I got the update yesterday night and I was so excited about this update. The battery life is not amazing like it was in Kitkat but I can still use it for the whole day with just single charge.

How ever I really don’t understand about the Adaptive light function, I want it to be adaptive with the environment

  • Fahim geyas

Mee too.. But still waiting for update on Xperia z..

I got notification that a software update is available yesterday…thought it’s the latest build–but I got a lower build number…. 23.1A.1.28? I’m also using Z3 Compact – D5833. I hope they’ll also release this latest one here in the Philippines.

Here in the US, I just installed it via PC Companion on my Z3 Compact (D5803).
I’m waiting for it to complete the reboot process.

When everyone here talking about how lollipop XXXXX, we can only just look at you guys saying nothing.

  • Steve Pony

Just installed it on my Xperia Z3C, Thailand. Don’t know what’s really new about it, but I have the “close all” button now. Nice to have. ;)

One question if anyone can help: I have Z3 compact on 4.4.4. didn’t update to Lollipop yet because of bugs. I would like to update directly to 5.1. once it is released. So my question is will it possible to update directly from 4.4.4. to 5.1 using OTA or PC Companion? Currently I have pending OTA update for 5.02 in update center that I am ignoring. So will any future OTA updates also show up in my update center or I first must update to one that is currently pending (5.02) in order to next version appear in update center ? Also maybe all future updates will appear in PC companion so that I can chose which one to install ? I don’t want to mess with flash tool and manually flash ROM. So what are my options. Thanks in advance ! Markes

use it made backup and full factory reset , clean the SD card also, update all the updates related to apps, restore the backup , then use you will surprise it will more then kit kit .as per battery terms
mine is d6502 and i am happy with battery after lollipop update,

  • brick

Yes it’s most likely going to be possible but nobody can say for sure right now, but as of right now lollipop has no bugs whatsoever and it’s a definite improvement over Kitkat so you should update already just to be on the safe side.

  • Markes Doomer

Thanks for the answer. I am concerned about sound issues (equalizer and clear audio + outside Walkman because I use Poweramp), since listening to music is most important aspect of my phone. So I will probably wait until these bugs are fixed (future Lollipop build).

Is it really only me who still has not got Lollipop 5.0 for my Xperia Z1compact in Baltic’s?
Seems everyone else are talking already about next update.

  • brick

The equalizer is not a bug but they made it so that only apps that “request ” it will use it. Poweramp can use his own eq or the Sony one if you enable it, I know for sure because I use Poweramp with Sony eq as well. To let Poweramp use the Sony eq simply enable MusicFX in Poweramp settings and disable dvc if you want to use both eqs at the same time (not recommended). If you want to tweak it just hold the MusicFX icon under tone-vol in Poweramp.

Does your phone has “native” Baltic customization? It might not.
I have Z3c and recently received second Lollipop update.

  • Ants Rätsep

I bought it from biggest local carrier EMT. How can I check “native” Baltic customization?

  • M?rcis Buhholcs

    Should be native then.
But you can check it in Settings–>About phone–>Diagnostics–>Facts.
    Check section “Software” under “Customization”.
Should be 1279-4151 for your Z1c
And current software version is 14.4.A.0.157 R2C – which i suspect is not Lollipop. I think Sony hasn’t pushed out Lollipop for Z1 in Baltics yet.

  • Ants Rätsep

    Can’t find any “Customization”
Under Device facts -> Software I see:
    Android version 4.4.4
    Version: 14.4.A.0.157
    Software ID D5503 R2C

  • M?rcis Buhholcs

Well from what i can see in XperiFirm Lollipop firmware is not out yet for Baltic region Z1c unfortunately.

  • Hug Mni
