Xperia Z1 for T-Mobile USA press pic leaks

in Rumours, Xperia Z1

Xperia Z1 T-MobileThere was always a good chance that the Sony Xperia Z1 would be picked up by T-Mobile in the US, especially since it was the only carrier to offer the Xperia Z with appropriate LTE bands. Well it looks like T-Mobile will also offer the Xperia Z1, judging by the leaked press pic courtesy of @evleaks.

This is likely to mean that if you were hopeful of Sony Mobile releasing an unlocked Xperia Z1 (C6906) with LTE bands compatible for the US market, you’ll be out of luck. We understand that Sony will still release an unlocked version of the Xperia Z1 in the US at some point, although this will be the HSPA+ model (C6902). If you want the LTE model, however, you’ll have to go through T-Mobile.

Lol, sony you kill me with your weird us market approach

  • http://fujibayashi.jp/ Xiatian

Do you mean Sony’s “no, we won’t do CDMA so no, Verizon is out of question” approach?

  • Guest

Hope it has an updated display. Lol

  • ImAnurag

Anyone noticed ? It has different design than XZ1 C6902/3/6, See “Secondary Microphone” just like Xperia Z has and 3.5mm headphone jack is somewhat shifted towards center.

  • lovebmw

    I was expecting a 4g unlocked

  • phan

    Bring it on!

  • Борис Михаилов

Add the “Xperia” vs “Sony” logos on Z and Z1.

  • thelastredshirt

Newegg already has the HSPA+ C6902 listed and in stock for $729.99: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875212291

Please @sony remove this fuc*ing carrier logo from your phones!!!!!!!

  • Engineer

Anyone noticed ? THE BEZEL IS SO HUGE…

  • Manuel Maldonado Turcios

Haha! I’ve got JUMP with T-Mobile! Definitely upgrading from my Xperia Z.

  • Xyor

I’m definitely switching to tmo now..

  • Xyor

It has been used on the new Arrows NX.

  • TjaldidTjaldid

I love this now that we have reached essentially the maximum resolution we can now focus on the screen tech like brightness, color gamut and energy efficiency

  • Andy Guerrero

    FINALLY!

  • spade

ROFL, of course we noticed that, it’s pretty cool isn’t it :P

  • igel705

and claps for the sd-card and usb-port are different too. the “holes” too open them are in the middle of the clap…not directly next to each other.

Hopefully T-mobile doesn’t cripple it like they did the Z

  • Xyor

The least that Sony could do for us poor Sony fans who hooked with att for either ion or TL is to release their flagship unlocked with att compatibility

  • Babylonbwoy

Hey guys, the handset is released, we can touch it in shop, there is many reviews and videos. If it doesn’t fit your needs then go ahead and choose another one.
No need to cry no more about bezels, they won’t change suddenly.

Wait for next Flagship or switch brand or…

  • Babylonbwoy

They are fucking hard to open on Z1 !

  • Draek

Well, that’s depressing… does this mean it’ll be impossible to order a C6906 model from anywhere on the net? Or can one be bought through T-Mo, unlocked and then used with whomever?

  • Babylonbwoy

The device you’re talking about have been released this summer and it has 5.2-inch full HD display.

JDI said that they started mass production how can they supply something that they are producing now for a device released in june ?

  • spade

Come on dude, no need to be serious, just for humor ;)

  • Xyor

The new NX. Japanese manufacturers like to use the same name under different devices. Sharp’s Docomo flagships are called zeta and Softbank flagships are called Xx

  • Brandon Dean

Just remove the rear screen protector. Its printed on the protector and not on the phone. That however, will also take the xperia logo off as well.

  • Brandon Dean

Same here, glad I signed up for it now. I will definitely be getting my money’s worth out of it now.

  • http://daddye.it/ DAddYE

    Doesn’t it void warranty?

  • [A]dri[A]n

That’s not really up to Sony.

  • http://daddye.it/ DAddYE

    It is. Like for Apple.

  • [A]dri[A]n

Yeah, but that’s Apple. The carriers will do anything to have the iPhone. Sony doesn’t have anywhere near the reputation to demand such thing’s.

  • Dean Shahed

FFS! Get your nice ass on AT&T already! I swear if this is another T-Mobile exclusive I’m switching fuck you AT&T.

  • @atWidget

Wow! 2 days later and NOBODY speak about that…

    T-Mobile etc… = LOCKED BOOTLOADER FOR LIFE!!!

  • Babylonbwoy

Ok it’s cool then, it’s just that 6 months of reading bezel discussion makes me nervous when I see this word! ;)

  • Brandon Dean

That I don’t know for sure. But with the phone being in perfect condition otherwise, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. It would cost Sony itself very little to put another screen protector on it.

  • Manuel Maldonado Turcios

For sure, they just added FREE data coverage in more than 100 countries.

  • haoasakura0

dumb question but can’t you get the c6903 which supports tmobile lte?
