Xperia P and Xperia U now expected towards end of May in UK

in Xperia P, Xperia U

Just last week we reported that the Sony Xperia P and Xperia U were due to launch in the first week of May 2012 in the UK. However, this date has now slipped back towards the end of May according to Clove. The retailer has said that both handsets are now expected on Monday 28 May instead of 7 May previously. This is likely to mean the handsets have seen a similar delay across Mainland Europe.

    What ? Why Sony why…

This reminds me of S/E’s delays with the X2, X10, Xperia pro and so on. It seems Ericsson were always innocent and Sony are the douchebags that keeps delaying stuff.

Sony you really need to learn to stick to schedule.

We still love you but yes you’re still a douche

  • Hmm, any chance that all of the shake-ups at Sony as of late could be cause of these delays?

  • Johannes

Will it be the same for Sola? Please respond.

I regret buying Xperia S, I’m on my third replacemnt and it also has the yellow tint.
This delay of Xperia P and U could be due to the same problem.

    Sony should refund us.

  • They annoced at the same with HTC One X, one V , one S , they realsed about 1 month  before but still waiting Sony …. why so late ?

Me and my friends bought a total of 7 xperia s in the hague, netherands. None of us have even the slightest of problems with the screen.

I wonder how many of us on this blog will actually buy one of those handsets. Most people here have bought the flagship already (i am guessing). If I buy one (XP) it wont be at launch and it would be for the missus.

I think it is strategic. The launch of Samsung Galaxy S3 at may 3 will overschadow sony’s launch. And will cause in less sales.

    Yeah, HTC was very fast

It’s a possibility but I’m assuming that Sony would’ve known about the s3 launch before the public was officially informed about it. That knowledge would’ve given them an opportunity to make that decision earlier rather than 2 days ago. But like i said … it’s just an assumption. There could be so many reasons for this delay, it’s hard to speculate having only information based on the certain retailers websides. It’s a believable Intel though it gives us absolutely no indication on reason of this delay. No matter what the true causes are it is still bit dissapointing. On the other hand since the MWC Sony never stated any particular day established for the XP and XU launch. They’ve always said Q2 …which is not over yet. So we may be calling it a delay but really they’re still within the timeline. Let’s hope new devices will be free of bugs and that Sony optimizes them to the best of their experience. Can’t wait

Sony bought Sony Ericsson and renamed it Sony Mobile Communications. It’s the same company.

Even though the employees from the beginning came from both Sony and Ericsson, they all went into the company that is now known as Sony Mobile.
