Sony BKC50 Bluetooth Keyboard with Tablet Cover Stand_1Sony Mobile launched a couple of new cases last week at MWC that included the new BKB10 Bluetooth Keyboard. The BKB10 is an ultra-thin wireless keyboard, weighing 200 grams, which features NFC for easy pairing, Bluetooth 3.0 and a couple of LED indicator lights to show Bluetooth and charging status.

The keyboard can be charged via micro USB and Sony claims that the battery will last up to three months in STAMINA mode. The BKB10 Bluetooth Keyboard is expected to be priced at £54.99 in the UK when it launches in mid-April.

The first case to include this keyboard is the Sony BKC10 Bluetooth Keyboard with Cover Stand. This is basically a cover for the keyboard, but it can be angled to support any tablet or smartphone device. The BKC10 stand weighs 285 grams, without the keyboard.

Sony also announced the BKC50 Bluetooth Keyboard with Tablet Cover Stand designed specifically for the Xperia Z2 Tablet. This case will house the Xperia Z2 Tablet and BKB10 Bluetooth Keyboard in one cover. The BKC50 cover stand weighs 390 grams and will cost around £99.99 in the UK.

    awesome

  • Cmmdr Keen

can it be used with more than one bluetooth device like the logitech k810 keyboard?

    also it has no backlighting

  • Robin Cagnon-Carbonne

it can be used for the xperia tablet Z ?

  • cyapalmos

    Gawd I hope so!

  • XperiaBlog

We agree it does seem excessive, but the Bluetooth keyboard alone costs over £55. It must be super-thin at that price!

just like vaio tap… keeps getting better and better with all this accesories good job sony

Copy of Sony Xperia Design in its finest form ~
    Do u guys agree ?

  • Adrian969

Sony should think about how to set prices for their products. Sony is getting popular now and the z-series is great. but I dont think Sony can do that premium pricing in the Android community. Things like this should be reasonably prices and £100 isnt a fair price.

  • Umm..

I’m guessing you’d only be able to get the Z2 in landscape UI when you pair this keyboard up with it. Wish Sony would just give us an option…

  • xperiaDROID

Disagree. It looks nothing like a Sony phone, a black color phone doesn’t mean it’s a copy of Sony Xperia design. But wow, I must say that Oppo designs are as beautiful and elegant as Sony designs.

Oppo find 5 just made me think of NXT series without the illumination bar before, but I didn’t think further much since it could just be a coincidence

Then Oppo R1 came out and it was totally the Xperia Z

The Find 7 looks like the Arc shape + The SP light

    Well.

I want Z2 so badly… Now i cant afford it, but when 2014 H2 flagship will show up i will have next thing to want..Quality of cameras are increasing. Curious if ever SONY will relase lens mounting for xperia and if it has any sence? Its very nice to have fisheye enabled by SONY software but i think its weak comparing to real fisheye lens. What is more You cant take a movie in fisheye mode in my XS…

  • xperiax10.awesome

Wat?? You still stuck with XTZ, time for upgrade – Sony already frgt XTZ..and will will frgt XTZ2 in next 7mnths, only keep buying new stuffs from Sony !!

  • they should make one for the z2 in phone size that also includes a battery

  • Apollo89

That would be nice. The Tablet Z and Z2 have the same length (266 mm) and width (172 mm), but the Z2 is 0.5 mm thinner (6.4 mm vs. 6.9 mm). Not sure if this small difference would be a problem.

The back camera seems to be at the same place, but the NFC sensor is now located at the right side, a little below the camera. I wonder if it will even be possible to use NFC while the tablet is in the case?

  • cyapalmos

    Ooh backlighting would be sexy

  • Killian Khoo

Its front design is completely based on Arc series ~
While downside of front design LED is based on SP type ~

  • rahul

i want only the keyboard, i already have dock

  • xsylus

I’m still waiting for the BKC50 to be available for purchase in the U.S. I’m considering also getting the charging dock but I’m waiting to see how much the BKC50 will be priced to determine if my budget will allow me to afford both.

Also, look at where the tablet is gripped on the sides; where the power button is on the tablet z. Chances are it will need modifying with a dremel…

Very interesting thing I just come across at MyDeals247.com – I could choose any number of jewellery items (from the list) at very heavy discount rates (up to 75% off online) – more we buy more discount – I never seen this before.

  • John Stevens

When will the BKC10 – cover and keyboard be available?
