Great news for Europeans, the Android Amazon Appstore has finally launched in the region. Five countries are live right now including the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. We can confirm that we have been able to log into the store from our UK account and download the Free App of the Day (ad-free version of Angry Birds).

To download the app, scan the QR code below using ‘Barcode Scanner’ or another scanning app. Alternatively, hit this URL on your Android device to download the APK directly. Also, make sure that you have ‘Unknown Sources’ ticked in your Settings (Security > Unknown sources). Then just sign into your Amazon account and away you go. This is long overdue, but we’re glad to see it’s finally live here. Hopefully, other regions will open up shortly.

Just downloaded and immediately uninstalled. Used up 28mb of memory, and can’t save to SD! What?!
