Xperia Z1 Compact_14.2.A.1.142A new Android 4.3 firmware build for the Xperia Z1 Compact (D5503) is currently rolling out, which updates the firmware version from 14.2.A.1.114 currently to 14.2.A.1.142. This is the same firmware that is expected to shortly hit the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra. The update brings no noticeable changes, so it is likely a big-fixing update. It should be rolling out to all regions in due course.

Why they are loosing time on Z1 compact while Z1 get such a bad treatment by .136 update which is so buggy and bad??? Is Z1 already abandoned?
Seems they are updating everything except Z1! It seems that even previous Z gets more attention :(

  • bobeobi gzigzigzeo

So, are sound enchantments fixed? Proximity sensor fixed?

  • Timbo1

what are you talking about? We had a few updates recently! Or at least I have. The Z1 is in no mean abandoned!! And did you not read the article?! The same update is coming to the Z1 and Z1 Ultra.

  • Timbo1

What bugs have you noticed on the .136 update? The only “bug” I have noticed is the proximity sensor seems to lag a bit. I have no problems with the sound enhancements app (C6902)

  • rafimessi

I hope they rollout the update for z1 ASAP. After the last update my z1 is laggy af! Touch aint working properly. Lags, crashes n front camera is screwed up aswell. Am i the only one or is everyone els got these problems??

  • bobeobi gzigzigzeo

A lot of bugs listed and confirmed on official forum

Sony dont release 4.4 for Xperia T, just fix minor bugs and that’s it.
Already on 4.3 I feel that 1GB of Ram is just not enough.

The proximity sensor, performance downgrade in games (I play a lot so I know what I am talking about), huge battery drain (even if you are using Stamina during night it is using much more battery) – it drains faster, Bluetooth problems with connectivity to car audios, camera because now pictures are much more noisy + focus problems, Walkman issues with sound enhancements etc., problems with volume buttons and sound disappearing until restart the phone + Clear Phase and XLoud problems, Xperia with facebook problem, RAM memory problems as it is taking too much ram memory, touchscreen issues on lockscreen, Album app has a bug. When you pinch out on a picture to zoom in, the screen goes black, and everything gets messed up (this one may be already fixed with new album update), Speaker sound became quieter!

Everything I am talking about has its confirmation by other users on Internet, example here:

Isn’t it enough for you to call .136 messed up and buggy ???

“The update brings no noticeable changes, so it is likely a big-fixing update.”
nothing BIG here , let’s move on :D

  • azzido

I wish Sony allow us to rollback soft in case they mess up like .136 for Z1 :(
It should be possible by PC Companion, at least 1 version back :(
Then you don’t have to wait until bugs will be fixed (noone knows how long), but easily switch back to working version. Dev and QA departments needs to be strenghtened as they cannot handle so many devices at the same time… This is a FACT. And not only Sony fault, but Google as well. Google fragments the android too much, now it is like Gingerbread, from 2.3.1 – to 2.3.7, now we have up to 4.4… It’s ridiculous…

Who is voting for 1 BIG major Android OS update within a year? One but really good + smaller updated? In this case more devices would be able to be updated… Not only flagships. One release but a lot of changes, not like this. Google is dominating smartphones too much, that’s why they are doing it, providing small updates like 4.3, then 4.4, later 4.5 and so on with almost no changes… Sorry, someone should kick their asses…

Sound enhancement bug in Walkman is related to FLAC files, not mp3, so you really may not encounter it.

  • azzido

Please take into account that some people use FLAC files combined with better quality headphones instead of terrible headphones delivered with Z1 just because they care about quality. I am with Sony (Ericsson) from very beginning and must say that I was never provided with so bad headphones out of the box. And still I am missing my W980 because now it is broken and unable to repair (Sony claims no parts). It makes me really sad… :(
There was no other phone that made me so happy…

  • Tyw7

I think you mean bug fixing update not big fixing update.

  • bobcat22

    New update for tasks

  • Mac

    Thruu the air or sus/pcc?

  • Stephen

i think he meant a big bug fixing update or big fixing update for short

  • Siv Ratha

Many bugs on Xperia Z1 with current 4.3… Hope all bugs are fixed on the next update!

I hope Sony will update the Z1s to fix some of it’s annoying bugs as well, and SOON!

FLAC on a mobile phone is total overkill and a waste of space. You will never be able to hear the difference with true VBR AAC of ~192kbps.

  • SIRIUSly?

Or you can just flash tft file using flashtool.

  • My front cam is working perfectly. The only issue I have is that random apps very rarely seem to crash, like the album or the camera.

  • I’m actually kind of missing your point. You’re an audiophile right? That means you got your own high-end pair of headphones that work perfectly along the Z1, right? If so, why would you care about the provided headphones? I never use them anyway since I got good Sennheiser ones.

From what I’ve read on GSMArena the audio output is actually excellent on the Z1. Oh and to the person below, FLAC does make a difference. I’m not that much of an audiophile but even I can hear a difference (in a good way).

  • kust0r

Indeed. Not with a mobile phone at least.

Do a factory reset. It will fix everything.

  • HardyHarHar

I hope this fixes some of the issues of compact like the proximity sensor & touch screen issue. And maybe tone down a little the flash issue to work around the flash bleed.

  • if any one hv touch screen problem in z1 compact then its easy just maximize the pointer speed then u feel butter like touch…….
