Sony confirms Android 5.0 Lollipop rollout begins February 2015

by XB on 6th January 2015

in Android, Firmware, Xperia Z3 series

Android_LollipopSony’s CES 2015 press conference last night had very little new content on the mobile side of things, however we did get confirmation of when the Android 5.0 Lollipop software rollout commences for the Xperia Z series.

Mike Fasulo, President and COO of Sony Electronics, went on stage to confirm that that the rollout will start with the Xperia Z3 globally from next month. Up until now, Sony only confirmed an “early 2015” launch for the update. The update will start with the Xperia Z3 and Z2 series and will hit the entire Xperia Z range over time. We’ll bring you more news as we have it.

Thanks Martin!

  • Awesome news ;D

  • shhh

Sheesh not even a preview. Next month they’ll announce which week they would release the update.

  • Stanley Lu

Don’t always hold the update so you can use it as one of the top new features for the next flagship… It seems like a trend for every Xperia…

  • a.hamameh

As I heard him he said Android Lollipop 5.0.1
Also I think the Z2 will get it in March but nothing confirmed until now and nothing about the changes on the Xperia UI

  • bao trung giang

    so long…

  • Faisal Armand

After an awesome teaser that got me drooling, I was a bit disappointed

  • tiborh

    we need ART. now.

  • that’s pretty late compare to another manufacturer …-_-

  • Akshay Ballal

  • mrninko

and there´s preparing 5.0.3 with next bug fix and we can only dream about it…

  • Deckard_Cain

It was supposed to be January. I am disappointed by this announcement. By then Google will have released 5.1.

  • Amimanot

Hmmm… Isn’t it weird that we haven’t seen any leaks on the lollipop Xperia ui? Especially when compared to Samsung or lg

  • Pingback: Sony ??: Xperia Z3 ????? Android 5.0 Lollipop ?? | Android-APK()

  • Ritwij

I hope Sony does the bugfix in 5.0.1 itself

  • Ritwij

I guess Lollipop will be here before Z4 but it will most probably be the same UI and we will get the Z4 UI later on!

  • John-Mark Christmas

Hope it fixes the Low speaker sound. Don’t want to have to root my phone just to fix a little issue which should have been done in a bug fix update.

  • karam abi karam

He said that starting globally next monthe . We can see android 5 on some device this monthe before start globally

  • finch35

    Classic sony.

  • rubinaish

    Who talked about January?

  • Sridhar D

Wow My ZR would get its 5th OS upgrade. I can only pity people owning phones from other manufacturers :)

  • a.hamameh

If you get the Lollipop 5.0 you will get the 5.0.3 because it will be only a fix update not a full system update like the first kitkat and the jelly bean updates

  • Ritwij

I’m a fellow Z2 user buddy. I feel your pain

  • Sander Puus

sony did – about the core z3 and z2 devices

  • Peter

Although I don’t really care that much – it is disappointing to see Sony being the last again. Not what you expect when you “demand great”.

  • Džabas

Sony, which “next” month is next: april, may or august?

  • xperiaDROID

Not even a sneak peek of it, that Sony CES livestream conference wasted my time. CES is boring as always, luckily there are some great phones like LG G Flex 2 and Asus Zenfone 2 etc., or else the CES will be a big disappointment.

Oh well, let’s wait for MWC for more surprises then.

  • sara

I spoke to Sony UK and they have confirmed rollout Feb for Z3/ Z2 but gradual rollout

  • xperiaDROID

    Sony being the last again?

Did Huawei Ascend Mate 7 get the Lollipop update?
Did Xiaomi Mi 4 get the Lollipop update?
Did Meizu MX4 Pro get the Lollipop update?
Did ZTE Nubia Z7 get the Lollipop update?
Did Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro get the Lollipop update?
Did Oppo N3 get the Lollipop update?
Did Sharp Aquos Crystal X get the Lollipop update?
Did Acer Liquid S2 get the Lollipop update? Oh wait, I think it’s still stuck on Jelly Bean.

These great flagships are still waiting for the Lollipop update, so I don’t know what you mean by “Sony being the last again”.

  • J.

    But you are waiting!

  • Zidhin Mohd

    Yepp..not even a single pic…

  • omar

I think it will worth waiting “whole new UI” ;)

  • Zidhin Mohd

If it will be a whole new ui…

  • tiborh

    which one?????????

LG only comes with 5.0 for 2!!!countries, with a lot’s of bug. Samsung too

  • omar

    Yes if ;)

  • FredrikAn

    Better do it right.

  • FredrikAn

Where is the source of that?

  • Luís Alberto Pérez

I own a Nexus 7 2013 and didn’t get the first Lollipop update. Those who received said it’s was full of bugs. I only get the second update, almost a month after the official release. I prefer getting a late update free of annoying bugs. Work well SONY. Make a good update and take your time.

    Hello, Mr. Kr**e.

  • Guest

    Are those months in 2016?

  • Bur

Still complaining… I don’t even care about the update as long as my phone works properly, which it does.

  • We can always flash another country firmware lol . Bug? My friend Note 3 is smooth imo , another thing it’s not the manufacture fault anyway , Lollipop is bugged , memory leak , wifi etc.

  • My Z2 is getting heated pretty easily in latest firmware , fresh install. Soooo it’s up to you , this is just my opinion . Kbye

  • Fan of Xperia device

Talking about New UI and icon, did you guys this video.
Especially look from (56-1.06)s. I think that’s how the new icon will turn out. I love how the new icon looks in this video .

  • Jerry Berglund

They actually didnt. They just said: “In the beginning of 2015” And February is still in the beginning.

  • Peter

Sorry mate but none of these brands are actually considered being the “top brands” like Sony, HTC or Samsung.

  • roeshak

Late late late late! Nothing new I suppose lol!

  • Jerry Berglund

It really is. Sony isnt famous for holding its secrets kinda. lol. But this time. Not a peep. We even got cheated on the Xpera Z4 lol. Even though Xperiablog said it wasnt going to happen, the rumours said it should. And for once, it seemed like Sony manage to keep their secrets.

Though I really have to say, I dont think it was a good planning that Sony didnt release the expected Z4, just because of the other companies now release their new phones and tablets with Qualcomm 810. This means that Sony is again a long way behind the competitors when it comes to hardware. Almost a year. When Samsung, LG, HTC and ASUS and some others are allready out there with qualcomm 810 Sony is still onto Qualcomm 801. And that ain’t good for Sony’s buisness. I know specs isnt everything, but I am sorry to say that many androidusers is picky when it comes to specs. Sony aint Apple with their hard-core-loyal-fans. I honestly think Sony would loose lots and lots of market shares because of this.

But If Sony manage to get the next hardware onto that Z4 this summer, Qualcomm 815 or whatever its called… lol. It might be better for SOny. But if they do release the same as the others allready released 6 months earlier, there is more or less our small group of hard-core-sony-products-fans who is going to buy it.

So no, it wasnt good planning to be honest. It would have been better to release the new phones now, and then nothing this summer.

  • Faisal Armand

    Well it looks kinda “cute”

But what i’m looking for in lollipop are RAW support and full manual camera controls, as I love taking pictures

  • Akshat Ahuja

Mine too.. 8 guess its updated the max no. of times… N still it runs pretty smooth on Kitkat
PS : I feel sad for Sony being so partial to midrange though xD

  • A dissapointed one

Other manufacturers? What about Xperia SP not getting KitKat and Lollipop? Talking about other manufacturers: HTC just announced a new entry level in the 300 family of phones with only 512MB of RAM, and it is natively coming with KitKat.

  • Maxx Tan

    u mean sony xperia sp?

  • xperiaDROID

Huawei and Xiaomi are also considered as the “top brands” too.

Yes, RAW support is a must have for Xperia devices, with RAW people can bring the best out of Xperia Camera. I really hope Sony also improve their JPEG engine in their products and I’m not just talking about their Xperia devices but also about their cameras. Sony’s JPEG is the worst among the top brand camera manufacturer (Fuji,Olympus, Nikon, Canon) and as a result of their bad JPEG xperia devices also suffer from this weakness. Even their highest end camera like alpha 7 2 can’t take awesome JPEG image because of their poor engine. Well, People don’t really care about JPEG image quality in full frame camera (most people shoot RAW most of the time anyway) but it just shows that Sony’s JPEG is mediocre.

Fuji’s JPEG is the best. There is couple of reasons Fuji is gaining tremendous popularity in the photographer’s world (especially in the mirrorless camera world) and their JPEG image is one of the MAIN REASON of their popularity. Fuji’s JPEG color rendition is absolutely AMAZING and their NR is also very well controlled, their camera in high ISO don’t destroy detail. I read that Fuji’s JPEG was really bad a few years ago but they listen to the criticisms and improve their weakness. With Bionz X engine Sony slightly improve their JPEG image over Bionz engine but their NR is still way too AGGRESSIVE and color rendering is not that great. I just hope that they also improve improve their JPEG image quality in their products.

  • Muzaffer Bayraktar

There is a small update rolling for Z1. Anyone got it?

in Feb. it will come for Z3 and after a month for Z2 and so on. there will be no 5.0.2 for Z2 family. and Android 5.0 is having a memory eating problem.

  • Steven Khoo Skkl

Dude,no manufacturers have shifted to use SD810 yet.. The most is SD805 and even then the only global user is Note 4 qnd one other phone.. SD801 is still very relevant in the age of 32bit.. Even Lollipop is programme to work just as well on 32bit as 64bit.. SONY isn’t behind one bit..And the SD810 just released to manufacturers early December, so a month of testing ain’t gonna cut it..God!! YOU’RE SO MISINFORMED

  • F

thats if Sony enbale access to the API.
Which no other OEM aside from Google has done.
    HTC,Samsung, LG haven’t.

    False they’ve never said January
Provide the post bet they didnt…

  • f

LG is using it in there phone launching later this month.
Its just not available in huge quantitys

    So YOU are misinformed.

  • Jerry Berglund

Ok so LG didn’t announce a phone with qualcomm 810 and Asus didnt announce a new Zenfone with the same? Must have being dreaming about that then.

  • s

Hope thats WIP and not how it’ll look.
All they’ve changed is the notifcation drop down.
All of Sony UI is Jelly bean looking.

  • f

    Zenfone doesnt use 810.
    It uses Intel

    But your correct with LG.

  • IshuZ2

its not about getting a update… its about getting perfect one.

  • Jerry Berglund

    Yes you right. Missed that.

  • goldenblls

Great, can’t wait to update my Z3C. and 5.1 is coming soon after that?

  • Steven Khoo Skkl

Next month, but even then in limited quantity and delayed orders..We’ll see that for sure.. And it is the G flex 2 which is launching next month for consumers.. What I intend to mean is the release for consumers and not just announcement.. As that would vary everywhere..
Edit. Asus has recently turned to use SD in their phones due to SD power efficiency..
And just announcing a phone doesn’t mean it’s way ahead in an area

  • Afzal Zainal Rddz

Yeah ..wish sony include manual focus adjustment . That also will be awesome for still and video capture.

  • Killian Khoo

I think that is totally 1st release of their lolipop update test ~
There not even one of Sony apps is updated with new design type of icons ~

  • Anzilleo Kristello Mozihim

My Xperia Tablet Z is ready.

  • Xperiacle

What makes you think that Sony is top brand?

  • dsp

It is a bit of a stretch to say ‘Long way behind’ and ‘Almost a year’. 810 is just a new kid on the block and came to customers only in late 2014.LG just announced a 810 powered phone only in the last couple of days (It’s probably the first OEM to release a device with the 810) and none of the other major OEMs have announced their flagships yet. And going by the rumors, Sony is going to reveal Z4 at MWC which is taking place in the 1st week of March. So at the most Sony will be late by a month or so in announcing it’s flagship compared to the other OEMs. Since XZ1 Sony has been on par with the other OEMs as far as raw specs are concerned.

  • Jerry Berglund

Oh I thought MWC was in the summer :-) Then i guess it ain’t that bad. :-)

  • Snorky112

almost no one actually cares about G FLex 2, and SD 810 is overrated, you don’t really need it, sony should focus on software issues to make consumers happy

  • Matt

IDK what is the fuss about RAW, i shoot RAW on my DSLR and love it, but you have to fine tune the image afterwards to make it better and suitable for viewing because RAW is RAW! its a picture data from the sensor it looks flat and rather awful really, but you can tweak the heck out of it.

i DONT want to tweak photos from my phone , i want to take a picture and upload it, or save it. RAW is a nice addition but still good image processing has to be the number 1 on sony´s priority list.

and when people defending xperias camera for being over processed, they scream use manual mode, like hell i would, its hard enough using manual on SLR , why should i do the same with my phone i just want to take a freaking picture and go on with my day.

  • Faisal Armand

Finally, a decent people for a good discussion, not a stubborn blockhead that I had before.

Well, I have a lot of experience with Xperia cameras, I have taken approximately 5000 pics and I experiment a lot with them also.

From my analysis & experiences, Xperia cameras suffer from:
    – Very bad auto mode (I take this as the main culprit): in short, auto mode loves to choose ISO too high and shutter speed too fast. And colour temperature is inconsistent too, if I shot the same scene in like 10 times, the colour temperature can vary from each shots.
    – Overprocessed ISO 50 daylight images: The low light ISO performance of 50-1600 is actually very good as it has decent balance of sharpening and noise reduction (more on this later) but the daylight images suffer from crazy level of oversharpening and then a noise reduction that is beyond aggresive. Xperia’s sharpening filter is strong enough to create artifacts and then a NR so aggresive obliterates the sharpness and leaving only artifacts in the process. I mean, come on Sony, when there is plenty of light there is no need to put on a very aggresive processing. But I repeat, low light images even at ISO 50 doesn’t suffer from these defects.

And let me put it this way.. The quality of Xperia cameras GREATLY DEPENDS on the user. In short, the quality in auto mode is hardly any better than the competing cameraphones such as samsung, LG, and iphone.

But the quality on manual mode however, is a completely different story, The only cameraphones that can defeat the Xperia camera on manual mode is the lumias. As evidenced by this ISO performance comparison of Xperia Z3 vs Galaxy S5 whom people regarded as one of the best android cameraphone

You can see it yourself that actually the ISO performance of Xperia Z3/Z2 on 4.4.4 is very good, and even better than the 16MP samsung. And what does this means? If Z3 faces S5 in an ISO test, the Z3 will beat S5 in 9 times out of 10 times.

But unfortunately, sony ruins the good ISO performance with their bad auto mode which 95% of the people use all the time!

  • Stefan Alm

No one said you would get it next month… depending on your phone, carrier and country, it might take months… but the first people will get the update next month… and there is always only one “next” month…

  • Stefan Alm

    no… no we don’t…

  • Fan of Xperia device

Nice comment. We basically agree that Sony need to dramatically improve their auto mode because that’s the mode most people use and if that mode produce shitty result they’re going to say Sony’s cameras are shitty. And because of their shitty auto mode more adventurous Xperia User are demanding RAW support so that they can bring the best out of their camera after all we all know that Sony’s camera sensor is the best.

    End of the story is that Sony need to improve their auto mode, it has to be as consistence as iphone or lumias { But i have a feeling that they won’t or rather they can’t, seeing their high end cameras suffering from the same problem you describe earlier (i’m just talking about their jpeg image here, raw is best in sony’s sensor) i’m not very optimist but it would be great if they did improve their auto mode..}

You will find the new Sony apps icons and the new livewallpaper that I think will come with the new Xperia Android Lollipop UI.

“RAW is a nice addition but still good image processing has to be the number 1 on sony´s priority list”- you’re absolutely right and 100% with you. The main function of Smartphone camera is taking quick snapshots,
taking quick snapshots are really what the majority of smartphone shooters actually care about that’s why making auto mode reliable is the first job Sony need to do in their Xperia camera.

It just that people are getting very frustrated with the inconsistent result from the auto mode and they would rather like to post process the image later to get the best image even if they that require a lot of time and effort. Since lollipop have RAW support then why not?

  • Sam Albalushi

We need camera improvement and some new features in lollipop

  • Snorky112

they just give you numbers for marketing, x64 is and will be useless for at least 1 or 2 years (untill apps become x64) and you won’t see any difference between 800 and 810 when using your phone… it still remains a phone…

  • skyxz

Am I the only one who prefers the UI that Z2 came out with? I would rather not update than have a flat material UI. P.s. I am a Z1 user.

  • Faisal Armand

I like that statement of yours, pal. “If the auto mode is sh*t, people will say the camera is sh*t. If the auto mode is good, people will say the camera is good.”

The iphone camera is well known for its consistency, yes. And as for lumias. When people talk about lumia cameras, they talk about the procamera app which has a complete manual settings, not the auto mode.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs Nokia Lumia 930 Camera C…:

Take a look on that vid: even lumia 930 in auto mode gets destroyed by Note 4. But if you play the manual settings on the 930, Note 4 won’t stand a chance. That’s the same story as Xperia vs other cameraphones.

In the end, Xperia cameras is always a double edged sword. It can either be a slacker or the best camera in android & ios environment

And as for the improvement for Sony. Well, I’ve been inspecting their camera improvements since Xperia Z1 to the current Xperia Z3. I think they have improved quite well but not drastically. The Z1 camera was initially a living nightmare but a firmware update fixed it a little bit, then came the Z2 & Z3 which has notable improvement. Oh btw, my mom has Z1 Compact and I have done ISO test against my Z2. And the results are quite drastic, Z2 is superior in every way. More details, and less noise & artifacts

I think sony CAN improve but they choose not to (I heard that Sony has horrible backstage politics regarding their smartphones & cameras) and also there were times that sony made brilliant cameraphones during cyber-shot era, I wish sony can bring that brilliance back

  • Timel

    Sony is always too late

Considering the problems with memory on the Nexus devices running Lollipop I’m sort of glad Sony is making sure when they release Lollipop it runs smooth without any drawbacks. But of course what is a dumbass troll who wastes his own time to come to this site supposed to care about.

  • d

    Its more power efficent.
You will see a difference especially gaming
Once developers start taking advantage you’ll see.
Its hardly “Overated”. (Which you still haven’t explained)

Its not currently being ultilised to its full ability due to it not being present on any device available right now.
It still remains an upgrade from the 801.
Whether you like it or not, to say its overated is incredibily innacurate.

  • ????

Well, I have Xperia from the oldest Z line-up — ZL, it’ll take some time until I could get Android 5 on my phone. I just want see what Sony’s UI will look like in Lollipop. I really do.

  • Io

I hope not in the same way as with Jb or KK, the first releases were full of bugs; in other words, delay of launch with Sony is never a guarantee of bug-free/polished version, I would rather say it proved otherwise till now…

  • chunkybeats

“HTC just announced a new entry level in the 300 family of phones with only 512MB of RAM, and it is natively coming with KitKat”

These are brand new phones from HTC as for the SP –
Um how old is the SP?? nearly 2 years old and you are looking for lollipop? Seriously……. use a custom rom if you want that experience and stop complaining.

  • Vasilis K.

I’m in no hurry at all. Google was too urged to give out Lollipop. The result was a version full of serious bugs. 5.0.1,…2,…3, and who knows what will follow in the next weeks. Sony’d better wait for it to settle down before giving us the update. Then it’ll be a quality one.

  • ????????

will be there an update for T3??

  • Rikimaru

I guess sony heard about bug from lollilop then we can hope get a stable one. Also personally 4.4.4 works great, the pleasure to use mt Z3 from sony and the apps I like, so have lollilop or not… Generaly new android bring few new stuff for the user until the manufacturer or dev apps offer us some stuff who use the new stuff from google. In sony case we can probably hope better camera feature…

  • Džabas

But when “next” month comes and there is no update, Sony is right because they told “next” month not this.

  • Timbo1

    go troll Apple and Samsung!

  • Io

I was not talking about Google’s bugs, I was talking about Sony’s own bugs (like the crackling notification sound issue and the poor volume sounds, random restarts, etc) – as upgrading from JB to KK. It took 3 revisions of KK to make it bug-free by Sony…
I am not afraid of the Lollipop bugs, by the time it will be implemented by Sony, maybe the bugs will be ironed out, but for reasons which are a mystery to me, software development by Sony is crap, best example would be the camera software still poor since…
I disagree that Lollipop brings only few new stuff for the user, I think it is the most important upgrade since ICS and I would really like to see it operational on my Z1c.

  • Abdul Ghani

sony improved thier camera since 2013 a77 mark 2 is the best in the market now beats (Fuji,Olympus, Nikon, Canon) in everyway jpeg and raw both are awesome plus i am intrested in this too

and talking about phone camera z2 andz3 are fine (not best) with manual mode but auto is indeed very poor indeed i found that there is still alot compression in sonys software even in manual mode but results are fine not the best because sonys hardware is the best but software is ok

  • Steven Khoo Skkl

Hey Faisal. Just about Z1 Compact, How drastic was the difference? A little more insight please.
Also,IPhone auto mode has nothing to shout out about..Went to see one a few days ago..It kept refocusing and adjusting the exposure and white balance, even when the scene didn’t change.. It change from warm to cool to warm again in just a few seconds, snap a few shots and it didn’t really impressed me at all..looks alright but nothing like the kind of colour i saw on your Flickr page..

  • Ricardo Ca

    Always. Every single time.

  • Faisal Armand

As for the comparison vs Z1 Compact, here are the sample 100% crops

It is pretty drastic, dude. It’s like comparing cameras with a different sensor size & resolutions. In all conditions, Z2 was superior. In daylight, Z2 has better colours, better dynamic range, better contrast, and superior details. In indoors and night time, Z2 is a lot better too. Z1C even at ISO 200 shows grain, artifacts, and ringing halos. While Z2 has none of those defects

For the iphone. As a matter of interest, which iphone did you test? Yes, in the viewfinder, the camera does indeed refocusing, etc. But when you capture the scene in like 10 times or so, the results won’t change. And what is great about iphone camera is the correct & precise selection of ISO and shutter speed.

  • Steven Khoo Skkl

I tested the IPhone 6 and 6+..It did refocus on the viewfinder frequently, but that was for a still scene with no light change or anything.. As for ISO, I can say that it’s pretty darn accurate but maybe not the best for indoors. Colour reproduction is maybe not too accurate compared to what my eyes see..But that is a matter of opinion I guess…Have you tried it out??Because I wouldn’t want to use the phones for a wide angle shot like how I would on say a QX10.. Detail was not really preserve outside the centre though..That is what I saw in my indoor for the white balance.. It gets pretty hectic choosing from cool and warm, that is what I meant..It definitely takes its time on choosing it’s white balance, but it does tend to be pretty accurate..

  • Faisal Armand

Hmm.. Maybe that’s the phase detection autofocus that triggers all the time. IMO, colour reproduction of iphone camera is mostly accurate but slightly oversaturated but iphone camera surely loves a warm (yellow) white balance, it’s been persistent since the iphone 5.

As for the pixel level image quality of iphone 6, well I think it’s good but nothing to write home about. Also people tend to like them so much, so I think it is safe to say that iphone 6 camera is overrated

Look at this: a night shot sample of iphone 6 and Xperia Z3

Z3 shot at ISO 320 & 1/32s shutter speed and still captures better details and less noise than the iphone 6 that shot at ISO 250 & 1/30s shutter speed! Also iphone 6 suffers from purple fringing where Z3 does not (suggesting that iphone 6’s lens is not that good)

Well, if the Z3 was shot at the night scene mode and choose ISO 50 & 0.5s shutter speed, the iphone 6 would definitely be drastically outclassed XD

  • Steven Khoo Skkl

Yes..I agree 100% with you..I found nothing interesting about the IPhone 6 camera besides the accurate white balance.. It surely is overrated as it is over saturated, IMO. I hate over saturated colours..XD
You are right all yhe way with that comparison

I don’t trust verge reviews at all they always hated sony products always gave low score if u check the review of a77 mark 2 that camera beats all other brands in same price range it has an average of 9+ in review round up plus a7 mark 2 is awesome in low light with very fast focus thanks to its 5 way stabilization which no other camera offers in the same category ive already done my research i am confident that these camera and a6000 are awesome

  • I can not wait …. my xperia z2 waits anxiously …

I won’t be suprised, if sony update my Xperia Tablet Z towards the end of 2015

  • A dissapointed one

Xperia ZR was launched 2-3 months after Xperia SP, and will still get Android 5.0. I will never stop complaining about Xperia SP because all we (users) wanted was a solid firmware. We never got it with 4.3. Tell me, why would I buy another Sony mobile phone? I’m not interested in semi-working custom ROMs.

Bring Lollipop to Xperia M2 !!!!!!

  • madanlmg

The problem with copying files to the SD card is the only reason why I am waiting for the lollypop update, else i’m okay with kitkat too.

  • Patrick Jurdana

    Lollipop for Xperia M2 :)

  • Sumo

What does the Android update have to do with Apple??????? Apple uses Android too???? Samsung on the other hand, bleh…. You should rephrase what you said and say:

Apple and Samsung is always hasty

They can’t win Sony because their phones bend and are ugly, they will NEVER beat SONY.

    Nuff said.

Low grade comment from one of the many idiots of the world.

  • ash

One is you too. More idiot than him.

  • ash

No no 2020. People don’t have work to do

  • ash

Atleast navigation keys should have been changed. Lollipop ones look more uniform

Hello folks. Please like this comment so everyone see and read this.

I have just asked SonyXperia on twitter if they are getting a new UI aside with the lollipop update. I got this reply:

  • LouieTran

By next month Android 5.1 will be out on the Nexus devices. Too slow :(

  • har

For those who can’t wait search this “Android 5.0.2 Lollipop AOSP nightly builds start for many Xperia devices”

  • Ayman Abu Kraiem

SONY might not be able to win Apple & Samsung regarding firmware
updates but definitely WINS them both regarding specs & durability
coz both Apple & Samsung are never been good at anything except
making either phones with stone-age specs like iPhone 6 or making phones
with worst materials ever like Samsung.. on the other hand, when SONY
releases an update it’s almost flawless.

  • CopperStew

So no update for Z Ultra GPE? that’s quit unfortunate

  • Daniel Johanzon

where is the update to z3c sony it is February !!!
