Sony has started to roll out a new bug-fixing firmware update with build number 12.1.A.1.201, which should hopefully offset some of the bad news yesterday regarding the KitKat update. This new build follows on from the last Android 4.3 firmware released, which had build number 12.1.A.0.266.
Sony has updated its Xperia SP support pages to highlight that this new build includes an enhanced user experience, improved battery life and software performance improvements. You can see from our Xperia Update Checker screencaps below that the firmware is already out across a number of different regions for all three variants of Xperia SP (C5302, C5303 and C5306). If you’ve downloaded the update, let us know your impressions in the comments.
