Xperia Z1_14.1.G.1.534Just a few days ago we saw firmware build 14.1.G.1.531 start to roll out for the Sony Xperia Z1 and now another firmware version has been released. Firmware build 14.1.G.1.534 appears to be a minor release for the LTE SKU of the Xperia Z1 (C6903). If you’ve downloaded it let us know any changes you’ve noticed – we’re not sure if it fixes the headset bug reported on earlier. If you want to download and install the FTF using Flashtool, then click here for more information.

So does the C6903 model support the LTE networks in the states? Particularly AT&T?

  • If it’s like the Z and ZL, the Cxx06 will be the US/North American LTE band compatible version. I have the ZL C6506 and works perfectly on AT&T. So fast!

  • Tom

Anyone else having wifi problems? Seems to drop out a lot and struggle to connect sometimes.

  • Colby Leong

I’m jealous, where’d you get yours from, the place I get mines only has the ’03 model

  • Ping surachaikasem

Where is xperia z (6603) update?

  • HEY

This is not an official firmware update. This is prototype software fyi…

  • Jing

I ordered the C6943 from NegriElectronics, receiving it in a couple days. How come I dont see this model anywhere? Anyone know anything about this?

  • Colby Leong

    So AT&T 4G LTE compatible?

  • Skeptic

I wish they’d make an update that improves the camera. 20MP sounds cool on paper. But the software for it seems rushed. I’d imagine you could have a number of image sizes to choose from like 20MP, 16MP, 12MP, 8MP, etc… But no, the Z1 seems to skip everything in between 20MP and 8MP size. Also, the Superior Auto mode on the xperia Z, gave us 12MP photos which was understandable considering the max size of 13MP isn’t far. But on the Z1 superior auto gives only 8MP which is such a joke considering a camera that can produce 20MP photos.

I have a question Does the LED notification light only work when you plug it to the charger, cause I still have this on my XperiaZ the LED notification light only operate when the charger is on which is a joke. any ??

  • Ghareeb Saeed

Fo’real?? So again the camera is a lottery? are they gonna get it fixed ? any word from Sony regards that issue ?!!

  • xperiaftw

    xperia ftw

  • Colby Leong

Free with the purchase of an Xperia Z1. Japan Only

  • Micro

And this is what Samsung will never be able to copy. Ever.

  • fmc159

It works without the charger. I have the the Xperia Z as well and the light also works without the charger…there is problem with your handset if it only works with the charger plugged in, although it’s probably just a software issue/setting

  • Babylonbwoy

Did you check the option in display menu ? If not no notif will work.

  • penubag

True, because koreans look like squirrels. All they want are nuts

  • penubag

Mine works fine, your’s might be defective or you changed some settings

  • uidesigner_sony

    Multisampling says hello.

I’m pretty sure there is something inherently wrong with Android 4.2.2’s wifi stack. I have tried both a Z and a SGS4 on 4.2 and WPA2 Enterprise is broken, also even under optimal conditions, both will disconnect randomly from a working router (laptops, iPads, Xperia S all connect fine).

  • the_black_dragon

It is not an Issue… the camera uses oversampling similar like Nokia Pure View… the Lumia 1020 shoots 5MP Pics in Auto Mode with an 40MP sensor… the target is not to shoot higher Resolution pics but to get as much Picture Information as possible to eliminate noise and Errors when putting the Picture in an useful size of 8MP

  • Cristi13

You just went full retard, a racist full retard.

  • Cristi13

Last time i checked, this is an article about sony, you didn’t had to bring Samsung into this.

  • Jing

Which region is this model from? It should be AT&T 4G capable.

C6943 is ONLY compatible with AT&T LTE band 4. The problem is, most of AT&T’s LTE network is band 17. Band 4 is very limited, so unless you’re sitting really close to a tower using band 4, you’ll be on HSPA+. If you want full AT&T LTE support, you’ll need C6906, which currently is not available anywhere (that you’d actually order from).

  • moogoo

err.. if its coming from Sony, i’d say it’s official. a minor update, yes. but still official and still an update. and it’s been available in many regions globally, so it should be past prototype stage..

  • arifkpi

I want to unboxing this Xperia!

  • Colby Leong

I got my last phone from NegriElectronics, they only have C6903 currently, in all colors. I just asked if they would be getting the C6906 model, so I’ll let you know.

  • Jing

They removed the C6943 the day after I preordered it and replaced it with the C6903 currently showing on their website. I dont see this C6943 in any unboxing or reviews. I am worried if its going to be a defective product since it isnt(maybe) released to the market yet.

The camera still has issues, a lot of noise and over sharpening. Other things are focus, the best thing to solve from superior auto, is switching to manual and try to get the picture by setting specific modes, 2 examples are backlight HDR for indoors with bright light and night mode when there is no light, those 2 so far I have tested, I will do some outdoors but the quality still pretty good if you use the right mode.

  • the_black_dragon

yep Manual mode can bring some very nice shots.. the automatic mode uses high iso values to use a short shutter time to avoid blurry Pictures when moving.
