Xperia ion JB_1We’ve already had an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware leak for the Xperia S (LT26i) and now the same has occurred for the Xperia ion (LT28i). The Jelly Bean firmware version is build number 6.2.B.0.203 and was intended for production devices. However, xda-developer legend, DooMLoRD, has managed to port the firmware to consumer handsets.

It will only work on handsets with unlocked bootloaders due to the need to flash a new kernel. DooMLoRD is currently in the process of uploading the ROM for users, so keep an eye on this thread for further details.

Jelly Bean leak for Xperia is so lag and very very poor battery life :(

  • chaud

2 week left to the promised released date by Sony for the JB updates and the testing ROM just leaked until today. No sight of new firmware certification on PTCRB as well. Got a feeling that the Xperia ion bunch will be the last to receive the JB update among the 2012 lineups. Tough luck i guess?

  • Michael

    4.2??????

  • the kernel version date is the same as in the leaked xperia s jelly bean. Does it mean anything?

  • Bill

When android 5.0 comes out, so you have something new to whine about.

  • Someone enlighten me: why the xperia s timescape does not appear in the videos that came out of the version that came out and ion appears? would not be replaced by socialife?

  • Silas Arentsen

Thanks sir, you made my day

  • lolololol

  • Hai Long Hoang

It was the 1st for ion, firmware .197 for S was smooth

I have said this before and I shall say it again. Seriously what is the thing about 4.2 that you guys are desperate about? Notification bar toggles? Swype-like keyboard? Panorama camera? The only thing “new” is lockscreen widgets, but I still can’t see what the whining is about.
Anyway all of us guys at xda know that version number is just a number that can easily be changed in build.prop within a few seconds, with root of course.

  • lovebmw

    hahahahaha…

  • lovebmw

haha, seriously guys drop the update crap! from 1.6 to 2.1 it was VITAL, 2.1 to 2.3 it was amazing and to 3.1 it was great and 4,1 Solid phone…. 4.2 nice upgrade?

  • According to one guy on XDA, he already got a newer software, its not 4.2 but he said it was a good ROM, phone is faster overall. better STAMINA, faster camera launch, the system UI is now darker

  • surethom

A standard response from Sony is
    1, Coming soon
    2. Coming beginning of next month
    3. Coming the end of next Month
    4. Coming next quarter.

    I.E, Who knows???
