Xperia T and Xperia J available in UK from 5 September; Xperia Tablet S pricing confirmed

in Sony Tablet, Xperia J, Xperia T, Xperia V

One of Sony Mobile’s big strategic initiatives is to increase the time to market efficiency. A weakness over the last few years is the large gap between when a phone was announced until it was finally released.

It seems as if the company is beginning to improve in this regard as UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has announced that both the Sony Xperia T and Xperia J smartphones will be shipping on 5 September i.e. next week. Pricing remains a mystery for now, but Carphone Warehouse says that it will be “confirmed shortly”. Unfortunately the Xperia V will not be sold in the UK.

The retailer will also be stocking the Xperia Tablet S and announced that it will cost £329 for the Wi-Fi version and £429 for the 3G version. Details on availability are still being ironed out.

Xperia V not being sold in the UK is a bit disappointment! Especially since some of us consider it as the real new flagship

I think Sony should delay Xperia V for at least a month, otherwise the Acro S would be dead instantly. But that is if the price difference would be small or negligible that a few additional bucks would get you the better in specs (and design, IMO) Xperia V.
Anyway, I hope Xperia V would be available globally. I ain’t from UK, but Xperia V is a really good phone and a lot of people in the UK support Sony’s products especially their mobile phones.

The Xperia V is LTE while the acro S is HSPA. The Xperia V may not even reach some markets where LTE isn’t available yet.

this is good, availability right after announcement, this is what people want, instead of availability 6 months after announcement (Xperia Ion)

  • Jattal

Xperia V has european/Asian LTE band

I love Sony products. I think Sony XPERIA Tablet S 11 might be one of the best android tablets.
