicon from behind, which in theory should lead to enhanced low-level shooting.

To put this to the test, pestaola.gr shot a night video in HD whilst on the move in a taxi. The quality is very impressive with both lights and detail visible, although there is an element of noise that is probably largely unavoidable in a mobile. Check out the video after the jump.

  • To be honest I expected much more from Exmor R. This is how they originally presented it http://goo.gl/5fQcq and what I see above is a completely different thing.

I think I problem is there is nothing to compare it against so we can see the difference. they should of shot 2 videos at the same time with 2 different camera’s

I’m very impressed. Didn’t think it would work as well as it does.
