The tear down article says availability ”May”. Sucks the back is plastic, should have been glass.

It’s so expensive.. 85,470 Yen and in Php Currency took around 34,500+ Pesos.. Good Specs, Classy look Tablet but too pricey for me.. that’s real downside for Sony, they just focus high class society not including low-mid… i prefer to buy iPad or samsung than which is more cheaper 20k+ or even 14k for iPad mini.. lol

I thought it was fibre glass?

It’s £399 for 16GB and £449 for the 32GB version in the UK. These prices are fare compared to the competition!

  • Xperia S Android 4.1.2 Jelly B

    WTF?
    Xperia S JB SONY?

  • SOLID

Imagine how heavy it would be if 2 sides were made of glass >.<
Though each to their own preference. No doubt having both sides made of glass would give it a very classy solid feel =3

I want Xperia Z so much but not get enough
money. But I can get this beautiful and unique smartphone with your support.

A local retailer in Vietnam, Nguyen Kim supermarket made a event that you need
choose one of five features in Xperia Z: “Design, Power(CPU and battery),
Full HD screen, Camera, and Connection”, and write about your reason to
    choose that feature!

I need 300 like of people on facebook to request to gain 3 point, another 7
point can get from jury of event when they choose my reason post. I just join
the event and need your help, Sony and Xperia’s fan, and I can have this
    beautiful phone.

You just need log in your facebook, go to below link, scroll to end of my post
(blue color and at the end of post have logo and slogan of Sony), and push
“like”(“thích” if in Vietnamese), and I have one vote.
    Thanks you so much.

Everyone is constantly complaining about the price quoting a number out of context.

The 32GB WiFi Mode is basically $500-600 (I bought one) which is a reasonable price in this market.

You can’t compare one country’s carrier product with another one as well as you can’t just convert one currency to another. Carrier product prices in Japan are not the effective prices; prices will always be high to encourage people to go through a carrier’s main channels. Currencies should always take purchasing power parity into account.

I’ve had a fair amount of hands on time with both the Docomo LTE/1-seg version and the Global Wifi version. The WiFi version is much lighter making an extremely thin and light-weight mind-blowing device. Too bad it doesn’t come in funky colours like the purple.
