That phone actually looks really nice, not low end at all.
Also, XB, how come you don’t put the time of publish on your articles, only the date?

Where’s our 4.3 update Sony…I hope it will release in this night…we want it immediately…plz give it quickly

  • XperiaBlog

    Why does it matter?

  • XperiaBlog

We saw those yesterday on XDA but haven’t published as it’s not meaningful without the full samples. Also, some of the testing conditions between both handsets aren’t consistent. We’ll wait for a better set of photos before publishing. Thanks!

Just that it would look nice. would appreciate if time was there.. thanks.

  • ImAnurag

yes it would be good XB if you start doing so, it looks good…It won’t matter :)

Unfortunately Sony is screwing up with the updates again. 4.3 is over a month late while 4.4 is nowhere to be seen when Samsung and HTC are already updating their flagships.

    sometimes , yes…

The issue is we have writers in different time zones – sticking a time zone would not relate to the actual posting time. The site runs on GMT in terms of date, but not sure what value it would add by including the time too. We’re obviously open to feedback where this might be useful!

  • ImAnurag

Ok if you have set GMT in Time settings, so when other writers write post in their dashboard, you can ask them to choose GMT settings as default so whenever any writer publish post, all timings for all writers will be displayed in GMT.

Oh dear! The Xperia E is massively outgunned compared with the universally praised new Motorola Moto G. By comparison the MOTO G has:-
    ~ Bigger, brighter 4.5″ 720p screen
    ~ faster processor: Qualcomm quad-core A7 1.2GHz (Adreno 305 450MHz GPU)
~ double the memory at 1GB
    ~ Fast 3.5G speeds
    ~ WiFi
    ~ better 5MP main camera + 720p video
    ~ 1.3MP front camera

Prices? Moto G with 8GB is about £130, and with 16GB about £170. Compare that with £135-145 for Xperia E and it loses every time. The Xperia E would need to be about £80 to be decent value by comparison. So Sony’s claim that it is the ‘world’s best smartphone in its class’ is nonsense. Again.

Sadly the Xperia E is just another underpowered, under-specified and very over-priced phone from Sony. Shop carefully people and don’t believe all you read, especially from manufacturers. Check independent websites like Mobile Gazette, GSM Arena, What Mobile, Phone Arena, and others for a non-partisan, neutral overview of phones and compare specifications and prices before you buy every time.

See my post just now on the Motorola Moto G, which is a much better phone and a little cheaper too!

  • This news is in English, but … :

“Sony to buy the factory that produces DRAM chip Wii U

Sony intends to purchase the manufactures not to produce components for their consoles, but rather CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) to their smartphones.”

Never gonna buy another sony. Just see how much I spent in getting that stylus es22 for my z ultra. Sony accessories are scare in the US :(

  • XperiaBlog

Okay thanks ImAnurag, we’ll consider it for the future! :-)

  • XperiaBlog

Dave, can’t argue against your point at all. The Moto G is tremendous value for money and having played extensively with one, we do think how any Android manufacturer competes in the entry-level segment again. Obviously the Moto G does have limitations with no memory card and poor camera – however we can’t see the Xperia E1’s 3MP camera doing any better …

Thanks, I appreciate it. I agree with ImAnurag, its better SEO and I think it looks nicer. GMT is fine. I would really like it.
I also appreciate that you respond to us as well, it’s good to know you care :)

The HTC One mini and Galaxy S4 mini are a disgrace to the term flagship “mini”. One should never consider buying a mini of these two if he has the cash to buy a Z1 mini, a true mini.

4.3 was released dec 16th 2013, if you did not get it yet, its because your mobile provider has not approved the update in conjunction with their own bloatware

  • ayyo

Im not sure about their prices either… india, moto g is rumoured to come at around 15k to 18~19k…. And xperia e1 most likely below 12k….(9k to 11.5k range)….. So i dont think both represent the same segment!

@ ayyo – Well the Moto G is a bit cheaper than the Xperia E is reported to be here in Britain.

Very interesting thing I just come across at – I could choose any number of pants and shirts (from the list) at very heavy discount rates (up to 75% off online) – more we buy more discount – I never seen this before.
