I just want an z3 with non dual sim in the middle east >_< I really like this big boy , but I also hate dual sim phones ! I hope the z4 will not be like his brother -_- I DON'T WANT dual sim flagships in my country (EGYPT) .

  • theskig

So it supports 2 LTE lines at same time? Both connected or not?

  • i like it

  • theskig

    I don’t believe you can’t find a single SIM Z3 in Egypt

  • Shehab Skull

Trust me all is dual sim version only in Egypt,Suadia Arabia and all other countries in the middle east you can check this by yourself :
    http://Www.extrastores.com (Suadia Arabia)
    https://mobileshop.com.eg (Egypt)

However I can wait for the z4 still happy with my z :3

  • P9

this is what Sony replies to us when we say Sony releases 2 flagships ayear.
Sony be like, how about 2 years a flagship? LOL

  • theskig

Very strange if you imagine that in many countries like here in Italy it’s quite difficult to find one! I had to order mine from Hong Kong!
Btw many greetings to all people from Egypt, one very close friend of mine is from Faiyum. I spent some beautiful days there!

  • Makozak

I live in Lebanon and have a Z3 Single Sim :)

  • Svnjay

Why couldn’t they just do the Z4 Dual instead and give me the Z4 Ultra while they’re at it?

  • Shehab Skull

    Send me one :P

  • Shehab Skull

I am happy to know that someone had enjoyed his time in our country ^^ We welcome you in any time :)

  • monx®

does this means dual standby up to LTE on both sim cards?
currently my D6633 can support 4G on both sim of course but if 1 sim is set to 4G, another is capped to 2G only & vice versa swappable.

  • Mokhtar Mouhib

  • mUSICA

Few Weeks, Few Weeks , Lolipop For Older Z Series….waitng Game

  • djsilentg

Does anyone in the UK have a dual xperia z3 cause i’m thinking of getting one. Are they good?

  • Azar

Dude just don’t use the 2nd sim slot then.

  • John Jay

Both Sims maybe can use 4G signals in both sims, but the question is can both network data be use simultaneously? no, still either of the sim., its just the matter of convenience maybe that both sims need not to configure which network type as both are ready. This means it will suck the battery fast, knowing that 4G/LTE is battery hog, so as the heating issue when data is turned on. unless they also upgraded the capacity of the battery to 3500 or even 4000 but I doubt.

  • Vuyo Ncube

Z3 isn’t even a year old and people are already whining.

  • Emil Oskarsson

Im growing sick of people who complain about that lollipop never comes for older Xperia Z series, se it like this instead: IT WILL BE UPDATE. It will get the newer android version. Even after all the new z devices launched by Sony the first Z generations were not forgotten. They did keep up with the updates, altough the newer once recieved it earlier but i dont mind that. Xperia Z have seen updates like 4.1.2, 4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4.2, 4.4.4 and soon to be 5.0.2 and even perhaps 5.1 after that. Dont you dare to complain again…. Sent from an xperia Z user!

  • Problem is that it gets updates slower but that’s fixed with 5.1 so no complaints

  • Sadman Khan

Off topic but. Can you work on Z3 Compact please? :’D

  • mUSICA

dude. as u say ur sick of people who complain…. well those same ppl arent free every month…just like me there are ppl who wants the update b4 we leav for our jobs abroad…while we come home after a yr… so we dnt have time to wait for the update

  • omar

Because sony is not in the game, z3 can’t compete with m9 s6 g4.

  • japolis

you want the update because you work?
    what the actual fuck

  • omar
  • Luis Ramirez

to be fair the xperia z was released with a oudated 4.x.x while everyone was up xP

  • browngeek

FYI only China Mobile (Hong Kong) supports TD-LTE in Hong Kong. China Unicom (Hong Kong) operates through an MVNO. Both China Mobile and China Unicom have separate networks in Mainland China. Obviously this phone will be great for those who travel frequently to China. One sim for their HK number on FDD LTE and one sim for their China number on TD LTE.

  • Chan Kin Cheung

yes you are correct 4GLTE is a battery killer on its own. However, if this phone supports dual 4G standby as we were led to believe, the real problem is when one sim is using 4G, the another sim, having roaming signals, will search its 4G signals but in vain. This action is really killing battery fast

  • imparanoic

as it’s for china market, can see that it’s uses china 3g system, not hong kong ( which is gsm like most of the world), so no-no for me

It is not easy like this .. I will have problems in rooting and getting the official updates , and when my z3 becomes old maybe I will not find a way to unlock the bootloader , and also I’am not sure if I will find a version of cm for him .
    THIS’S REALLY SUCKS .
    THANKS SONY .

  • Azar

In fact you can unlock any BL no matter which model, but yeah I know what you mean. I understand your pain. My friend has exynos note 3 and I feel so sad for him, and his development &roms.

  • monx®

so i tested the firmware, no different other than new added band frequency support. not both sim on LTE/4G standby mode. one up to 4G, another capped to 2G. Lets move on.. :p

  • Wilhelm Wei

How are software updates normally for variants like this? My D6683 is stuck in 5.0.2

  • Andrea Zuccaro

Wilhelm, can you confirm your sony D6683 can get 4g signal on both sim? I need this feature cause my operator, the same on my 2 sim, has frequences from 3g to 4g signal (when i’m in 2g area, goes roaming and don’t want the second sim on roaming all the time). Thanks.

    Ps: Battery?

  • Andrea Zuccaro

You tested the firmware on different phone model? Cause this feature could be linked to hardware, not software. So, have you tried model d6683? Thanks

  • Renovatio

So, can both sim get 3g/4g signal at same time?

  • Renovatio

So, can both sim get 3g/4g signal at same time? Please

  • Emil Oskarsson

I don’t know since I have the global c6603 model and not the dual sim model :p
