New Sony MT25i pops up in benchmark

A new Sony Xperia model has appeared in the AnTuTu benchmark. The listing for the Sony MT25i doesn’t reveal too much, it shows the phone will have a 1GHz processor, 341MB RAM and is currently running Android 2.3.4. Judging by the model name, this is likely to be a low to mid-range handset sitting behind the MT27i ‘Pepper’ (if that phone ever sees the light of day). There’s little else we know for now, but we’ll bring you more details as we have them.

there is no successor… or do you see ANY similarities to the previous devices? I don’t…

there is still a Low-Budget device missing in Mid-Size sector and reverring to the M it could also be a 3.5″ or 3.3″ screen and referring to the 5 in the end it could have lower specs than Pepper… or it has the same specs like pepper and is just smaller… could be an 150€ phone like the X8 more than one year ago

Anyway, I meant a spiritual sucessor, not a direct sucessor.

See, Xperia S have the bigger screen (same as Arc) and is the flagship.

Xperia P have some other gimmicks and have a relative smaller screen (same as Neo) and it’s the second announced phone.

Xperia U have a even smaller display (not too small to be a Xperia NXT Mini), and different gimmicks (isn’t the third announced, tought).

it is Probably the Tapioca (Xperia Mini) if we see another phone with the same specs then that phone is probably the Tapioca_Ds (Xperia mini pro)

hmm i understand what you mean but i really think this year Sony will go a completely new way with a new kind of product line… last year the devices where still too different in design but all the same hardware… but nobody out there (perhaps 5% of the users) cares about hardware…

this time on the first look you can say: THIS is an XPERIA!

this year it will be more easy than aver for normal users to deside what they want…

big, medium or small
highend, business or cheap
Multimedia, connected or fun…

we have to wait for summer and the next wave of announcements to have a clearer view what sony plans

Oh, if 341MB RAM is real, 2011 Xperia entry-level phones are sooooooooooo better than this!

if they will stick on their codenaming as you suggest, then it has to be bigger than 3.3 or even 3.5″ since ST25 (Xperia U) is still 3.5″. Also LT22 (Xperia P) has 4″ so there is not much room for designing a MTxx
