Xperia Z5 Compact_32.0.A.5.32Sony Mobile has begun to roll a new firmware update for the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact (E5803, E5823) with build number 32.0.A.5.32. It is unclear whether this update is the same that Sony’s support team referred to yesterday, bringing the touchscreen fix for the white Xperia Z5 Compact models. However, users are reporting that the update improves performance. If you have updated your handset let us know what changes you’ve noticed below.

i havent seen any real improvements.i purchased the phone from amazon to use it here in the USA with tmobile and wanted to take advantage of the wifi calling but this phone didnt get it. checked other blogs to see how i can fix it and was referred to sony Europe, they told me the steps to take to see if it would work, also the battery sucks ass on this phone, no 2 day hold here, in fact i have to be by the wall charger. was hoping this update would fix it. if any 1 does have details of the improvement areas please let us know.

  • Fome

I don’t see the update yet, is it available in the US?

  • Baku

One resolved bug observed so far, multi-touch seems to work properly now and will no longer just randomly refuse to detect more than two fingers.

I can’t confirm the super sensitive touch issue yet but I will update with another comment if it’s not solved. If I don’t it probably just means it’s solved :3

Also, you may need to update via PC companion.

  • iia3ezu

A software update will not extend your battery life by leaps and bounds.

You’ve made a conscious choice to sacrifice battery life when you’ve picked a smaller phone. Don’t complain.

  • Thirukumaran

Wat about e4 Sony?? Y guys produced this phone also give us software update atleast to lollipop…. U r updating only newer costly mobiles e4 users also here please don’t forget us….

Well in the case of Z3 series, upgrade from KK to 5.0.2 reduce battery life greatly and then it again vastly improved after the 5.1.1 update.

  • Barney Mac

Battery life wasn’t great on mine, then I realised it was always awake. Check in the battery usage to see if yours is the same. Turning off double tap to wake seemed to do it for me, but just have a play with the settings. Pretty happy with battery life now. Screen brightness has a big effect too.

  • Wozn2

    You are talking nonsense.

Firstly, the Z3 compact and Z5 compact both have BETTER battery life than their larger counterparts. Why? Because the huge hi-res screens on most new phones require a huge amount of processing power to update due to the stupidly high pixel count.

Secondly, battery issues are often due to processes that have not terminated or are misbehaving (polling servers too often, not using the radio optimally). Many times in the past five years I’ve had a software update that improved battery life. On the Z3c in particular they kept making it better and better.

  • KIMI

Completely unrelated to the post, Sony needs to revise their design language!
I love the Z5 design but goddamn it the rear glass panel is already scratching.
Please let it be a full metal back for the Z6 or at least release an alternate edition Xperia Z6M or something close to that.
    Anyone who’s with me?
Sony needs to ditch the rear glass design for a more reliable rear metal design

thanks for the info, i switched it and it seems to have helped a bit. but am down to 79% after just txting since 730am. but b4 that bit of info, it would have been lower.

  • David van der Zande

I have a Xperia Z2 for over one year now and it looks like new. You just need to be a bit more careful with glass back.

Just got a Z5C(Taiwan ver.) preloaded software version doesn’t support LTE(Only 4G). I updated to the 32.0.A.5.32 which doesn’t have LTE either. I’m on T-Mobile US. I think the best option is to load SW ver. from a carrier/country that supports LTE on Z5C since there is no US SW ver. yet. My question is: Is anyone out there using Z5C on T-Mobile US LTE? Are you able to utilize band 12 (MHz 700)? If so, which carrier/country SW ver. are you running?”XPERIA Z5 COMPACT ON T-MOBILE US LTE”

Some series have mobile radio active bug. Google has comfirmed it. Thats afffecting major portion of all Z devices that are on Lollipop. But some devices don’t have it. And repairing won’t resolve htat issue for most devices. Try installing other regions rom. That’s all useres can do. 5.1.1 solved the issue for some that’s what you experienced or heard :)

  • KIMI

    Eyyh?
Did Sony completely abandon the M5
Where’s the firmware update for all the horrendous bugs us M5 users go through?
I hope it’s included with the new Marshmallow update

  • Robert Merlo

I have a z5c that I got from amazon based off the story xperia blog put out on what would work state side. am on tmobile and its been working good for me on all bands, but this update did fuck up my mms settings and can now no longer get them to down load or send out any, so to get a send out pics, I am stuck using fb messenger or whats app. tmobile tech tried to help and couldn’t fix it. they said to talk to sony.

  • kyr100

I installed a Central European ROM and LTE is displaying now.

Here is T-Mobile APN – You should find MMS there too:
    https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-17581
    MMSC:”http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc” without “

  • Robert Merlo

How did you get the central European Rom?

  • kyr100

Here is the source and instructions:
    http://www.xperiablog.net/forum/resources/xperia-z5-compact_e5823_32-0-a-5-32_central-europe-1_generic.473/

You will also need to install XperiFirm & Flashtool to your PC

  • Robert Merlo

ya I have that same software update and I just checked my apn settings and they match but still not gettings mms to come in. are you?

  • kyr100

    Yes, I am getting MMS.
This is how mine looks like:
    APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 260
    APN type: default,supl,mms

  • Robert Merlo

Where did you purchase your z5c?

  • Pingback: ???? ?????? ????? ???? ?? ????? ???? 32.0.A.5.32 ???? ???? Z5 ??????()

  • kyr100

Got it from a local seller in NYC(Taiwanese import)

  • Jaissal S

Anyone on Z5 have all of there widgets randomly dissappear after unlocking the phone? That happened to me this morning lol.

  • kyr100

Try to delete the APN and re-add it. Remember to save.

  • I have the same Problem.. Same Phone… Taiwan Ver.. T-Mobile US Are you having the LONG Lag time with MMS>?

  • Where can I find this to manually enter?

  • kyr100

Settings ==> More ==> Mobile Networks ==> Access Point Name
Select the + and add the details. When done, tap on options on top right corner and hit save.

  • kyr100

everything works fine for me. Double check your APN settings.

  • Robert Merlo

How can I tell if i have a Taiwan versionversion? Am still having issues with my mms and all my apn settings are exactly like yours.

  • Robert Merlo

Are you at least getting your mms to download and come in? Mine are not at all. It says it will down load when on network and if I send 1 it says queued for sending.

  • Robert Merlo

hey cabbie, did u get yours to work and get mms?

  • Roberto. I had to actually call Sony… They had me Go through a Process with the PC Companion App From there Site… Their tech support was very helpful.. I basically had to ‘repair’ my phone. Using the app.. Backed Up all My Info.. Reinstalled the Software.. Got the Update, and Now it’s working fine…… Night and Day… Call them and the will walk you through it.. VERY HELP FULL>>>> 5 Star Support…

  • Robert Merlo

Did you call sony USA or sony Europe, I called sony USA and they told me they couldn’t help so I emailed sony Europe and they told me to do the repair on the computer software also but still not getting my mms. Dang it, really frustrating.

  • Sony USA… Did You download the Internet Settings for your Carrier>?
    Settings> More> Internet Settings?

  • Robert Merlo

Cabbie, thanks a million man, am back up and running! Your awesome dude!

  • Dude, Glad I could Help.. People Help Me All The Time.. Plug Into the PC Companion and Get the Update If you haven’t.. Makes it even Better…. And Me and My Buddy have and App.. http://www.scoutit.us video Lots of cool peeps on it.. P.O.D. Chris Nunez, Me/// Lol… Check It…

  • Robert Merlo

ya this was really helpful and so glad I got the full potential of it. have you been able to get the wifi calling feature? ill check out the app, thanks.

  • ???

Same here, used mine daily for 1.5 years and there’s not a scratch on it. The only thing I do is put it in a leather pouch when carrying it in my pocket. Other than that, I didn’t handle it any more delicately than the regular care I take of all my electronic devices.

  • ???

It would be good etiquette to release an official changelog along with any firmware update. So far, I still haven’t found anything of the sorts. Where would that appear, if it will still be released?

I’m a bit hesitant loading the update because so far I haven’t noticed any of the issues other Z5C users have reported on the net. I’m a bit wary of the new firmware doing more harm than good. Although I also haven’t found any clearly negative feedback from people who went through with the update already.

  • peltruquin

The fact that your phone displays 4G doesn’t mean is not LTE. 4G is LTE for asia, they like to display 4G instead of LTE for whatever reasons. My phone says 4G but when looking at the LTE discovery app it shows is connected to either band 4 or 12 LTE

  • Robert Merlo

Whats the name of that app so I can check it out.

  • peltruquin

    LTE Discovery
