Sony is likely to launch a new Bluetooth Headset at IFA 2014 according to the latest FCC documents. The Sony SBH60 Stereo Bluetooth Headset is referenced with FCC ID PY7-RD0170. Little is known about the headset apart from the fact that it will come in black and white colours. We’ll bring you more on the headset when it is officially announced in a few weeks time.

It will be interesting. I am using SBH 52, and I can say, that it is really comfortable and usefull bluetooth headset.

I use the SBH52, which can connect to 2 devices, awesome product, but battery can be better. I use it the whole time @ work and it lasts me only 7.5 hours. improve the battery and setting and I’ll probably buy the SBH60. I also owned the SBH20 that is now given to friend who love it.

I really like my SBH80, really comfortable, great sound, and a very cool design. Hopefully the successor can feature Active Noise Cancellation

  • David Moslehi

I have the SBH52 and it’s great. But you should know that it is originally a HANDset (and is marketed by Sony as a handset that can be used as a headset, too).

I have sbh52 and using it with my Z Ultra and after updating sbh52 fw to 2.4 loud speakers are dead and i cant use it for answering incoming calls without earphones…i searched google and find out a lot of people have same problem with sbh52 speaker
Before this problem sbh52 fw had alot of bugs like random disconnect…battery drain on idle and no noise cancellation…i dont know why u so happy about it!!!
Im sony fan but i will never buy another sony mobile accessory because of buggy software

Can’t they do all future Bluetooth headsets compatible with the PS4 to??? :(

  • GregLu

Apparently it will be a speaker rather than a headset given the image, no ?

  • josesl16

I second this with my SBH80. Although, I don’t think Active Noise Cancellation is currently possible because it needs near-zero latency to work, which wireless stuff can’t yet do, although I might be wrong.

make it like the beats powerbeats wireless 2 but with better battery life and cheaper. +waterproof. Then I don’t need 2 spend more on beats.

True dat. But if anyone can bring great sound quality and innovation to the music listening game it’s Sony

  • SBH = Stereo Bluetooth Headset. So, according to the product number, no, it won’t be.

  • Currently using the MBH10 and got the MHC1 in the back-hand. Pretty satiesfied with both, no need to upgrade.

  • GregLu

I just realised this, actually. But why the image is like this with the info ? Strange …

you’d do the ANC on the analogue side near the final audio amplification stages.

    it’s a shame the SBH 52 doesn’t have AptX.
I’d like Sony to make an SBH-52 combined with BRH-10, and add in AptX.

  • Danny

first off, I haven’t updated my SBH52 since I bought it. I don’t experience the issues you and many others have. I never use loud speakers on it, it unnecessary since I could do that with my phone. It rarely disconnect while I’m using it, either on a call or listening to music, watching a video. I use it for a full 8 to 9 hours nonstop. I charge it while using it on my lunch break. whenever I don’t use it I turn it off, so never really just put it on idle so I wouldn’t know about the that battery draining problem, but isn’t that normal? Noise Cancellation, I not sure how that work, so I can’t say whether or not I’m having an issue, but I can hear my audio through all the loud noise in my workplace, from Machines.
I also have the Sony Wireless Bluetooth Speaker that I use while @ home. no problems with that either. neither is the SBH20

I guess you’re lucky…but there is many people that have problems with buggy SBH52 fw…I solved my problem with via XDA Forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/help/problem-z-ultra-sbh52-t2851415)

and take look at SBH52 Android App page (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonymobile.smartconnect.raphael&hl=en) and read some users reviews!!

But that means the device would need a separate chip and perhaps better processor all on its own, wouldn’t it? That’d reduce battery life or make the device bulkier…

  • Paul M

but it’s bluetooth, and there’s a headphone amp, so there’s already power for all that.
