Sony has announced the CP-W5 wireless portable charger, which is designed specifically for Qi-enabled devices. It is the first such charging device from Sony and even serves as a charging plate when connected to a power supply. It can charge devices via USB cable at 1.5A output as well as wirelessly at 1.0A, although it cannot do both at the same time.
The Lithium-ion 5000mAh battery can be recharged 1,000 times, at which point it will still retain more than 90 percent of its capacity. The CP-W5 charger has dimensions of 66.0 x 130.0 x 16.5mm and weighs 188g. The CP-W5 USB Portable Charger is expected to hit Singapore from April 2014 onwards. There is no word of a European launch right now.
