XZ T-MobileThe likelihood of the Xperia Z coming to the United States looks ever stronger, after the C6606 variant of the handset (with compatible bands for North America) passed through the FCC. The FCC documents also included a T-Mobile branded user manual, confirming recent speculation that the carrier is at least testing the device.

We still don’t know for sure if T-Mobile will end up carrying the device, but we hope if it does, it reveals its plans soon. The handset has already been on sale in other regions for over two months now and the smartphone race stops for no one. We’re sure the phone will have an audience though, given its sleek design and water resistant features. Still, let’s hope the phone is released sooner rather than later.

Hopefully AT&T also gets the phone. Then again I already own the Odin don’t really need the Yuga.

  • lovebmw

This phone will make a difference in the U.S.

  • Peter Griffin

nope, they don’t get shit till spring 2014

  • i don’t know wat’s the difference from normal sony xperia z???

  • SonyFan

the c6606 supports lte bands in US…i think…

  • That’s cool that this phone is coming to the U.S. I think it’s a bit too late for this phone to make any impact in the U.S. anymore, unfortunately. Especially on T-Mobile where you have to pay retail price for the phone.

  • Wolf0491

But will it have ATT bands as well I wonder.
US carriers are a mess. Then again I haven’t had a problem without LTE on mine thus far

  • blob

2 days later for xperiablog to post it… nice

  • The normal XZ already support all LTE bands…… no?…..

  • When 4.2 release for Xperia z
Is there any official news Bro
    Can any one say

  • SonyFan

after the Xperia S,Ion,Acro S get JB…so it means about in 6weeks…

  • Xyor

I don’ either/_ but the signal and ping leg of HSPA in my area is so horrible…I wish after they releases the 6606, I may have the LTE for att by flashing the baseband. But I don’t think that’s possible/_

  • Xyor

No…It only support the bands that are used in Asia and Europe. Even the HSPA bands that the 6603 supports aren’t those used in US

  • lovebmw

Why? Tell me what is so different from 4.1

  • ??? If the normal XZ only support LTE in Asia and Europe… there’s no normal XZ in USA ???

you do not have tho pay the full price of the phone upfront but you have the option to do so. Plus it does not matter which carrier you go with you will end up paying the full price of the phone anyway

  • Ziich

notice that the title says lte coverage for xperia smartphones.

the Xperia ion and the Xperia zl as of this moment support us lte bands. the c6606 will be the Xperia z that will support let in the states

“The LTE standard can be used with many different frequency bands. The deployment is increasing rapidly among the world. As of today 700, 850, 1900 and 1700/2100 MHz bands are used in North America”

  • Ziich

i truly doubt it especially when they have the s4 on all 4 major carriers and the one on 3 of the 4 major carriers, putting the Xperia z on the smallest of the 4 major carriers will not make that much of an impact on the smartphone market in the u.s.
It will make a huge difference to me though!

  • Ziich

    please come out now

  • Ziich

it is not really what new features come with 4.2 it is a matter of how quickly we can get the update. if it takes this long to get an update as minor as 4.2 the how long will it take to get 4.3/5.0 (whichever one they decide to announce this year?

  • Babylonbwoy

That’s what happends when only business dictate companies’ move. More homogen here in europe!

  • Zendrix Darren

If you want to be just like everybody else then get the Galaxy or the iPhone… Xperia Z is for those who dare to be different

  • Danny

first off, I’m on USA T-Mobile network, I have a Xperia TX with HSPA+, so I’m using their 4G. I want to know the difference between this C6606 and the HSPA+ C6602 and the European LTE C6603. I’m assuming it have American LTE and HSPA+. if that is true it would be awesome. I just need that clarify, and also hoping there would be an unlocked version because I don’t like T-Mobile or any carrier brands. but for price, I can be persuaded.
