Xperia V to come with Clear Phase technology

by XB on 13th September 2012

in Xperia V

The Sony Xperia V will come with another new feature that we haven’t seen before on an Xperia handset – Clear Phase. The feature can clearly be seen in the UI of the Xperia V with the following description: “Automatically adjust the sound quality of the internal speaker”.

The Clear Phase technology has normally made an appearance on Vaio laptops, so it looks like Sony is now looking to integrate this into its handsets. At this stage it is unknown whether Clear Phase will be coming to the Xperia T, although we’ll find out for sure in a few weeks’ time when the handset launches.

N by the way first :D

  • Coolkid

Now all Sony have to do is get all technologies together with high-end specs in a handset and release it as 1H flagship of 2013… And name it as Xperia BADASS…!!!!

  • lovebmw

    Shut up, take my money

  • lovebmw

Why is Sony not advertising all this?

  • good question, and sony phones are not widely available too in Canada, I think US too. Most carrier only have low end ones. They really need to speed up, announce a phone 2 week before release.

…And there still are people who would sell a kidney for an iPhone, please tell them it’s 2012 already.

That just made me laugh, thanks. :)

  • or the Xperia Coolkid

  • mean the year the world’s supposed to end? Hmm, which phone will be most useful in the afterlife..any ideas, Xlash?

  • Xlash Andraid

I dunno… It depends of how good 3G, LTE and WiFi signals are in afterlife.

  • aj

Because first they want to sell xperia T n Tx

  • Fraulein

    2010 called…

  • Fraulein

    C’mon, I’m a Sony fan, but it’s just a stupid gimmick

  • malih

they plan to release not too far from the time of announcement, in the UK, cause Sony’s focusing on Europe and Asia market. SGS 3 was also released in the UK within 15 days of release. It doubtful whether they’ll ever be focusing on US/Canada first.

They differ with Apple/Motorola, focusing on US first.

  • TjaldidTjaldid

yeah that’s why you would think that they would advertise it

  • just shut up

  • seriously, why doesn’t sony add 16gb internal storage and make this the flagship device?

  • dereknobuyuki

For the record: Xperia GX with software build June 29th, 2012 does not have this feature.
I think the TX and T still have a chance since they may have slightly newer builds.

  • nfs2010

Freaking Sony, you’re forcing me to downgrade on screen size (currently own an 4.6″ Xperia Ion and 4.7″ HOX) and get Xperia V. I’ll also get an T or TX as well if it supports AT&T HSPA+ bands. Now you may shut up and take my money :P

  • mike

because this phone is not available in all countries. At least UK is not getting it. Can’t call a phone their flagship if one or more markets are not getting the phone.

  • bi
  • . . . but they could just decide to release it in more countries.

is this possible to come on the Xperia S via a software upgrade? I’m not asking if it will. I’m asking if its possible or does it have something to do with hardware differences in the Xperia V?

  • I think it’s pretty 0G around there lol

  • Samuel

Xperia V seems more tempting by the minute as compared to the T and TX.

I sure do hope a 4.3 inch screen and on-screen soft keys does not shrink down the usable area by quite a lot. If not, I’m upgrading my Arc to the V.

  • please tell me which xperia phone should i buy (any price) i am more intrested in buying xperia s should i buy it or wait for its new version?

  • jxPerience

  • caramba1

    ?????, ??????????? ???????? !!!

  • Stonerboy779

Why does everyone want the Xperia V?
Why not go with the T or TX the handset sizes are virtually identical why would you want a large border around your screen and with soft keys you’d be silly not to get the larger screen.
Then the Xperia V lacks a dedicated camera button.

If the real reason people want the V is all this Clear Audio and other tech that’s announced for it like Bravia Engine II.

You do all realise shortly after release some dev over on xda will pull everything so you can install it on the other xperia phones.

Hell my ancient Xperia X10 has Bravia Engine and XLoud which it most certainaly never shipped with. All these things are just software layers that will quickly enough be incorporated into every T and TX ROM.

  • zyzzyva

V has IP57 certified – dust and water resistant (Water proof up to 1 meter and 30 minutes)
And am I the only one that doesn’t like dedicated camera button because it shakes the phone and make the picture blur?

is not a gimmick ..its called marketing

  • weeeeee8888888888

  • deepdiver

You do realise that water resistance and in-cell technology are not software layers, do you?

  • I suggest you wait for the new versions to me xperia t looking real good man!

  • Fraulein

    No, it’s a gimmick.

“In marketing language, a gimmick is a unique or quirky special feature that makes something “stand out” from its contemporaries. However, the special feature is typically thought to be of little relevance or use. Thus, a gimmick is a special feature for the sake of having a special feature.”

  • Fraulein

    They wanted their joke back.

  • Stonerboy779

You do realise I am not a retard and don’t drop my phone in puddles right?
It cool that it has in-cell tech and all but it is still 10.7mm thick and the Xperia T and TX are both thinner at 9.4 and 8.6mm respectively.
So what does the in-cell tech do if it doesn’t make the phone thinner as the standard seems to be….
Wait it must have a larger battery from the extra thinckness because its other dimensions are so close to the T and TX but no…. it has the same battery capacity as the TX and less han the T.

  • zyzzyva

I think it must be thicker because it’s ability to resistant to dust and water. But I’m surprise that Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD managed to come with 9.3 mm with same resistant and 3,300 mAh battery. But it’s exclusive for Verizon carrier and it’s design is….. well, let’s go back to it’s enormous battery.
