Sony Camera Port to CM12_1
If you are running CyanogenMod 12.1 or AOSP for the Sony Xperia M, SP or V, then you will be keen to hear about an exciting new mod from XDA member xperiaz2. He has managed to port the Xperia Z4 framework and Sony’s stock camera to run on the above-mentioned custom ROMs.

This means you will get access to Superior Auto and Manual modes along with a host of camera apps including Sweep Panorama, Info Eye and Background Defocus amongst others. This news comes just in time as CM12.1 recently added full support for the camera button (activate in Settings > Buttons). All of the installation instructions and download links can be found in the source link below.

This is actually a quite wonderful news, the only thing that stopped me for using Cyanogenmod as a daily driver was their stock camera.
Can’t wait this to happen to the Xperia Z2, finally I’ll be able to bring MultiRom to a good use !! :)

Here’s hoping for a successor to the Xperia SP this year. And hopefully it’s supported longer too

I am using Xperia M dual sim version, but due to the unavailability or lack of using two sim card simultaneously, still am in 4.3 (official version) . can anyone out there confirm whether CM12 or 12.1 (which one is latest) is released & working properly on XM dual?

  • zaid

the SP should be treated better becuas its more superieur than the L but the M shouldn’t

  • Azar

As far as I remember, Google added support for dual Sim in 5.1, so you should be able to use your 2nd Sim on CM12.1.

  • SM

thanks. I have never done this before..so any link for noobs?

  • Azar

Well, there’s nothing special other than installing the ROM. But u must have an unlocked bootloader in order to do so. And have a recovery backup just in case. You can find your way around XDA for installing that ROM. If u need any help u can contact me either here, or XDA. My username in XDA is Azar_98. Thanks.
