Sony to release LTE smartphone in Korea in June (not the Xperia ion)

Sony Mobile will release a new LTE smartphone in Korea this June according to a report from MT.co.kr. The article suggests that this phone will not be the Sony Xperia ion that was announced at CES earlier this year. Korea has one of the most developed LTE markets in the world along with Japan and the United States.

As things stand, this new model may be related to the Sony LT29i Hayabusa, for which a benchmark appeared recently. This handset is expected to have a +4-inch display with 720 x 1196 resolution implying no hard/capacitive buttons. It is also expected to be running the 1.5GHz dual-core S4 Snapdragon MSM8960 chipset from Qualcomm.

Every time I decide to buy Sony Xperia handset, New like this stall me. We all know that the Xperia is not the flag ship for this year, especially that it does not have lte or a dock… Hayabusa or mint if they are not tablets would be it.

I know the feeling.. but you can wait just a couple of months and another phone comes out witch is better.. so personally i’m gonna buy the Xperia S next week..

Technology moves fast and if you try to keep up its gonna cost an arm and a leg. So far all the handsets which come after the March April big dealers are only slightly better (xperia Arc S). So Xperia S might not be the absolute best but it should be up there for this year.

Seems to be a nice phone.

I believe that someone forgot that Sweden had worlds first LTE network and coverage in most major cities
allowing bandwidth up to 80Mbit/sec (for real).

This is different from non-developed US supporting glance days around 15Mbit (half of Swedens 3G).
But Sweden is small.

maybe we should wait for the global version of Acro! Regardless the lack of transparent strip, it seems to have flagship specs, or if you can buy it online from japenese market, it works on various Band frequencies

the LT30p? does that still applies now? I need a HSPA+ phone since i’m on T-Mobile USA, isn’t all Xperia T/TX is compatible with HSPA+/ T-Mobile USA 3G/4G?

I’m pretty disappointed that no one (not even Sony Mobile Korea) can tell me whether the new Xperia phones (Xperia P, S, U) will be released in Korea.I’m not interested in ANY other phone than Sony. Someone should make up their minds and tell us in Korea what’s going on !!!
