The Sony Digital Network Applications (SDNA) team has released a new creative imaging application. The app called motiongraph allows you to create still images where a selected part of the image moves like a video. Think of it as an animated gif. It’s tricky to explain, but the video below shows how it works.
It involves using the app to create a very short video (typically around 2-3 seconds). You then need to swipe over the parts of the video that you want to move. Several editing features are also available allowing you to specify start and end times of the moving video, adjusting playback speed as well as reducing jitter. Once done you can save your creation and share it via email, twitter or Facebook. It is available in the Play Store for £0.83.
