in Rumours, Xperia L series, Xperia SP

xperia-LOGOThe upcoming Sony Xperia SP (C530X) and Xperia L (C210X) handsets may not have been formally announced, but that hasn’t stopped them being listed by a number of UK retailers. The Xperia SP C5303 (codenamed HuaShan) and Xperia L C2105 (codenamed Taoshan) have placeholder listings on Amazon, eBuyer and LamdaTek amongst others.

There are no revelations on specs nor on what the handsets look like, but their existence on these sites suggests that the handsets are coming and possibly very soon. LamdaTek says that stock of both handsets is expected on 19 March. An Irish retailer, Micro Aid, says that stock is due on 12 March. Either way, it looks like that Sony will be announcing each handset imminently along with immediate stock availability.

LamdaTek is listing the Sony Xperia SP at £312.98 and the Xperia L at £219.18. Micro Aid has the Xperia SP listed at €389.79 and the Xperia L at €270.46. The listings show that both handsets will come in black and white colours.

From what we (think we) know so far, the Sony Xperia SP will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T chipset with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and Adreno 320 graphics. It will have a 4.55-inch 720p display and feature an aluminium frame, 8MP Exmor RS camera, 8GB internal storage and microSD memory card.

The Sony Xperia L is expected to come with a 4.3-inch FWVGA (480 x 854) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with 1GHz dual-core processor and Adreno 305 graphics, 8MP Exmor RS camera sensor, 8GB of internal storage, microSD memory card support and a 1700mAh capacity battery.
