The Sony Xperia miro (ST23i) is due to go on sale imminently in Europe, UK retailers are expecting stock of the sub-£200 handset in the next week or so. However, given the price, don’t go expecting too much in the box. The unboxing video below (in Italian) shows minimal accessories including a USB cable and charger, BA700 (1500mAh) battery and documentation. That’s it, you don’t even get a headset in the box.

The Xperia miro is the bigger brother to the Xperia tipo sporting a higher display size (3.5-inch versus 3.2-inch for the tipo) and better camera (5MP camera versus 3.2MP for the tipo). The Sony Xperia miro has a 800MHz MSM7225A chipset, 3.5-inch (320 x 480) display, 5MP camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory (2.2GB user accessible) and microSD memory card support. It also has a funky notification light at the bottom of the handset and will launch with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. See the unboxing video below.

really entry level specifications, I can’t understand why Sony is concentrating on these new models that do not have anything interesting instead of supporting its current lineup. The xperia U, for example, is selling well and has been well received, yet it still must receive ICS and it is hard to find…

Sony Please stop releasing New phones

    we don’t need xperia A-Z
we need One good and Market stable Awesome phone ?

    One entry level phone
    One mid range phone
    One High End phone

    or 5 phones for year
don’t waist your money and technology for failed product

  • All of that..but why has it taken so long to get it to the market -this was announced ages ago! Are there still supply issues as a result of the tsunami last year or are there strategic problems at Sony?

The camera quality of Xperia s is really disappointing. Satio had one of the best camera n I ws expecting something similar to that but I’m very unhappy with the performance of the cam :(
