Google Now Launcher_resultGoogle has today made the “Google Now Launcher” available for all Android devices running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and above. The launcher was previously only available for Nexus and Google Play Edition devices.

The launcher makes Google Now just one swipe away. From the primary home screen, you can swipe right to access Google Now cards. You can also trigger “Ok Google” whilst you are on the home screen for a search query. It can be downloaded right now through the Google Play Store.

    Without transparency -_-

  • Samsung lolù…

  • Daniel Ribera

Sony Apps interfaces better than Materiarg Desing.

  • The video maker is clearly a big fan of and/or from Chicago. I approve as a Chicago area native.

  • James Earley

I’ll stick with Xperia Home I think, functionality is much better on Sony’s launcher.

  • Andrean Romanky

The transparency is part of Kitkat’s runtime, bro.

i’ve already sideload that apk few month ago on my Z1… and i still prefer Sony Home launcher after tried Google Now launcher

Maybe I’m missing something, but after downloading Google Now Launcher and playing with it for a little while, I’m not seeing what makes the nerds gush about it. It feels like the Xperia Home launcher, only Google Now Launcher has fewer features.

  • suit up !

The Google Now Launcher is now available on all devices with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or later. Get it on Google Play. http://goo.gl/nmWJem

It looks so big in my Z Ultra! Haha! And the icons looks so blurred. It’s good but it doesn’t seem fit for my Ultra

  • My Moto G on 4.2.2 has transparent bars.

    Must be your android version.

Working on my Xperia M LIKE A BOSS :D

  • Luca

I have transparency on my Xperia Sp, it’s running 4.3 :D

  • YES! Finally, Google is giving everybody the possibility of a nexus-like experience by releasing more and more android components as apps.
Though the sony launcher is pretty good and has some interesting features, this one has some killer features (for me): it’s even smoother, the hotword “ok google” works directly from the home screen and the access to google now is really fast (it’s like it is always open).
I don’t have the transparency, but… who cares.

Dont know. I allready miss my old Sony UI launcher. But I shall try this one. :-) But I do like the design though… and maybe wich Sony would have used Google design approch more…. but Sonys launcher is better I have to say.

  • Luca

I used an Xposed module called tinted status bar to get the transparency. And i just installed it normally, no issues
