  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

    Awesome, and it’s 6.0 ooooooooo

  • Yali AA
  • Sweggity

Xperia master race unite let’s start with “where is my marshmallow?” NOW!

  • gtop

Er … a bit trivial, but marshmallows don’t really make great logos IMHO … just white blobs? Not much of a visual identity. At least lollipops had variety.

  • Melfes Wired

    Nooooooooooooooooooo! i want milkshake!!

  • Srijan Chawla

Time to do your magic Sony !!! Lets make android more beautiful with that Xperia UI :)

  • Joe Black

Sony, please don’t take a decade to deliver it.

  • KzX

    Damn Sony !
Where is Marshmallow for my Z2 !!!

  • Constantine

    Where’s my marshmallow?!

  • Bennder

Don’t be sad, I’ll make milkshake for you :)

  • Antonis Kalaitzakis

my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard :p

  • Vuyo Ncube

Where’s my Marshmallow, Sony?! It’s been 5 minutes and it’s still not on my phone aerghujaeghua rage qgh4g!!!

  • Abhi

Probably 6 months from release date as usual. Probably an extra 1-2 months for carrier versions like mine lol.

  • asgaro

    no Android Marijuana?

  • SM

  • SM

I need Android M for my old Xperia M :-)

  • smartuser8

Marshmallow on Xperia SP ??? LOL

  • Shimoda

    Where’s my marshmallow?!

  • Joachim Nilsson

Wow, I thought I’d come here and troll this post. But I guess that was completely redundant …

  • Nawi

    Where’s marshmallow for Xperia SP!!??

  • Luís Alberto Pérez

What are you taking about? Lately Sony is one of the best companies delivering updates, better than Samsung and HTC. And there is an easy software (Flashtool) to update your phone really quickly.

  • Fahim geyas

Android Milkshake 6.0.. I think this is better than Marshmallow..

  • Matt

    here we go again . . . :P

  • Makiz

    Stay Puft Xperia

  • Jaissal S

The name isn’t much to worry about…the update itself that Sony build on is what’s important. I’m excited!

  • Joe Black

What does your reply even have to do with my comment? First of all, I own 3 of their flagships, so no shit Sherlock, I know what flashtool is, and I’m well aware of anything that happens at SonyMobile within 5 minutes of it happening.
I’m a more than a loyal Sony customer.

Now, to explain my comment further.
When I said “Sony, please don’t take a decade to deliver it”, what I meant to say was “Sony, don’t take a decade to deliver it”. Nothing else. Somy hit the M insider previews pretty early, so M should (read as SHOULD) be rolling out in less time, than we had to wait for Lollipop since the day of it’s announcement.
Now, if it takes longer amount tham the wait for LP, I don’t mind personally. It’s just that it shouldn’t, and that Sony has the chance to roll it early, probably together with releasing the H2 flagship (Z5, or w/e it’s gonna be called).

Shame to waste a pretty nice opportunity to get a few good words about delivering fast updates to their ever loyal customers.

  • adeceku

Stop it! it will come first for the x10 then to other models… just wait

  • Kevin

I get that most people are just saying where’s my marshmallow and etc for fun, but others seem like they don’t really know what happened today, the only thing they announced was the NAME which is marshmallow and the number it will be which is 6.0 nothing else, don’t start saying when will Xperia Z15395 have it, they haven’t even announce when will Google will release Marshmallow for their Nexus. Overall today they only announced the name nothing else. Nothing has changed.

  • jangaleon

    I knew it.

  • Micro

a bit off topic, but.. I found that quote sort of funny (androidPIT), it’s about NEW features of android M:
    “Rotating home screen
Another surprisingly slow feature to make it to Android, the screen rotation function for the
home screen has finally made an appearance. Now you can use your phone
in landscape format both in apps and on the home screen.”

Funny, because I was using this “new” feature on all my Xperias, since the Xperia S ICS lol
Nice timing, google, pretty impressive. Even more than Sony’s update rate ;D Now, invent back the write access on SD for non-root users. In Android P, or at lest before Apple invents the SD card slot, but please do.

  • Stanley08

    What is milkshake?

  • Stanley08

  • Micro

It’s a word. I’m sure you can find it in a dictionary. Give it a try.

  • Micro

  • Micro

nah, maybe it won’t be that bad ;) I’m still laughing about that KK update sometimes, my Z1 got the 4.4.4 a few days after Nexus ;D when every other brands were still busy fixing earlier version ;] (actually, my Z2 Tablet still feels kinda.. offended by that, he got it later lol)

  • Alvin

Haha.. Well i was right. I’m good at this, am i.

  • Alvin

“where’s marshmallow for my z ultra?”

  • Alvin

And in a few days after now, sony will announce their statements about marshmallow

    Fingers crossed.

  • jokensy

Thanks god it’s not macadamia nut cookie.

  • iia3ezu

    Eagerly awaiting Android Nipples.

i ate enough lollipops till now, where is my marshmallow for z3c :D

  • coolxiau

See you next year marshmallow… :D/

Hopefully there’s update for z1 compact..

  • rygarto

I really really need it on my X10 Mini Pro! Maybe it will grow that way…

  • vigneshprince

I thought “MAngoLAssi” Will be good! haha!

  • laci_csk

It was expected that this will be the name, its a very good name.
    Go Sony Go!

  • vigneshprince

and ask it to the Sony Blog

  • Matt

hmm, sadly we cant read minds . . . so what you write is what you meant.

not many people understand this . that is why many many people sounds like an ass here

  • Matt

well i got the feeling that EOM like sony and the others are beta testers for android . . not beta testers , inventors. who tested function that are popular before google implemented it on stock android.

  • Matt

it’s decided , i will stay with kitkat until this yummy version of android comes to z3 :)

  • mountain

    Xperia Z3+ + marshmallow = roasted mashmallow?

  • siddhesh kadam

Hope to get Android Marshmallow on my T2 Ultra Dual, I bought it coz Sony was only giving updates to costly phone.. lol

  • Micro

In fact.. we are a bit. But it’s quite often that I am very convinced some feature is just very basic android functionality (like the above, service menu, moving apps to SD, etc) and I try to find it on a phone/tablet from another brand or just on AOSP rom, and.. no such thing – “oh, right, it’s not sony lol”.
Sometimes it feels like unrooted Android for Xperia has more nice features than rooted one from the others. Seriously, if I were using ONLY Xperias, I would be very surprised by his all “new” landscape mode.

  • Gbolahan

  • Alessandro Lioi

Will my Sony Xperia M4 Aqua be updated to Android Marshmallow?

  • laci_csk

What stupidity, or you are a troll?
I have T2 Ultra too, and waiting for promised 5.1, and I am very satisfied with this “no costly” phone. Sony gives updates very fair with all phones.

  • PoweredBySony

i liked more the previous boot animation. Here is the animation on Z1

  • Matt

im just glad they implemented it :p

it will be no end if we try to find who is first on what hahaha

    see? hahaha

and for SD card , its nice for data such as music documents and film . but i am against moving apps to SD

  • dragonsneeze

Does the home screen on Xperia S really rotate? I know newest Lollipop has that feature but not before.

  • wedjat

I want it on my Xperia Arc s…

Kidding aside i dont mind waiting for it for my z2 just make it good… maybe some visual improvements(not as drastic as TW) on UI

  • Luís Alberto Pérez

I’m also a loyal Sony customer because my last three phones were Sony.
The update to Lollipop performed by Sony was excellent because they skipped 5.0 and 5.0.1 that were completely shut. And I know what I’m talking about because I also own a Nexus 7 2013. I better wait for a stable update than a quick one.
I really believe that Sony will make an excellent M update.

  • bosas200

From the announcment i havent seen many major changes from 5.0 that this version would be worth to be 6.0. Am i missing something? Maybe they will announce more features in the future?

  • C3PO_1

Care to tell us what’s in it?

  • Micro

yep, it does, without any tweaks it works in car-mode (yeah, it’s also there lol), to manually turn it on you just get any app that can switch modes and/or screen orientation

newer phones switch immediately to landscape mode once in dock station (the magnetic one), I have a simple charging dock for the XS so it’s quite useful to have this mode
