What does pre-rooted mean? It’s a ROM that has already been rooted and once installed your device is automatically rooted?

  • http://twitter.com/adeceku alan cavazos

come on sony where is the new 4.3 JB update

  • Ghayyath El Masri

Sorry to sound ignorant but I don’t know much about rooted and pre-rooted..I’ve never done anything with my phone related to those things, does this mean I can still install it?

  • Akshay Gupta

I would say fuck off! But that would be too mainstream. So you can shut your fucking large pie hole. You got the update and now just stfu.

  • A Chai Yuth

sound nice with clockwide mod , love it , thx doom lord

  • disqus_08T17DzMHr

@akshay.. u said that… all were screaming for 4.1.. they got that it now. and now they asking for 4.3 if they get that they will start screaming again for 5.0 key lime pie. humans can’t be satisfied with what they got…. disgusting attitude really…

If you haven’t fiddled with your phone previously (take as unlocking bootloader or rooting it) you should stay away from this as it’s not aimed for your device. You should get the official OTA/PC Companion update.

  • jhjda

Yes, it means that it has already been rooted.

  • Guest

Hi, just letting you know that my phone just got the official update.

  • Alex

Can you guys not take a joke? Lighten up

  • Rob

Considering 4.3 is not released yet he’s most likely just trying to be funny. No need to go all deep

  • christere

So this can’t be used if I haven’t rooted my phone before?

  • boosook

    Respect DooMLoRD!

  • DoucheyTuesday

Wow forget old DooMLoRD..here comes the MooDLoRD! (hope I got your CAPS right!) moooooooooo!

  • DoucheyTuesday

Professor Dmitry Lazarev has been put in charge of the 4.3 update operation..email him

  • Techie Monstaaa

nice, i probably try this in the summer when i have some time :D

  • Brian

Dear Malaysians, Jelly Bean is outttt! Update via computer :D

  • sXs

You can use it, but need some knowledge about what you are doing, otherwise , you might get a dead device if you make a mistake.. Also doing such things void your warranty.. First of all read around and learn it (rooting and other stuff), then do it..

  • sXs

You are a pain in the arse

  • Arokhantos

Hate say it but nexus devices don’t even have 4.3 yet so kindy pointless asking for it, tough it would be nice if sony could be much faster updating to 4.3 then they been in past updating to 4.1 4.0 etc

  • Choki Chokee

    how…how

  • Buerns

Ufff I have the same version and the same language but still no update…I have a generic rom, not branded. ARRRGH anxiety!!!

  • Kazuo Satō

u jst went full retard! … never go FULL RETARD!

  • Akash Tadmare

how to go in ClockwordMod Recovery mode? pls reply soon…m waiting

  • boosook

well, being prerooted this is intended for people who don’t have rooted their phones already! :) the point is that the fact that the rom is prerooted does not mean you will be able to flash it without dedicating some time browsing the internet, reading instructions, reading forums and so on.

  • Xperia s user

Hope Sony can fix some bugs on camera…

    The flashlight makes photos purple

  • christere

Sure. I meant rooted on previous firmware or so. Thanks for the answer.

I updated my xperia s 2 weeks ago via pc companion to official jelly bean (4.1.2 Build 6.2.B.0.200). As warranty period for my phone is over…i want to root my device….although I have read about rooting ,but have never done something like rooting or flashing a custom ROM…so can anyone guide me step by step to root my device? what are the benifits of a rooted device compared to non-rooted device (particulary for xperia s) and what are the downsides ? Can I increase the clock frequency after rooting and remove the preinstalled bloatware?
    any help will be appreciated.
