PlayStation Mobile (PSM) for Android due later this year

Up until now it has been a bit unclear as to what we should expect from PlayStation Mobile (previously known as the PlayStation Suite). We thought it might just be a redesigned PlayStation Store, but new evidence suggests that PSM will be a separate app that will need to be downloaded in addtion to the PS Store app.

The PlayStation Mobile SDK is currently in an open beta and the full launch is still expected later this year. A ‘Coming Soon’ splash page for PSM reveals that Sony is planning on releasing the “PlayStation Mobile (PSM) for Android” app once it eventually goes live. Exact dates are still a mystery for now, although we note that Sony’s PlayStation GamesCom press conference starts shortly and maybe there will be some new information announced there. We’ll keep you posted.

And what does PlayStation Mobile give us?

I should note that this is probably just the PS Store/Mobile apps that already exist for the Arc/Acro/Play. This is the same message I get on the GX when I try to open it up. Nothing to get excited for yet.
