Calling Xperia Z Ultra owners – we want to hear your impressions

in Videos, Xperia Z Ultra

XperiaZUltra_Press_6The Sony Xperia Z Ultra has already been released across a number of regions in Asia, well at least the HSPA+ version (C6802) has. Everyone else has to wait until mid-September at the earliest before the LTE version (C6833) is released into Europe and at some point we’ll see another LTE SKU (C6806) hit North America.

There are a lot of people enviously waiting to get hands-on with Sony’s 6.4-inch beast with its Snapdragon chipset and stylus input. So if you have recently taking ownership of the device, we’d love to hear your impressions. Are you happy with it? What are the positives and negatives? How are you making calls – to your ear or via Bluetooth? Is the display too big? Would you recommend the handset to other Xperia Blog readers? We’d love to hear your impressions in the comments section below. We have also have included a new promo video for the handset.

  • Nuno

Just pre-ordered my unit the c6806 with the North American LTE bands. The phone looks amazing and def a contender for top spot in the phablet department.

  • Altaf

I got it since a week now and it is simply amazing, the screen is wow ! I am not using any bluetooth headset to make calls as it fits perfectly in one hand. Super responsive and super thin, its very light too ! Go for it !

  • Is not having a flash a big deal??

  • Dee

Not at all actually. With flash in dark places pictures will appear too white because of the flash. But with HDR, low light shots are perfect as long as your hand does not shake.

  • ayush

Not 13 or 20 mp camera only 8 mp without flash

  • Sumit

No LED flash is a let down….

  • ????? ????????

Post a few pictures taken at night or in dark places. ;)

  • nlgn

Honamin to be announced too in Malaysia first week of september…

    *Honami

  • shayan gozarabadi

hows the battery life guys?? specially in video playing?

  • faysal

if you take picture in dark ass place with no light (what are you even doing there) then yh it is a problem but other then that people are just making it seems like a problem. and its thoes people who will never buy the phone anyways no matter what.

  • Dee

Remember this is low light and those lamps have really weak light . Not total darkness :)
HDR makes the image tone slightly warmer but it works great.

  • nobita

it’s been a day since i bought it, so far it’s been good… large beautiful display, super responsive touch screen, thin and realllly fast… the first thing that came to my mind when i first saw it was the large size lol (my previous phone was the xperia s)… i have a small hand, but surprisingly the phone fits… about battery life, i have yet to test that… the things that are bugging me so far are the camera and speaker… some photos kinda reminded me of the photos i took with the arc s (before the update), and the speaker is not loud enough… but we’ll see, i hope they will fix these

  • Dee

Yeah I agree with faysal above^

  • Dang Quoc Thanh

Best smartphone so far (compare to Xperia Z, Galaxy S4, HTC One), but the Antutu benchmark is below 30.000 :(, hope the final firmware will improve the performance result.

  • raycs

Just want to share my fourth set of xperia z ultra within 24 hr, your company QC is really amazing! (The first one(black) with a dust in center screen, second one(black) with black screen( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s8qbC1GFew&feature=youtube_gdata_player
), third one (white color because offical dealer out of stock) with 3 black led spot and now i own the fourth(white >_<) on my hand, that's really amazing, right?

  • hans

So what? as long as it is smooth so be damned the Benchmark score.

  • nameofthewind

right! it doesn’t matter what the benchmark scores are its the usability and reliability that matters, it doesn’t matter whether it scores lower than the other phones as long as you can use it properly!

  • foggyflute

My friend has this phone. Launched very quiet here in VN, maybe the awesome of the original Z already cooled down.

  • moez

HaAftere phone.got it as an ipad mini replacement along side my HTC one. After a day use decided to give up my HTC and use the ultra as my main device. Screen is beautiful someone argue that it is too big to fit in a pocket I am a small guy and it just about this in my pocketthe phone is superb the battery life is okay not the greatest but I make due by tried keeping a charge at my desk Sony’s you I is brilliantI expected the device to be much bigger but it is actually usable with one hand I’ll have to change my habits by using a Bluetooth headset but all in all so far so good I am happy with this deviceit is also great for gaming and videos look great for those of you willing to sacrifice a small phone and use this beast I suggest giving it a try you won’t regret your decision

  • hash

but the image is not stable… again.. exactly like xperia s… in low light the focus goes crazy.. and you cant get a good descent shot..!

  • Jenelle

    Come to Canada pleaaasee !

  • hash

its not worth it… I would go for honami.. !

  • Aaqib

I had my hands on in the sony centre in India.. I absolutely loved the z ultra.. But the only thing that irritated me was the speaker! It was too low and i literally mean it..when i say too low! Xperia z was besides that and that was still tolerable! But im not getting the z ultra just because of this speakee though i loved the phone alot! And most ppl are concerned about battery life! but i have been using sony phones most of the time so thats always been am issue amd im fine with it! Battery life would be just average or below average !

  • Aaqib

If anyone who didn’t have any speaker issue please comment as i really wanted that beast! On youtube ‘ minipc pro’ has a video on it and it says the same thing! Can it be fixed with a software update?

  • Babylonbwoy

I don’t own it but i will comment the video : shitty again!

What I don’t like in Sony is there image : too white, too soft! Looks like they only want to target wasp!

  • Babylonbwoy

If I meet the girl’s ass (at 0.36 sec) I’ll show her how big is the new (my) big !

    Sorry, couldn’t resist ;)

  • Yasser Syed

Post few more pictures with HDR and without HDR images.
    Thank you

  • Aokde Gharra

that’s actually because of the lack of optical image stabilization (which lacks from alot of phones, lumia’s have it, the new LG has it though), in the shots taken at low light the shutter speed is reduced to allow more light on the sensor which leads to not-focused images.
i wish the honami comes with OIS so we can shoot pictures at low light without losing focus.

  • Akshay Gupta

Have you seen the low light image capability of the One? One blows any phone out of the water. I just don’t like their UI. The camera of it is the best in the market IMHO.

I got it since 30/July/2013. I am extreme impress with the screen panel and performance. It is the best Android phone I ever own.

No regret buying it at all.

It is big but still in acceptable level, and actually more using it more like it, now i no longer will back to any phone smaller than 6″

    The pros:
    – Extreme outstanding screen panel, vivid but not over saturate with great viewing angle.
    – Bigger but not bulky, still nicely fit in my pants pocket include jeans.
    – Extreme speedy, nothing to complain in smoothness and performance.

    The cons:
    – Sony shall at least release it with newer UI as they show during press.
    – The loud speaker is better than Z but still kind of soft.
    – The camera quality is not that good at low light or night time, it behave like Z in earlier firmware .434 or earlier which too many post processing involved. Sony really need to sort this out.

I didn’t face some user report over sensitive or inaccuracy touching issue, we had discuss this in our Malaysia forum (https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2901999) and we find out it actually due to applied screen protector, if you face this issue, remove the screen protector then everything will be fine.

  • Andrew Tan

Nope, I never use flash much, never like take photo with flash, I only sometimes use flash as torch light when enter cinema, so this definitely not an issue for me.

  • Andrew Tan

I get score 33k anytime after updates to latest .471 firmware. :)

  • m sacha

I received mine from Hong Kong yesterday….. And I have to send it back :-( :-( I have one of the faulty ones where you press the power button and you get a blank black screen, screen still appears to work as you can hear the soft keys at the bottom of the screen. I have two weeks to send it back or wait for a software update, not likely that I’ll get that software update any quickly… My bad eid present :-( :-( :-(

  • Spectre51

    Where did you preorder it?

  • Nuno

I pre-ordered it from Negri Electronics i always buy my unlocked sony phones from there.

  • Kaz

    Best Phone in the world.

  • Babylonbwoy

did you trigger the “benchmark_boost” ting ?

  • kiikooo

I am writing this from it. The screen is amazing and it’s super fast but unfortunately I don’t like how sensitive the touch is. I mean i Can’t scroll through say twitter without accidentally clicking on something. Hopefully it’s fixed soon. Im using it as a tablet though it’s too big for a phone. So I wish it acted like one as I can’t use xperia link with my phone. But overall I really like it.

  • Babylonbwoy

change it asap, had this issue with an Xperia Ray, they never been able to fix, service center was just downgrading software and sent it back to me, after three time they replaced it.

  • m sacha

Yup definitely going to be sending it back. Unsure now if I want another one

  • Andrew Tan

Remove the screen protector if you have apply any.

It is the screen protector that making such issue.

  • ouk

Awesome device, great screen and is really big but I like it. Haven’t had any major issues with the device. But I’m curious to know if anyone else is having touch screen problems when scrolling or swiping. Whenever I’m in an email thread or on the web scrolling or on fb or twitter. The touch sometimes is wacky and will not scroll or randomly selects things. Its seems to be happening a lot lately. Which is some what annoying but not a total deal breaker. I’m just curious if it’s a hardware issue or software issue? Maybe the preinstalled screen protector is the problem. I don’t really know.

  • kiikooo

It came with a screen protector but i removed it after 5 minutes because it was horrible. Still have the problem unfortunately. Its too sensitive

  • nobita

damn it, i want a case for my z ultra!!! hope i can find one when i cross the border lol

  • Andrew Tan

That score is standard for S800.

  • Andrew Tan

Mine slightly sensitive in .461 firmware but totally solve in current .471 firmware.

  • Alex

Please , please, can anyone give me some comments. I really love the phone and wanted to buy it. But i need the flash, its very important to my due to my job. I need to take pics in the dark, as i am in renovation line. Hope you get what i really mean. If someone is kind enuf to give me a good reason or excuse, i will buy it!!!

  • gere

    http://blog.gsmarena.com/lg-g2-produces-impressive-scores-in-initial-benchmark-tests/

are you kidding? it’s on the 34+ level on that test while lg g2 is only 27+

  • P9

    no phone perfect, there.

  • Babylonbwoy

It was a joke regarding latest sammy tricks in benchmarks

  • Christopher Teague

Got mine 3 days ago direct from Hong Kong, and all i can say is WOW!!. The build quality is outstanding, i was getting really bored with the amount of plastic in a certain manufacturers handsets, the glass panels front and back are real quality, the edges being aluminium and even the weight makes you realise its of high quality. The no flash is not a deal breaker with me, i’ll buy a camera if i need one, the screen is beautiful, sharp and bright. Its very snappy too with my Antutu scoring just over 34000. The only question unanswered is should i have waited for the 4g one……….wot another 5 weeks, nah!, anyway 4g signal needs at least a year to reach 100 percent availability.

  • Christopher Teague

    http://iblazr.com/ if you can wait

  • REL

go to http://negrielectronics.com/ I preordered mine there

  • asian101

I hesitated at first. But when i got hold of this giant of a phone, well, i never turned or looked back. I sold my xperia z which was only 5 months old btw. First: the amazing build quality. The glass (front and back) panels and aluminum sides are impeccably well-built, and it doesn’t feel fragile at all. And it may look like a big chocolate candy bar, but don’t let the looks fool you- it is an ergonomically-designed phone/ tablet and the squarish design is great on landscape mode. Two: the bezels on top and bottom. I know that it may seem weird that I put these attributes as positive factors- but the bezels are great when the phone is on landscape mode, as both of your thumbs rests suitably on ea side; mimicking that of larger tablets. Third: the speed and performance. Booting the phone is much quicker than my already-relegated second favorite smartphone GS4 (which I also own), and the performance in all aspects are lag-free. I experienced some hiccups or lags in my old and already-sold Xperia Z, but not the Ultra, no. The Ultra is the epitome of buttery smooth. Fourth: the sheer size. In my opinion, it is already a mini tablet since it is almost the same size of nexus 7 2 (which is also available in the country where i work in). Which means you don’t have to have another heavier or slightly bigger tablet. And even a 10 incher won’t also be necessary in my opinion. And a lot more positive attributes. The only issues i can think of are the so-so battery life (quite similar with the Xperia Z, but I understand Sony’s move to install a smaller battery since the device will be thicker and heavier with a higher battery capacity) and the picture quality (a lot like the earlier performance of the Xperia Z which over-analyzes pictures, making the pictures too jagged due to sharpening). But overall, it is already the best smartphone now, hands down. And i never got this excited with a device since buying my first laptop years ago.

  • apoorv

I have been using the phone from one week now…if size is not an issue for you…just go get the handset….its amazingly awesome
..n worth every penny you spend on it

  • Abdur Razak

i bought it last week.. she was awesome phone ever, easy to bring n use….. even she was big, i have no problem with it… :D.
All of my brothers n sisters used samsung s3,s4,galaxy note I, note II, ipad n ipad mini but my xperia Z ultra defeated all of those….

  • Gerald Leong

i’ve been looking for a replacement to my Note 8 as it is just too big for my pocket to carry it around. Sony change my life. Sold my Note 8 and have been happy ever since..the important thing for me is its portability and waterproof, super clear screen and blazing fast processor….Camera wise, I think Lumia is the best. For everything else, there’s Z ultra.

  • albert

Guys, how’s battery life? Screen time on? Can it go through full day with heavy use?

  • nishantsirohi123

well for most part these “dark places” are nightclubs and people go there to party with their friends

  • nishantsirohi123

my note 2 now feels like a dwarf

  • MMS

I will be getting one later this week. I hope there are no issues with its wifi like what some Z owners experience. By the way I usually wear jeans. Will putting it in my pocket put its glass body at risk from cracking?

  • faysal

that’s why there’s HDR. night clubs are not fully dark they still have light (dim lights) so i dont see that as a huge problem.

  • ksmayank11

I am totally satisfied with the performance. the battery drains in 9 to 10 hrs but I am always connected to a wifi hotshot
Had some issues with the proximity sensor turning off the screen during calls but figured out it was due to the protective screen guard. Pulled it off. works perfectly now. Some distortion when I wake up the display but it’s not a fatal issue.
    Overall it’s a 9/10

  • Kenny L

I’ve been reading comments and even seeing video blogs by owners claiming that the screen is faulty. They say it blanks out, and refuses to display anything. How true is this? Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Thanks

  • Etienne Hilson

Thank you very much for your very nice report :-)
I think I will be as happy as you with it in a few months here in Belgium.
I pray Sony will build a version of this phone with better battery (kind of 4000 or 5000 mAh). Even if the phone is 3mm thicker and a bit heavier, I don’t care if I can play and really ENJOY wonderful moments of fun with it at any time :-)

  • Etienne Hilson

I encountered that issue (with other phones) when I use it plugged to the charger. If I unplug it, it was fine.
Is it your case or not ?

  • Kenny L

Once you remove the screen guard, won’t the screen be unprotected against scratches?

  • ouk

No. I think that it’s just the fact that the screen is very sensitive. It’s also probably due to the fact that there’s the screen protective layer on the screen that makes it to responsive or less responsive at times.

  • Kevin_Cheong

Big screen big entertainment but comes with VERY POOR sound quality. The phone function is big neglected especially the speaker performance is really below low cost phone. Dear guys, be brave to admit the poor sound quality of this Xperia Z Ultra. It seems like Sony has lost their quality of phone. They just focused on big screen. What is the use if it serve as entertainment without delivering decent sound quality. Big mistake. Owner of 10 days Xperia Z Ultra.

  • stonebrick

Well.this issue is fix by turning off the lock screen i was using the swipe style after turning it off i never experienced it again but after the latest firmware update now its fine.

  • Tim

Loved the phone bought it after I got the xperia z tablet, but it worked for 21 days then sudden death. I turned it off with 83% battery left and it would not turn back on,no hard restart either. New phone on the way I hope no issues with this one. Expensive phone for that to happen!

  • gaspah

wouldn’t that be because of the water-proofing?

  • Hasnain Maec Abbas

nerds dont go to partys :P

  • Hasnain Maec Abbas

before i put in my review.. id like to point out 1 thing…. I AM A SONY FAN… i have been using xperias for pretty much 2 years now.. from arc s to xperia S to xperia T to xperia Z and now Xperia Z ultra…and hopefuly Honami when it gets launched… besides the Xperia line… all the laptops i ever had are from vaio… out of 5 LED tvs in my house 4 are from Sony 5 (if u count the old school 32inch sony tv)… the camera i own is from sony too, the gaming headsets i use are from sony too…so basically for me Sony has always been fav brand… ok now to the review
xperia Z ultra is basically a xperia Z with a thin body, better display, nerfed camera and a very fast processor.. it doesnt comes with a stylus despite the fact it badly needs one… this is not a every day phone.. i sold my xperia Z 2 days ago and i have already started missing it… its not that Ultra is a bad phone its just… too big … i am a 6 feet 2 225lbs guy with big hands and i can easly hold the ultra in one hand but its still kind of awkward using it or getting use to its feeling in my hand…. compared to my nexus 7 the ultra is far slimer, far better looking and far smaller so its definitly not a tablet but as the phone is very tall it does feels like one…that is where the major con comes in… Its way too tall there is a very big bazel at top and bottom of the phone.. if sony had managed to shrink it a bit this it would have felt alot more easy to use and “phoneish” instead of “tablish”…. thats where the Cons about the ultra ends..
as once u turn it on the triluminos display kicks in things start getting far far better… this is best display sony has put on any of their phones, the colours are pretty nice and compared to my wife’s GS4 look far more realistic… the cpu is super fast though i never noticed any lag even with my old xperia Z.. ultra gave me the highest scores in 3d mark and antutu so i guess its true that z ultra is at top of the food chain (even vs other snapdragon 800 powered phones) LG g2 and GS4 with sd800 are behind the utlra…. video play back is really good along with the usual walkman music enhancments… the camera takes very decent snaps as long as you have good lighting conditions because of lack of flash ( very stupid of sony) . the battery time seems alrite pretty much the same timing as i had with the Z without the stamina mode … (i havent tested the stamina mode on ultra yet)…
something which is not a con but more of a annoyance is that there should be some kind of tutorial for this phone… as i still havent figured out how to get the 1 hand keyboard to kick in… and there is just 1 app bundled called “sketch” where you can use a pen or stylus or pencil ……. i hope sony makes some dedicated apps for the ultra as thats the reason ppl buy the samsung note series.

  • Etienne Hilson

Thank you very much for you complete and different feedback. It is cool, so we have very different point of view and interesting ideas.
When I read you, I just had a HUGE fear ! You told there is just one app where you can use pen/stylus/pencil, but did you mean that this is the only app “optimised” for it, or do you mean that you can use the pen/stylus/pencil ONLY in that app, and you cannot use them in place of your finger in the rest of the UI (menus, other apps, notification bar, …) ?
With the stylus of the Samsung Galaxy Note, we could use it everywhere, except some games which did not recognize it (Subway Surfer for instance)

  • Hasnain Maec Abbas

sorry i didnt made it clear…. like the note you can use the stylus everywhere on ui instead of ur finger. u can use it to tap icons and pretty much everything even camera settings can be tweaked using the stylus…what i ment was that there is just 1 dedicated app for stylus where u can draw and stuff like that… i am sure we can find plenty others on the playstore …hope that clears it…
btw if you are a note 2 user u will love the ultra… it does lacks stylus but than again u can use any pencil or pen in its place……if you hav any other questions please feel free to ask me.

  • Etienne Hilson

Thank you very much for the clarification :-)
I am user of the Note 1 and I loved it, and I really think I will love even more the Ultra. My only concerns were about the use of the pen/pencil and the battery autonomy to be sure I will buy it or not. Reading great reviews and comments like your are very important and very nice for me :-) Thank you again :-) I cannot wait to buy it here in Belgium ;-)

  • nishantsirohi123

u need 2 stay still for HDR images
u think that is possible at clubs(shows what u know)

  • faysal

turn up the iso then fool. and you need to stay still for all kind of photo taking idiot. who the hell takes picture while theyre jumping around? you stupid or something? your logic is your hands shake all over the place while you take picture WTF you must suck at taking picture.

  • faysal

coming from a guy who looks over weight and the way you look, looks like you still living in the 90s LOL and you called me nerd cz im on this site? then that makes you nerd too!

I think i better wait for the LTE version to launch first. By then, they would’ve completed the finishing touches so phone will be stable, in terms of hardware and firmware…i’m still very cautious about the “screen death” issue

  • faysal

LOL anybody can take picture and make them look good on instagram.. nothing to be proud of. and i don’t understand why you are complaining about HDR needing to be still who the hell shakes their hands while taking picture?

  • farhen

How to use the ‘easy-toggle keyboard’ where u can shift ur keyboard on one side? I can’t. Find it in my phone. Aaaand plus i cant record videos in water. And the.screen couldn’t respond in water. Help meeee

  • nishantsirohi123

    FYI
i do not use instagram for those filters. i use instagram for sharing pictures with the world
photography is not all about lighting
and taking pictures of moving objects is an art in itself, u need not stay still for all pictures, again shows what you know, all opinion, no information.

  • faysal

shows what i know? all i know is you are one dumbass that’s the impression i got. the object you take picture of can move but if your hand moves around just when the cam about to take picture it will be ruined! and no its not art its just you suck at taking picture. and no I’m not a PAKISTANI stubborn guy (lucky you edited it out on time) that just shows what kind of low level person you are… tell you the truth your pictures are OK? just cz you can hold a camera and know how to press the shutter button doesn’t make you a photographer. i know cz i do multimedia and taking picture and making movie is just my everyday thing. if you presented those picture in my project trust me you would get rejected. no opinion all facts, why? cz i know more then you do FACT. come to UK i will give you a lesson on photography one day.

  • nishantsirohi123

    share your work

so that i may be able to give an opinion

  • faysal

i dont need your opinion when im working with teachers who have worked in Hollywood production and bbc documentary… most of my work are done on adobe and video production software like sony vagas which i cant post here. all my work is in my college network if you come to UK i will be happy to give you some example with free lesson too!

  • nishantsirohi123

proven … bombastic talks, in the air, must be a pakistani

  • nishantsirohi123

this is a phone you can scare children with

  • faysal

the fuck is bombastic talk? speak english maybe? and now you are just getting silly you tosser. if you don’t have any valid point i suggest you STFU( you probably don’t know what it means) you curry smelling indians love to bum lick pakis dont ya? you went from taking picture with flash to me being a paki? what level of imbecile cunt are you? i feel sorry for you with your pathetic life. when you dont have any valid point left you start to include country’s in to the debate WTF? people like you have an education yet your still as dumb as people who used to belive world was flat LOL

  • Hasnain Maec Abbas

u know Sarcasm? i mean really was that the best a idiot like u could come up with? NERD isnt a insult idiot.. everyone who is into tech and looks at minor details is considered a tech nerd… and as for overweight lol yeah sure… u really hurt my feelings and i feel bad about being overweight…if 88kg and 6 feet 2 inch height seems overweight to u… next time learn to understand abit of sarcasm “:P” is there for a reason…

  • faysal

I bought this for a week now and updated to latest firmware. The problem im experiencing right now is this touch problem especially when turning on from standby mode. It’s like it keeps on tapping a single area so it gets messy.

I bought this phone since july and here are my thoughts:
    pros:
FHD big screen which makes reading webpages easy without zooming
video and gaming experience is epic
I consider this phone a definite keeper for those who like big phones and use it as a computer on the go..

    cons:
-although battery life is decent, I can get the whole day with normal to minimal use but with heavy use, I was expecting more though.

    – phone could have been more pocket-able if the upper and lower bezels were narrower.

-the phone has a little sharp edges which makes holding it for a long time uncomfortable but overall OK..

-the absence of flash is a BIG disappointment for me because I sometimes I need to use my phone as a torch from time to time and immediate or emergency situations.. for example when searching for something under the desk or fixing something behind my PC-
those small simple tasks can greatly increase the phones value and overall satisfaction experience, but now I feel like I want 10 years backwards and need to search for a torch every time I need immediate light.
and I don’t need to talk about the importance of flash for a camera!!

-screen touch is TOO sensitive even micro droplets of water or from a sweaty hands can make the screen go crazy and is big annoyance especially when typing..

-the software is too primitive for the phones true capabilities:

*video app cant play all formats, and cant stream simple video formats over wifi.

*the notes app: Im sure you guys can make a professional app! I mean whats the point of going though the trouble of making pencils work and not supporting the function with professional software to show it off?! I was expecting a phone with this size and pen capabilities can be a alternative for professional note taking, cloud sync…etc
but now I have to search the app store for a suitable app and I dont think there is an app which can understand the pen writing technology of the phone..at least not yet..

    conclusion:
after using the phone I am left with an uncomfortable mixed feeling of joy and disappointment which makes my decision of permanently replacing my old phone for xperia z ultra, a rather unclear decision..

Yes my screen is going haywire. Sliding typing Selects each individual key I slide over sometimes. Other moments the phone goes hyperactive and selects random stuff at a crazy rate, changing settings and deleting stuff while doing so. I am seriously considering returning it. Also types full stops by itself just lik. This whe. I typ. Away will. Sliding m. Fingers.

  • phill

Same here. Haywire random selection of screen. Sliding typin. Does this al. The time. Becoming a deal breake. Fir me

Thank you for that interesting feedback. Thanks to you, we know that it is important to buy it at a shop for which returning is easy and quick, in case we got the same issue than yours. I hope you will have quick the one which replace yours.

Just received mine an hour ago. Fantastic bit of kit! Gorgeous screen, only thing that let’s it down is lack of stereo speakers. Got this with the smart watch 2 as well…really nice. Very happy with this!

I have had it for a month now. It is the best device that I have ever seen. Firstly, the design. God, that is one of the best designs you will ever see. It doesn’t feel heavy at all and is unbelievably slim. The screen is bright and one of the best displays ever. The few flaws in the phone are the poor sound output, pocketability and lack of camera flash.
But I recommend it to everyone. It is worth it.

Coming from HTC m8. Got a z ultra as my 2nd phone/spare. Love the screen size brightness and color reproduction.

Things I dislike /hope for improvement.
    1) OS responsiveness, compared to the m8. It’s really laggy. 801 vs 800.. No excuses for being the slightly older chip. The Ui needs some attention
    2) Repair cost from official service center, my friend was quoted 600sgd (app.450usd) for screen replacement. Sony REALLY? And I can buy one new at 750sgd (650sgd. on qoo10.com)
    3) The port cover came loose after awhile. Rubber seal seems to wear out. Make them chunky and durable please. (or at least allow a easy way for replacement)
    4) More battery life.
    5) The stock screenprotector w Sony logo on it or whatever is it called. Wtf whyyyyyy!? I got a dinge on that. And no option to replacement them. Just let us have normal glass. We will put our own protector. Or try sell us one instead. Seriously….
