Big update expected for Xperia L as new firmware (15.3.A.0.26) gets certified

by XB on 23rd October 2013

in Firmware, Xperia L

Xperia L_15.3.A.0.26The Sony Xperia L (C2104, C2105) could shortly be receiving a meaty update judging by the latest firmware to be certified over at the PTCRB. Build version 15.3.A.0.26 has been certified, which compares to the current version with build number 15.0.A.2.17.

So we are seeing the firmware jump from a template of 15.0.A.X.XX to 15.3.A.X.XX, likely indicating that we are seeing a big update on the horizon. This may be an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update, or, is it too early for Android 4.3? The latter is unlikely but as soon as we hear more we’ll let you know.

Xperia L_15.3.A.0.26

Thanks Mr tripe!

Hope it’s 4.2.2 then we can get 4.3 Hopefully :)

  • JEp

    Oh god!
I can’t wait for this update!!
    :D

    Wait a sec… I don’t have a Xperia L.
    T,T

  • Micro

ok, seriously, if this is gonna get 4.3 before my Z1, I will make a wooden Sony logo with my bare hands, I will paint it, polish it, and then I will break the chair on it O_O

  • lucasarg

    4.2 very soon!

  • @atWIdget

    Yeahhh 4.3 for my Z1!!!… OH… WAIT???

  • Joel16

Dude it says Xperia “L” lol

  • Joel16

Hope it’s 4.3 :) with latest album and playstore app

  • Micro

    that’s exactly his point ;)

  • Cristiano de Oliveira

Oh, I like that. x) But I’m still hope xperia L gets 4.4 too. T_T

  • [csizor

I personally would be satisfied with 4.2 or 4.3, what I’d really want so bad is Android Kitkat for my lovely XL. No matter if I’m getting Xperia Z1 S next year, if so, then I’ll give my L to my girlfriend and she also deserves nice updates :)

  • Uchiha Dare Nial

Still,no clue for Xperia ion 6.2.B.1.96 jellybean update which fix the .211 jellybean bug…damn Sony, you left ion user with 4.1.2 bugged jellybean,at least do make us happy like what you did to Xperia S,SL and acro S user…If you are planning to give us a surprise Jellybean 4.3 don’t make us suffer at least :(

Ok, it defenately looks lika Sony dont really care about their 2012 models anymore. Not even the one that allmost got released at the same as Xperia Z. Kinda sad. Sure, Xperia V works kinda ok. Stable and everything. But why havent we gotten any information about 4.2 or even 4.3 yet? And it aint that perfect. There is still things that could go smoother with Xperia V but no. Not even that is released. It seems like the phone made by Sony and developed by Sony is the phones that they do care the most about. The phone that were released by Sony, but developed by Sony Ericsson is not interesting anymore.

  • APai

    …join the queue :)
    it’s deja vu for S/ T/ Z etc users

  • trnz

C’mon Sony update Xperia ion too……..

  • Guest

The reason Sony doesn’t care about 2012 Xperia is because they are left overs from Sony Ericsson. Tough shit! If all you have to complain about is phone updates, you got a pretty good life :|

  • lol

in your dream. sony won’t update midrange category jump into 3 generation android even they using flagship. if u look 4.4 only for xperia ZU/Z1 and 2014 xperia only.

sony want to sell more smartphone so how they market their phone, give flagship 1 generation behind current and then jump 2 generation android, for mid-range it only jump 1 generation. so if u look. Z series will receive up to 4.3 including sp and C, for xperia L 4.2 only *this is based on how sony software treat customer except 2011 xperia

  • lol

hope they fix bug in phone storage…..i don’t expect sony update to 4.3 even L capable to support that

  • lol

xperia M, already 4.2 lol, except single sim(if i’m not wrong

  • saif

  • Cristiano de Oliveira

weew! Xperia L hopefully will receive too. :3

  • lol

lol, xperia Ion is NOT flagship phone, there are 2 Flagship phone for 2012. Xperia S and Xperia T/TX, Xperia sl refresh from SL so not considered as flagship and ION is phablet device same as Z Ultra

  • lol

SP is successor P, C is successor of GO, so if you think again u will find that this phone will update 2 major platform. but L is successor of sola.

  • Uchiha Dare Nial

I really think is it Sony’s flagship since Xperia ion is the first to have LTE on Sony’s smartphone

  • Jerry Berglund

Didn’t comment on this to complain, more stating a fact.

    India! !

  • Micro

I made it for you, perhaps you’d feel a little better ;PP
(stupid disqus, ruined my surprise ;P but I had good intentions! :D)

  • Micro

oh well, they got the update.. seems Sony saved me a lot of time of making that logo ;) They got JB, they didn’t get 4.3 before Z1, win win ;]

  • APai

T getting 4.1 isn’t a cause for celebration, as it was supposed to launch with 4.1, it runs just fine, but you know when, it’s a competitor to s3 and if s3 gets 4.3 before T – then sony is tardy. they’ve been doing good, but at the end of the day i still do not have updates to my phone (I could go for CM, but that’s besides the point). sony will make an announcement that T might get 4.3 soon, and we’ll end up getting the update at the end of May 2014, by that time, my phone would have been worn out and I probably would be holding onto a nexus 5, fed up with sony’s incompetence at delivering updates to at least flagship phones

  • Uchiha Dare Nial

Thanks, but I am much sadder now lol

  • Riri

the new UI failed to memorize the apps saved in internal storage when it’s placed in a folder at homescreen. so everytime I order them and restarted the phone, it’s all gone from the folder except for the apps that’s originally installed in phone. please fix it.
