Xperia S FirmwareThe Sony Xperia S (LT26i) has seen its first new certified firmware for months on the PTCRB website. Firmware version 6.1.G.0.0 is unusual in that it breaks the 6.1.A.X.XX form of previous releases. However, before you get too excited, we don’t think this is the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update you are looking for. It may be a pre-JB release or even a customised-carrier version.

On the same day, a number of older Xperia S firmware were also certified including version number 6.1.A.2.55 and 6.1.A.2.50 – both of which have been around for a while. We would expect the JB firmware to take the form of 6.2.A.0.XXX or something similar, so hopefully it’s not too much longer before it hits our radar.
