XTZ PressSony today announced availability of the Xperia Tablet Z in both India and Singapore. It appears that only one model (SGP321) will be launched in India, which is the LTE/Wi-Fi version with an RRP of INR 46,990. The cheaper Wi-Fi only models (SGP311/SGP312) will not be on sale in the region. Infibeam and Flipkart is offering the tablet for INR 44,990 with a free case and has it down for a 3 June launch.

Sony also confirmed that both LTE and Wi-Fi versions of the Xperia Tablet Z will be heading to Singapore on 6 June 2013. Pricing details were not disclosed, but the tablet is expected to be available in Sony Stores, Sony Centres and Sony Authorized Retailers.

Lastly, it looks like US orders for the Xperia Tablet Z are now shipping. The Sony Store website has the 16GB Wi-FI SKU in stock for $499.99, however the 32GB model is not shipping until 11 June. Availability appears low from third party sites, Amazon has the tablet shipping within 3 to 4 weeks, Newegg is out of stock and B&H is not expecting availability until 3 June.

Thanks Anurag, Rishi and TJ George!

Looks like its gonna be a hit!
I love mine and use it all the time. Easily the best tablet on the market

I think I’ve made my decision to sell my iPad and buy the Xperia Tablet Z. Now the only thing is how to get it since I’m in Mexico. I hope it’ll get here soon.

  • Jesús López Sotelo

You have over a month to “enjoy” that iPad and get some extra pesos. Unless you import one from US.

  • Marco Sobrevilla

I’ve already starting selling it and it’ll bring me about 6000 and it depends on the price here that I might import one. I never go to the US but a friend of mine goes every once in a while so I might ask him.
How much do you think it’ll be for the 32GB version?

  • Jesús López Sotelo

I’ve got no idea, but I’m hopping we get the 4G version, at least.

  • Marco Sobrevilla

Yeah, but usually the prices for 4G tablets are through the roof. That’s about the only thing that deters me from getting one. I specifically want the 32GB wifi cause I’ve got the 16GB iPad now and I don’t feel like its enough. It’ll be enough with 32GB for apps and an SD card for media.

    Your welcome Xperia Blog. :)

That’s the best thing about it. It’s thin and lightness. Absolute joy to gold and use

  • Marco Sobrevilla

Wat do you like the most about it?

  • Ashad Mamood

Its looks amazing. Absolutely thin and light and easy to hold for long periods of time. I also have an Ipad 4 and its much lighter than that. I use it to read and browse all the time. Screen is fantastic not that much difference to the ipad screen which is slightly sharper.

japan version has lte and dock and is even cheaper

  • zerocools

You screw up your grammar and english, we’re going to have big problems trying to read your rants.

  • Marco Sobrevilla

Would you say that it’s on par performace-wise?
(If you play games) I know that it won’t be a problem while using the internet and stuff like that.

This is the best android tablet I’ve used. You can’t compare IOS and Android. I played Real Racing 3 and that was great. Try it out at retail location. You won’t be disappointed!

  • Marco Sobrevilla

It hasn’t come out in Mexico yet but I’ve been looking at a lot of YouTube videos about it and comparing it to other tablets. I’m pretty sure I’ve made my choice about it since I’ve already started listing my iPad for sale.
Mainly, I’ll be using it for school (creating & editing word documents on it) but I also want it to be able to play good games for distraction every once in a while.
I’ve heard that there are some good apps for documents too so I’ll be looking forward to that.

If you meant to say “If they screw this up” then the screw up will be on the marketing or sales side (ex: pricing). If you meant to say “They’ll screw this tablet up and are going to have big problems”, then I’d have to disagree with you. They first showed off this tablet in February. I did my first hands on impressions in February and then bought one. I’ve used it for just short of 2 months now and the only problem I have is an erroneous event firing when it is charging that interferes with some apps.

The tablet itself is fine. Again, “screw ups” would be on the sales and/or marketing side if they happen.
