Thumb_resultWe have already seen a number of analogue watch faces for the SmartWatch 2 from third-party developer Julian J Wong. The watch faces come courtesy of Sony opening up its API to developers to create their own clocks and widgets. This means that these watch faces can be installed a native clock and will work in active and low power mode to save battery.

JJW’s newest SmartWatch 2 creations are watch faces with animated gears. The watch face only displays animated gears whilst the screen is powered on and not when it is in standby mode, however it’s a nice idea nonetheless. Three premium watch faces have been released on the Google Play Store, with all links included below.

Great idea, but I wouldn’t pay for them. Please message JJW and let him know that there are so many more types of dials out there that he should be creating and selling. Minute Repeater, Tourbillon, Chronograph, Anidigi, Jumping Hour, Power Reserve, GMT, Double Retrograde, etc.. Please refer him the the Android Smartwatch and the Slyde watch for some great examples of dials.

I just want to see a Sony Smartwatch with Android Wear and clasic form factor, not square one, that’s it…

These gears reminds me of Homura :)

The animated gears looks too fake, but good idea.
