Sony Mobile has just announced three new smartphones at the IFA 2012 press conference. They include the Sony Xperia T (LT30p), Xperia V (LT25i) and Xperia J (ST26i/ST26a). The Xperia T (Mint) and Xperia J (JLo) have been discussed at length before, but the Xperia V is a mystery. The company also confirmed the Sony Xperia Tablet S which has been leaked so extensively recently. We’ll bring you more news on each of these products in separate posts shortly.

  • Aaron_R96

Xperia T is basically the international GX

  • guest

Will the v come to europe?

  • megane198

Is the whitepaper for Xperia TX has a typo error? I was shocked to notice that the SoC is MSM8260, just like the Xperia S. But I bet it is not a typo, GPU stated that it is Adreno 220.

    XPERIA Blog guys
XPERIA T white paper says that it uses “1.5 GHz Qualcomm Krait MSM8260-A Dual Core”please tell me its wrong .http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/lt29/whitepaper_EN_lt29i_xperia_tx.pdf
1.5 GHz Qualcomm Krait MSM8260-A Dual Core

I was shocked too, yeah. I saw Xperia V having S4 but Xperia T having S3 same as Xperia S.

  • eff

Am i reading wrong or what?Whitepaper says J has GORILLA glass.

  • megane198

Check the Xperia TX, too! Whitepaper tells that it has MSM8260 and Adreno 220.

  • lovebmw

OMG I AM OFFICIALLY CONFUSED NOW

  • megane198

Check the video, too. Markus from Sony Mobile also stated that Xperia J has Gorilla Glass.

  • naathaanS

    What happened to TX?

  • Stéphane

Which is the highend? T(lt30) or tx(lt29)
    i think T..

  • mg13

i think it will come .
http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/lt25/whitepaper_EN_lt25i_xperia_v.pdf there you can see the lte frequences band 1 —> 2100 mhz, band 3—–> 1800 mhz ,band 5—>850 mhz ,band 7 —-> 2600 mhz ,band 20 —-> 800 mhz so it works with lte in europe ;)

  • luckystar

also J and V has no green globe ball and has xperia logo at bacckk

  • lovebmw

i caught it before your reply sorry LOL

  • Xperia

    Where is the Xperia GX?

  • dereknobuyuki

T = LT30 mint. it has a sealed battery and a more angular design but maybe an S3 SoC
TX = LT29i hayabusa is just like the GX with a design [arc] meets [ion] but has an S3 SoC reportedly
GX = LT29 SO-04D hayabusa is like the TX but for Japan at the moment and has S4 SoC
V = is a smaller device with the same MSM8960 S4 SoC as the GX, smaller screen, and slightly larger battery and a device a little similar to the T

  • dereknobuyuki
  • dereknobuyuki

For the record, the GX has the S4 MSM8960/Adreno225.
I hope the TX has the same thing and I hope it’s not some compromise because they anticipated an S4 shortage. :'(

S3 just feels like a step back.

  • Xperia

    ThX

  • megane198

T has an S4 SoC. MSM8260A and MSM8960 for HSPA+ and LTE versions, respectively. I don’t like what they did with the TX, it is a GX body with the Xperia S SoC.

  • http://twitter.com/techgospel Tech Gospel

I guess Sony wants to be the next one to give Apple $1B with the Xperia V….

  • dereknobuyuki

I think the problem was that the TX lists the MSM8260 w/ Adreno 220 (like you wrote… Xperia S’s S3 SoC in a GX body) and some people may have been freaking out on XDA.

It’s unfortunate… and I hope it’s a mistake (there have been so many other documentation mistakes with previous FCC documents for the GX) and they get the S4 8260A and 8960

I’ve been using the 8960 with the GX and it’s been running quite well.

  • dereknobuyuki

The TX looks like the GX. It has the same “features” and body.
Unless it’s a mistake, it has an older S3 SoC inside though.

The T should have the same S4 SoC as the GX though but has a different design (looks closer to the Sola rather than the GX’s [ Arc meeting Ion ] looking design.

  • Simão Lúcio

why they say the T is lhe sony’s flagship?
The TX with a removable batery, and the GX with a S4 are better.
    Even the V is better!!!
    I don’t understand…

  • dereknobuyuki

Update: Users are reported that the same whitepaper from the developer.sonymobile site lists it as the S4 MSM8260A…. hopefully they sort out the mismatched information.

  • dereknobuyuki

S4 MSM8260A with Adreno 225 seems to be largely the same as the S4 MSM8960 sound in the Xperia GX and other high end smartphones except the 8260A doesn’t support LTE.

The real problem is that the TX was listed as 8260 (S3 Snapdragon) instead of 8260A (S4 Snapdragon) so hopefully that mismatched information will be corrected soon and it becomes clear exactly which SoC is in the TX.

The T is the same old high end S4 no-LTE SoC.
