Could the Xperia Z3 be landing on T-Mobile US?

in Rumours, Xperia Z3 series

t-mobile-logoSony is still trying to crack the nut that is the US carrier market with its Xperia devices. Whilst Verizon picked up the LTE version of the Xperia Z2 Tablet, it is T-Mobile that has picked up recent Xperia phones such as the Xperia Z1s and the Xperia Z.

Therefore, it may not be that far-fetched to think that the upcoming Xperia Z3 will also hit T-Mobile. This is what TechnoBuffalo has learnt from its trusted sources (“this is a source we trust with 100 percent confidence, so we’re willing to place our bets”). Hopefully, all will become clear shortly after the Xperia Z3 announcement, expected to take place at the IFA press conference on 3 September.

just wanted some advice regarding my dilemma: i have an Xperia Z right now and plan to upgrade to a new phone. should i wait for Z3 and then buy it or should i wait for Z3 to make the Z2 price become lower and then buy Z2 instead? or should i just wait for Z4 instead because Z3 doesn’t really appear to have that much improvement from Z2? o_O

  • Ethan ‘blaze’ Parker

    Wait for Z3, get Z2.

  • JHMBB2

The heck…Are we just skipping the Z2? Hey, maybe it’s a good move for once on Sony’s part!

    Nononooooo
Wait for s z4 trust me it’ll be worth the wait

  • HardyHarHar

Yes wait for the Z3 to launch coz Z2 will drop it’s price.

Then the day you’ll buy the phone you notice the Z3 and wait for the Z4 coz Z3 will drop it’s price.

Then the day you’ll buy the phone you notice the Z4 and wait for the Z5 coz Z4 will drop it’s price.

Then the day you’ll buy the phone you notice the Z5 and wait for the Z6 coz Z5 will drop it’s price.

Then the day you’ll buy the phone you notice the Z6 and wait for the Z7 coz Z6 will drop it’s price.

Then the day you’ll buy the phone you notice the Z7 and wait for the Z8 coz Z7 will drop it’s price.

Then the day you’ll buy the phone you notice the Z8 and wait for the Z9 coz Z8 will drop it’s price.

Then the day you’ll buy the phone you notice the Z9 and wait for the Z10 coz Z9 will drop it’s price.

Then the day you’ll buy the phone you notice the Z10 and wait for the Z11 coz Z10 will drop it’s price.

Then the day you’ll buy the phone you notice the Z11 and thought that you are already waiting for half a decade for you next phone so you decide to get the Z10 and not wait for the Z11 now.

Then when you went back home you realized you bought the Blackberry Z10 instead of the Xperia Z10 and you killed yourself.

I think SONY is failing BIG TIME here in the U.S. market. why bother putting it exclusive for? U SHOULD put it on every carrier if u want to beat SAMSUNG/LG/APPLE ect if u want higher sales. think its a waste of time for SONY not concentrating here in the U.S. market.

  • PSfan

    that’s a good story, with a good ending :/

  • Guest

    Yeah, I got it today!

  • Daniel Dorestant

    Lmao

  • Elle

Sony should focus on software more than this like multi-windows feature, many people want it!

  • sotupidny

Why just t mobile? Again and again Sony never learn Sony should fuck with other carriers too

  • BruceLeeRoyJenkins

Agreed, but Sony will also need to find money to advertise about it as well. The carriers here won’t advertise the devices they get and leave it up to the OEMs

I think Z3 is just Z2 stateside because of its hardware. So why Sony use Z3 name ?

  • NNN

    I’m waiting for Xperia Z4.
Hope it comes with snapdragon 810 with 64 bit cpu and ddr4 RAM.
    Just wanna try ARM v8.
    Sick of ARM v7 ready.

  • Jonathan Bratanata

if they do that, the phones will have even poorer updates than the international/unlocked versions

A great phone on a crappy network. smh

  • jonyah

Verizon still doesn’t have the Z2. Tmobile is usually 6 months – 1 year behind schedule with sony phones, so this sounds like no news again.

  • jonyah

Why do firefox and chrome only use major versioning numbers and increase on a monthly basis? It’s just for marketing. At “3”, they’re still 2 behind the S5 and 3 behind the upcoming iPhone 6. Unfortunately, most consumers are pretty dumb.

  • Danny

Updates for C6606 Z and C6916 Z1s, both T-mobile exclusive, are already slow as snails. 6 months behind, so that point is moot. Releasing on more than one carriers open to more markets and build up sales, and Sony will be motivated to push the updates sooner as more people demand it, for all variants.

  • Danny

Having the Z and Z1s on tmobile before, i gotta pass as there’s not a good track with updates. Better to buy unlocked international version. Although there is some good advantages buying via tmobile, cost, monthly payments, Wi-fi calling. Or is Tmobile Wifi calling available on unlocked non-Tmobile phones as well?

  • jonyah

But if you buy unlocked, you get a much lower monthly bill that pretty much covers the cost. But, you don’t get the built-in wifi calling. But do you really need that? They pretty much cover the world and you have unlimited minutes (minus a few countries).

  • Spectre51

    It won’t be just T-Mobile.

  • Kaostheory

Z4 will probably be 64bit and raw photo processing and up to 55mp.

  • Naos

You don’t understand that it is probably Apple or Samsung who is blocking Sony to get into Verizon and At&T. business is quite brutal game. I’m sure Sony would love to have their phones available in all carriers.
