Video Unlimited_13.1.B.0.5_3A new update for Sony’s Video Unlimited application recently started to roll. The update moved the build number to 13.1.B.0.5, with the main change being an improvement of the layout of titles. There were no other changes we could notice. As with other Video Unlimited updates it only seems to hit certain handsets. It wasn’t live on our Xperia Z2, but it is rolling to the Xperia M2 and Xperia SP.

Still never got the last update to video unlimited. I’m holding off on updating my Movies app as my purchases don’t show up with the updated one. Hopefully this will land on Z2 so let’s refresh shall we.

  • Apk?

Video and Music unlimited services still not available in many countries, what the fuck is Sony thinking?

Sony’s costumers around the world need the same standard, same experience.

As much as I’d like that too, it’s because of regional restrictions. Just like you can’t watch TV shows (legally) on the interet from US if you’re in southeast, for example.

Most likely in your countries and other countries as well, they don’t have Netflix, Amazon, or Google Play Music/Video etc. So it’s not just Sony.

Netflix just launched in Switzerland. Sony always used the reasoning you said. Funny its not a problem for Netflix…or even Mubi (PS3) lol

    Its a damn shame.

  • lee jun-hoe

Yeah, as you said “just launched” in Switzerland.

So in time Google and Sony etc will probably come in. :)

    whatever.

Google is already here ;) sony late as always :(

  • They need to really overhaul music unlimited :/ I just tried it this week and its incredibly buggy.

  • Rosie

That’s why Sony can’t win Apple, people around the world now can stream, rent or buy music and movie on iTunes.

Get over it dude… go buy another phone.

    ??? ???? ?O? ??????!

Yippee ! The update has solved the bug of Video Unlimited on Xperia Z1 :-))) Thanks Sony !

  • Mike N.

Anybody get this on the Z2? I can’t update my Movies unless I update video unlimited as my purchases only show up on the factory version of the Movies app. Update center grabbed the latest Movies so it’s hidden for now until I can update Video Unlimited. Thanks guys..

Does anyone know what versions are released in the US? On the Xperia Z2 (D6503) and have Video Unlimited version 11.0.B.0.6. Seem to be stuck.

  • Joshua Crews

    What country are you in?

  • Mike N.

    United States.

  • Joshua Crews

So we both have the same problem. I talked to a Sony Rep from their Xperia Care department and they said there shouldn’t be a reason if my phone is working for it to not pop up if it is available here. They claimed they didn’t have an update schedule or a list of regions it was available in. For clarification my Z2 is the D6503 international unlocked version and so far I have received other updates and even the Kit Kat 4.4.2 update to the system. As far as I can tell if it is available here I should be able to get it so I’m leery at the moment to try rooting when it may just be a bad roll out from Sony.

  • merlin

Yes having the same problem really frustrating my video unlimited on my xperia z2 tablet is stuck on 11.0.B.0.4 and can’t see my purchased movies unless I role back the movies app.

  • telur

Sony mobile developers. Please include hide function for movies application. Rhe same way as albums do.
