in Firmware, Xperia ion

A new firmware version (6.1.E.2.68 ) for the LTE Sony Xperia ion (LT28i) is now rolling out in China and Hong Kong. This firmware is still a branch of Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, however we don’t know what specific improvements this firmware brings over the preceding version. It is currently only available for the LTE SKU (LT28i) of the Xperia ion, so HSPA+ owners (LT28h) will have to wait. If anyone has updated to this version, please chime in with your comments below.

USA, LT28i is downloading the update as I type this, while the LT28h said it has the latest firmware (6.1.E.1.20)

Those rooted, don’t upgrade just yet, You’ll lose root (naturally), and the Bin4ry method (root by restore) does not work (so far!), looking forward for an update from Bin4ry on this…
After testing the firmware for a few days, battery life seems to have improved a bit… also, the firmware added Chrome browser, and Sony Select (Sony’s version of Play store)… no other changes are noticeable…

Also, LT28h in the US, still no update.

Anyone know if this update will resolve some of the bug issues? ever since the ICS upgrade, my ion has been really buggy and feels really sluggish.

I tried to update in India. The PC Companion downloaded the update (E.2.68) but the laptop freezes everytime before updating the LT28h. Any solution for this

i updated my LT28h, to 2.68, after that the phone has started laggin a bit , and also sometimes the games pause on their own, not linking it, the previous build was smooth and movement between screens and apps was smooth, please tell me if its possible to undo the update or go back to stock ICS and the older build as i had got it out of the box.

I have my Xperia Ion through Rogers in Canada. Aaand we’re stuck with 6.1.E.1.19 -.- I’m actually getting frustrated. I’ve had a FBiX bug since day one, and I’m assuming it’s been fixed in these newer versions.

Sounds like a computer issue, try reinstalling the drivers…

Also try using SUS (Sony update service)…

I have a brand new Xperia ION LT 28h from 29. December 2012. I have yet learned, that the smartphone is imported from 3. country. First time connected to a PC, I was told to get new software. Unfortunately, i cannot download and install Adobe Flash Player. The phone stated: Don’t fit to this device. I have now, spent a lot of time on my computer, looking for help.

My ION have now, version 6.1.E.2.68 (for LTE28i) and Android 4.0.4.

I have downloaded via Sony companion.
Home page from Sony stated, that the new version is 6.1.E.0.233.

    And You suggest version 6.1.E.37.

HELP, what can I do to get my phone in shape?

    Kind regards

    Rudi
