Google Photos announced: Store a lifetime of photos for free

Google Photos_5Google has announced “Google Photos” a new approach to store and organise your photos and videos. The standalone app is now live on Android (see the APK link below), iOS and the web that will let you store an unlimited number of photos (up to 16MP) and videos (to 1080p). Your photos and video will be automatically backed up and synced across all of your devices. If you want to find out more check out the video below and the source link.

    wait can you not choose both original and high quality? i.e. after you fill the 27GB it uploads it in High quality or B allows you to increase the storage

    So what does “high quality” mean?

  • Is it better than Sony Album though?
    (Not considering the storage; it is obvious that Google Drive is much more reliable than Playmemories Online.)

  • Whatever is above 16MP will become 16MP. You can still store your pics at original resolution but it will eat your Drive storage.

    There is a really cool feature that lets you search your photos just like you would on Google image search.

    I want to use this because I think Google’s security is solid af, but Google already uploaded all of my photos on my G+ account 5 years ago without me ever allowing it. So it’s not that I don’t trust their security, but whether or not they upload it to G+.
