Sony Concept_MMB29M.Z1.3536_3Sony Mobile has kick-started its Concept for Android firmware updates once again – releasing build number MMB29M.Z1.3536-somc for Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact owners on the program. This is a small update that includes Google’s February 2016 security patches. Sony developers also confirmed that they will start to release Concept updates more frequently from now.

    LOL FAIL

  • Arch9

    What am I missing here?

  • WilliamTell13

The build number sure changed a lot. Seems like there would be more changes.

  • AudioAw

It’ll be nice if they integrate stamina mode with the next concept update. I’m getting good battery life from the concept, much better than lollipop, but it still falls behind KitKat.

  • Samuel

They are still working on the Android concept. That’s a Fail. They should be working harder at least on the beta program.

  • Stuart Gardoll

Z5 users still left out in the cold.

  • azzido

Z5 seems most abandoned Z phone ever, for sure top 3.
    My last Sony.

Still do not get this concept, looks the same as regular one so what’s the point?

  • Dominic81

Hey Sony…. you sold us an expensive phone called the “Xperia Z5” back in October… Remember? We exist… SMH

  • subm

In my experience, Z5 will be abandoned 3 years later
not that soon as you think

  • Stuart Gardoll

Agree. Had I known I would have stuck with my Z3 Compact. It’s the one getting all the love from Sony!

  • Arch9

You misunderstood, the team who working on this Concept firmware is different than the main Xperia firmware team, and the Concept firmware will never become the main os for Xperia phone.

  • Little Man

But you know when they actually release a marshmallow update, it’ll be there Z5 series that get it first, right? I mean, it’d be ridiculous that the Z3s get it first…

  • Ryan

I miss Gingerbread !!! Was the best !!!

  • Andrius Mikalauskas

Hey concept users, are you able to use any headphones with your z3c??

  • Joe Black

    It’s Sony. You never know.

  • Little Man

That’s true… So true it hurts.

  • Dominic81

It has been already, since December. That phone still have many problems waiting to be fixed, and not a single word or update from Sony.

Worst after-sales service I’ve ever seen from a phone manufacturer

  • sebastianer

If you want a concept in the Z5. At least try to ask Sony for this here:

    https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z5-Z5-Compact-Z5-Premium/Could-Sony-bring-the-Concept-Firmware-to-the-Z5-family/td-p/1087080

There is no concept for Z5 devices.. I bet we’ll have another buggy release like Lollipop with broken auto brightness, Z5 firmware is so bugged.

  • sebastianer

GB was the best of the first versions.
KK is the best of the second group of versions.
There is no best release for the new group (started with Lollipop/Marshmallow) yet.

Xperia Beta Program not dead, it is about to start

  • Well, although the release note only states that this was a security patch upgrade, the battery on my Z3 Compact is slightly better now and phone does not get that warm (compared to previous release).

  • Yes, both bluetooth and cable headphones work fine. Why?

  • ECE

I know what you mean, I bought an expensive unlocked Z3 when it first came out.

This is probably my last Sony device. They do not, as a company, know how to unify behind a common design vision. The whole of Sony’s mobile business feels like one big R&D cell – occasionally they come out with something incredibly cool, but none of their designs ever seem to reach maturity. Zero user-feedback loop.

On the other side is Apple, who, for all their issues, knows how to unify behind a design and interface concept, and does not leave customers from 6 months ago out in the cold.

    Xperia Z2? :(

  • Kariko

Saw it on another post comment

  • Andrius Mikalauskas

because on lolipop, sms audio sync headphones does not work, I’m able to push sound via soundabout app, hopefully it will be workink on marshmallow.. It’s some kind of smart connect software issue

Does this concept has Adroid’s 6.0 “Adoptable Storage” feature?

  • Rober

Has this Marshmallow Concept the option to activate “Adoptable Storage” option to SD card?
