CaptureGoogle has today formally unveiled Android 5.1 Lollipop, confirming that the update is now rolling to Nexus devices. New features include multiple SIM card support, Device Protection and high definition (HD) voice along with the usual stability and performance improvements.

Device Protection is one of the most important features, as it will provide better security against stolen devices. If your Android phone is stolen, the phone will remain locked until you sign in with your Google account, (even if the phone is reset to factory settings). However, it’s unclear what would happen if a thief tried to flash a new ROM.

Sony has included high definition voice in past updates, giving users HD voice calling quality between compatible handsets. Obviously it will be a while, before we see this update on Sony Xperia devices – first things first, let’s get Android 5.0 rolling.
