European Xperia Z sales kick off; French citizens can buy the handset right now

It begins. The Sony Xperia Z is in stock and available to order for those in France. The official Sony Mobile France webstore has both black and white variants of the handset in stock for €649. The purple version is listed out of stock, this is as SFR has exclusivity on the purple variant. We have not noticed it appear elsewhere across Europe so far, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for you.

    I have a question to anyone who already got the handset already.
    In the previous post, it was mentioned that you may not be able to take pictures underwater, question is, if you are allowed to replay the recorded video (either under water or on the surface) and take snapshots like the one in HTC? Thanks!

    There is a video onlne that you can record videos underwater. u just hve to press it first before going down. :) saame for replaying. Just press play before going under water~~

    It’s like the manufacturers are playing cat and mouse.
    First Sony go in early to give itself some breathing space, then HTC and Samsung bring forward their launch dates to prevent the Z having a free month of unchallenged sales.
    Now Sony’s slowly pushing back its own date.
    it’s like they’re all scared of each other. Funny to watch indeed

    What I’m actually thinking is after you press the record and go underwater, then go back to surface after recording the video, can you replay the video itself and take a snapshot of that video and save it as an image? It’s possible on my friend’s HTC

    I’ve tried it at a retail location and was very impressed! Go try it yourself! Screen was great and the viewing angles is bull and blown out of proportion!

    The problem is you can’t press the camera button while underwater which makes taking still image while rolling a video impossible.

    Just envy ppl in Euro. Not because Z is launching this month but they have more than 1 color to choose from. In NZ, I heard Sony or Vodafone just bring in BLACK. Very disappointed.

    oh, i see dino..my iphone 4 can do that. i just test it my self after reading your post by using assistive touch menu . after take screen shot of a video, the video itself will pause after i click on screenshot options. i hope this is what you mean :)
