Sony Xperia Sirius_2A week ago we reported on a genuine back panel part for the upcoming Sony D6503 Sirius listed by Japanese spare parts retailer Moumantai. The same retailer has now listed the front panel for the “Xperia Z2 (Sirius)”. The phone is heading to NTT DoCoMO in Japan judging by the part, the DoCoMo logo sits atop the front panel with the SONY logo towards the bottom. The part is listed for 15,000 Yen (c$147), although you cannot order it just yet. We hopefully will hear more on Sirius next Monday at Sony’s MWC press conference.

  • Hope the bezel is smaller than most Sony phones we’ve seen.

  • bossman

Sony must stop ignoring market expectations. We want phones without bezels, FULL STOP! PERIOD!

  • Alfie De Castro

Docomo should be aggressive about updates of their Smartphone products.. they are so behind..

  • Shelta

The best bezel-less phone is the ZL. Don’t know why they don’t design any further phones like this. Maybe because the ZL didn’t sell that much?

  • ????? ????????

    Not everybody.

  • bryan

I hope they update this phone with better display, bigger battery, and retain those sexy bezels.

Bezeless phones looks ugly. Xperia Z1, Htc One and Iphone 5s but why people claiming it best designed smartphone and not LG G2 and Galaxy s4?

Bezeless phones looks ugly. Xperia Z1, Htc One and Iphone 5s has BIG bezels but why people claiming it best designed smartphone and not LG G2 and Galaxy s4?

  • Kurt Kobaine

But ZL is the only exception

  • Mirrorpurple

    bezels too slim imo

  • Kurt Kobaine

Yup thats what we heard from the rumors so far

  • Faisal Armand

Dude, if you want a phone with thin bezels you must sacrifice waterproof feature. Because all waterproof phones have big bezels (Samsung S4 active, Xperia Z,ZR,Z1,ZU,Z1C,V,Acro S)

And those big bottom and top bezels are there for a good reason. There are waterproof tape in those big bottom and top bezels, and that tape is used to keep water from entering the phone even further.

So the choice is up to you guys. Waterproof or thin bezels? Choose one

  • Gutt Grinder

Are you sure you know what you’re talking?

Phone without bezels? Its impossible where are you going to put the microphone without any bezels.. LOL

    Go home you’re drunk…

  • Gutt Grinder

    Yeah me too…

I will be really careful if I own this phone, looks very fragile.. XD

  • Mirrorpurple

the bezels might crack while holding your phone har har

  • laci_csk

Yeah the bezel now its too slim, we want large and huge bezel.

  • Shelta

I don’t need a waterproof phone. It’s a cool feature but not my first choice. A thinner, state-of-the-art 2014 Xperia ZL with omnibalance design and glass back would be the perfect phone for me.

  • redwan

    i want sony xperia z2. :)

  • Kurt Kobaine

Big bezels is a problem before but now slim bezels is a problem too. People always gt somthing to complain

  • Mirrorpurple

    Ikr… My Z1 is perfect <3

  • jangaleon

lol..you can never really please people. first they want slim bezels, then they gave u slim bezels and u complain. -_-

  • jangaleon

well there you go about the slim bezels.

  • Mirrorpurple

    Greedy customers

bezels aren’t small, you are looking at the back of the panel, the LCD part that is glued on the glass

  • Mirrorpurple

    The sides?

  • lovebmw

Well you need a frame, the frame will add some thickness…

  • mustafa

    Sexy

  • Makiz

    Exactly ;-)

  • Tjaldid

the microphone would go beneath the phone but you should have rather asked where would the camera go

  • Opinion

it not include with the aluminium frame yet.when include the frame,it will be perfect size

  • Fynjy7771

Absolutly agree! I bought ZL cause I like slim bezels very much, cause it’s a flagship and cause I like Sony, and I guess there many customers like me. And for what should I change my ZL now in 2014?… Still waiting for slim bezels from Sony.

  • laci_csk

    Too big.

  • Clamser

Should be that all those who argue that the bezel Sony Smartphones are ugly or all idiots, insinuated the same thing.
I’m really sorry for our Sony Fanboys who think like they drank water from their nostrils, This trend is clear has required, We want Bordless display at Sony and update our devices in the best delays .
These three models offer the display with bordrless while also being waterproof,

Stopped to defend Sony, it is not a newborn (baby)

To be in a location it must be merited, So Sony Act now accordingly

  • Z1ZLIndia

Bezel big then problem, bezel small then also problem :D
What’s the point, why they should think of small bezel as it didn’t succeed the ZL ?

  • Faisal Armand

It is a matter of preference though.

Me myself prefer waterproof feature because I like to bring my phone to wet places such as swimming pool and my own bathroom (if you know what I mean :p) and bezels never were a bother to me as long as the phone looks gorgeous (Xperia Z1, and HTC One for example)

But I really hate it when people blindly complain about bezels all the time while they know nothing about why the big bezels are there.

Take Xperia Z1 and Z2 “sirius” for example, people complain about its big bezels all the time but they don’t know that those bezels are being put into good use.

First, as I mentioned before waterproofing is the first good use

Second. For those of you who haven’t watch Xperia Z1 disassembly, let me tell you that the camera module is BIG. It is big that I thought to myself, “wow, sony’s engineers must be geniouses to put a camera that big into 8.5mm phone without making a bulge like lumia 1020 or making a phone look like a shoe (S4 Zoom)” and the size of the camera module makes the construction of thin top bezel impossible.

As for me, I give a score of 100 to the design aspect of Xperia Z1

So if you guys really want a sony phone with thin bezels, be sure to ready to lose both the waterproof feature and that amazing 20MP camera

Stop complaining! Small bezels most likely mean more screen on a phone. At least percentage wise. So just be thankful that they are at least listening to customers and amending their designs. I personally think they are too big for the z2 – they should make them smaller. But that’s just me and that’s just me.

  • Scott

Too be fair, your the greedy one!

  • Fynjy7771

If Sony, HTC and Apple would reduce bezels, their devices would be better looking. Design doesn’t depend on bezel’s thickness.

  • xperiafan324

This is the shots from the inside of the front panel. Expect bezels to be thicker than that, twice as thick in thos picture would fall in line with the leaks. Let’s just see if sony gives thia aone a proper triluminos ips display. Here’s to hoping the speakers and presumably an amp in there somewhere being awesome

  • JG

Though, majority or 90 percent bought the z or z1 not the ZL. So why make a none water proof phone? Waterproof phone is one of the main feature of Sony phones nowadays.

  • Kurt Kobaine

What are u smoking? S4 active gt big bezels and thick

  • Hosam Ebrahim

If this is true, this will be my next phone

  • Gutt Grinder

    Good one, I stand corrected..

If there is no bezels? Where are you going to put the FRONT camera?

I guess I should’ve said it that way..

    Peace y’all… :D

  • bossman

Say I’m drunk if u wanna sleep with your sister. Sony’s bezels take up too much space

  • Shelta

I know that there’s a good reason for the bezels on a waterproof phone. And I’m not a hater who always complains about those bezels. But except for the waterproof feature you can’t deny that the front design of the ZL is the best so far. Even if you look at the size specs you can compare the ZL almost with the Xperia Z1 Compact! So there’s also a good reason for all people who don’t need the waterproof feature. But when I look at the newer Sony smartphones like Z1 and the upcoming Sirius I think that a “ZL2” is not their intention anymore, cause they focus more on better camera and the waterproof feature like you said.
