in Xperia Z4 and Z3+ series

Xperia Z3+Sony Mobile has officially launched the Xperia Z3+ (E6553) into the US market, as expected. The Xperia Z3+ product page now links to B & H Photo Video who is selling the handset for $499.99. The phone comes with a 1-year USA Manufacturer Warranty and is available in both black and white colours. Hopefully, we’ll see unlocked versions of the Xperia Z5 family launch in the US soon.

Xperia Z3+ US launch

So they finally replaced that ‘Coming …soon’ crap with a link to B&H site after 3/4 weeks. That’s certainly a huge progress.

  • el_sur

    No thank you.

  • Sola Hoi

Price is reasonable, but are the heating issues solved?

  • HAWX

Much design So heat Very camera such battery.. Z3+ is best TrolPhone from Sony

  • HAWX

Unfortunately not really. If you don’t play graphical intensive games like GTA or Asphalt series, then it’s a good phone except it’s rear camera. It’s kind of meh :)

  • Matt

i love you sony but you’re sometimes just stupid.

  • Raj Singh

It would be nice to see Sony Mobile release products in a timely manner.

  • Svnjay

Sony needs to release their phones in a timely manner.

  • Uzair Syed

Well at least this even happened….although its not even through T-Mobile this time.
I still need some love on the Verizon front though. Z5v please!

  • FermentionIt

I’ve been waiting for z5 compact, so I can get a non-enormophone, fingerprint reader, improved camera, and US warranty. Bummer. This is a spit in the face by Sony USA. Holiday season approaching soon and Sony will not be getting my dollars. Z3+ is a good phone, but knowing this is already one generation back from their current lineup, it makes it hard to justify. I’d order the z5c from Amazon for a few bucks more if I knew it came with U.S. power supply and warranty.

  • Aldi Wan Kenobi

This is really weird … why waste time in bringing the Z3+ in the USA when everyone who’s actually aware of Xperia devices and interested to buy Sony Xperia already knows Z5 is out.

  • FermentionIt

Your sarcasm epitomizes everyone in the U.S. looking for the z5 lineup. Funny…

  • FermentionIt

No kidding. It’s wacky. We’re probably seeing European stock repackaged with a US power supply. Left overs from stock Sony can’t sell in other markets I’d guess.

  • nfs2010

I’d recommend a TW version off eBay as it comes with US compatible charger in sealed box. That’s how I ordered my Z5P. Any eBay seller with high ratings are just as good (actually better – I’d say) as any third party seller on Amazon.

Who asked for this?. If they would release the z5 line with WiFi calling support on T-Mobile like HTC just did with the A9 that would be news. This is just the making of a fire sale in a few months.

  • FermentionIt

    I’ll check it out. Thanks.

  • nfs2010

So which phone did you end up with? Moto?

  • Better go for Z5 Series. Its going to be outdated soon.

  • jamie evans

What do you mean by “launched in the US”? It’s been available for purchase online. And Z5s also go on sale online already… I want to know the difference between “being able to purchase online” and “launched in the US”…

  • Svnjay

None. I didn’t buy a phone but I wouldn’t ended up with the Moto X Pure if I bought a new phone.

  • zip

Just FYI, the Z5 also heats up and throttles the CPU when running graphical intensive games and emulators.

  • Nikola Maruni?

  • XperiaBlog

Most retailers selling the handset previously were international variants which had no official Sony USA warranty. If there was a problem, you would have to ship back to the retailer you bought it from. This is the same case with those who are selling the Xperia Z5 series through eBay, Amazon market place etc,

  • jxPerience

    Good price

  • crazychef83

Well I was not waiting for this phone. I decided to spend my money and go with the Xperia Z5 Premium. Ordered it on thursday from Clove and I hope to get the goodies that where included in a while supplies last promotion.
    Will get it sometime today.

  • JonShipman

Clove.co.uk. Got my Z5P from there with a free speaker and headphones.

  • Emil Oskarsson

Still not Sonys fault that the phone market in USA is so controlled by the phone operators :p

  • This confirms we will NOT see the Z5, but possibly Z6. But … Considering how Sony launched a compact, regular, and premium (phablet) version. I highly doubt we won’t see an Xperia until Z7 …

  • Matt

yea , i did not take in the factor that sony have pused this for the last couple of months before z5 series.

its not like they can do that in 2 days

  • Yujun Li Linwood Kinji

Seriously? Verizon? Plz… just get the unlocked

  • Uzair Syed

The phones don’t work on Verizon.

  • nfs2010

Cool. Z6 will beat everything anyway :)

  • Svnjay

Agreed, the Z6 will be a beast ?

But why release this and not the Z5? This and the Z5 have nothing to do with the carriers. Both are unlocked and work just the same in the US. Then again, we can easily buy a Z5 from amazon or elsewhere. They just need to do it officially. Sony just sees the US as a place to offload their older stuff.

  • jonyah

    amazon

  • Matt

maybe the they need to sort out thing we do not know in the background .

i cant really say for sure. i bet sony also want to sell z5 series in US

  • crazychef83

hey are you located in the U.S. ? The reason i ask is because I got mine yesterday from clove also. I’m on t-mobile and wanted to confirm that on the screen you have 4g or lte on the network bars?

  • JonShipman

4g is LTE. Mine says 4G when it connects to LTE. When you connect to HSPA+ you’ll see H+

  • crazychef83

Thanks. i know that 4g and lte are the same it’s just that in some phones it says lte instead of 4g and when i mentioned that to the tmobile guy on the phone he said that depending on the phone you get one or the other. I was just curios on that.

  • Tim Rox Westerholm

    Nutella…that’s why bro

  • Tim Rox Westerholm

Worlds 2nd biggest Sony Mobile office is located here in Sweden, Lund. That’s why our carriers and regular retailers sell almost every single Sony Mobile product for reasonable price levels. I’m a lucky man :D

  • jonathan3579

    In the US?

  • JonShipman

    Yes

  • jonathan3579

Nice, thank you. How long does it take to ship to the US? Did you pay the non-VAT price? Sorry for all the questions but I’m more interested now.

  • JonShipman

Non-VAT (that’s for the EU) and it shipped on Friday and I got it the following Monday.
