Xperia T2 Ultra D5316Recent rumours pointed to the possibility of the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra phablet heading to T-Mobile in the United States. Well that rumour has just taken a step closer to reality after the Sony D5316 model number has passed through the FCC. The XXX16 model number normally denotes handsets specifically tied to T-Mobile US. We would still expect the D5306 model number to land in North America, more specifically for Canadian carriers.

We recently saw the Xperia T2 Ultra dual launch in India but it has not seen a wide release thus far. The single-SIM Xperia T2 Ultra was recently pulled from the UK roster and we fear it may only see a limited launch in Europe, if it appears at all. This ties in with Sony’s focus of the handset to customers from emerging markets in China, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific rim.

It’s coming to T-Mo, prolly as the Z2S. Knowing some though they’ll drag their feet about 2 to 3 months after they’ve launched the Z2 all over

I’m strongly convinced Sony is borderline retarded. What company would flat out ignore the U.S. market and treat it as a second-rate market? The U.S. smartphone market is second only to China’s! I and MANY others are begging for a Z2 here in the U.S., and considering it out-specs both the Galaxy S5 and the forthcoming HTC flagship, there is no better time to take the U.S. market by storm.

Alas, I’m sure Sony will wait until fall, when the Z3 is literally weeks away from unveiling, before releasing the Z2 in the U.S. with T-Mobile as the only carrier. In the meantime, Sony is fine with bringing us lackluster mid-level phones. After all, what better way to make a name for yourself than to sell phones that blend in with the vast sea of other Android devices?

Sony, your inaction is losing you thousands of potential U.S. customers, as we’re not willing to wait in slim hope that the latest Xperia Z model will make it here while it’s still relevant.

Hey Sony, in case u didn’t know, T-Mobile is the #4 carrier in the US and if you want to make an impact in the US market may I suggest AT&T. Don’t become like BlackBerry thinking you can survive w/o the US market.

Very interesting thing I just come across at MyDeals247.com – I could choose any number of jewellery items (from the list) at very heavy discount rates (up to 75% off online) – more we buy more discount – I never seen this before.
