Pure nonsense and spoken like a true Sony fan!

Marshmallow still in beta? Good work that from Sony

  • David T

Just a few months behind LG…

  • Musharab

Good Work… But Too Slow, Next Version ….Android N Preview is already out.

  • wip971

Is there a file that I can flash on my Z3c even if I m not part of the beta ?

  • Blazing Mak

Even Samsung phone haven’t announce Android 6.0 yet before Android 6.0 announced at Xperia Z5 series.

  • fried_egg

Still no Z5 EE 6.0 firmware…. & the firmware is essential for 4G+ (90mbps) & wificalling with EE so have to have it.

  • Brick

    Good news everyone! Oh wait…

  • Matt

Swiping away with 6.0.1 on my pixel c. .

  • Deckard_Cain

Just take your time and make it as bug-free as possible Sony.

  • Sadman Khan

How is it? Have the initial issues been fixed? I’ve heard that there were a few

  • So aflter the “final fix in the next release”, it will roll out globally?

  • Sze Wai YU

Can it repair the problem from protection by myxperia because my handset has been locked down for one month….

  • Matt

its fine, yes wifi is a bit weak in comparison to my z3, not a problem.

the rest is just sublime , really solid

  • Chuck

They had 6 months and 1 day as of today. I’m all for stable software over rushed updates, but there has to be a line. I can wait a few more weeks, but not much longer than that.

  • hmmm

still no android 6 for xperia Z5!sony once again is late with more than one month!I bet I’ll wont get it in April either!

  • Wolf0491

It works pretty good. I didn’t even know these bugs existed lol. I’ve had no problems

  • Wolf0491

I don’t have the compact and flashed it. I would assume it can’t be too different. Go check out xda

  • Luc

2 testruns and still problems after month . Very professional.

  • Lee McRobbie

Google runs in there own world, centered around Nexus and one devices. There logic want the best now buy our product. But with Sony you have so many pluses apart from latest firmware. But Sony do seem to be going 6th gear with mm than any other update.

  • Alvin

yup, I still waited for my s6 edge to get marshmallow, and most of z5 series/z4 series users already got it.

  • Oldtimer42

Shopping for a new phone due to this. Love the Z3 Compact but even stagefright has not been addressed yet.

HTC 10 Mini rumours are quite interesting as a possible small form factor powerhouse.

  • Licaon_Kter

An you can’t get it on XperiFirm?
If you have a device locked on a network then complain to the Telco, not to Sony.

  • I had read somewhere that stamina mode will be back in 6.0.1 update. There is no talk about that here. Will we get Stamina mode in marshmallow update?

  • Afzal Zainal Rddz

Sony taking a very long time in 6.0 to make it perfect. Maybe this is the last update recieved for their old flagship as a gift to be remembered.

  • Stergios Papoutsoglou

And I still sitting here with my m5 still on 5.1…

  • Zbaeia

However, Sony Mobile has also confirmed that the Android M update will be limited to devices that can pass the requirements for the new platform. In the Xperia Z-series, lineups from Xperia Z2 upwards are slated to receive Android 6.0.1, and the Xperia Z1 and older flagships will need a manual flash and a compatible cooked ROM if the users will insist on checking out Android M. Meanwhile, as for other Xperia lineups, only the Xperia M5 and M4 Aqua, as well as the C4 and C5 Ultra, are listed on the Android M update page.

  • Zbaeia

    Xperia Z2 Tablet Xperia Z3 Tablet Xperia z3 Compact Xperia C5 Xperia M5 Xperia M4 Xperia C4 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow :)

  • Actman

Any luck for Z5 bug fixing?

  • Matt Bailey

Marshmallow would be nice….what would be even nicer would be if my Z3C were patched to fix stagefright! Exploit discovered in July, Sony patch not issued until December, and not pushed to my stock phone now…as of April.

  • It´s curious that the Xperia X line have it, so i hope it will come With 6.0.1

  • Nav

Oh great! So when does it coming officially to our handsets!!!

  • Bence

where is ftf or .zip file? pls upload because i have unlocked bootloader and i dont get mm beta update.

  • hmmm

  • Oh maaan…. Any updated about the merged storage?

  • Gästen med gesten

good morning mate :) i havent said anything about that, but people have complain of slow update cycle and bugs before, then this a good way to wait of a stable software :=) i agree its pretty damn good and works here to_=)

  • Geese Howard

    They’re listening :)

  • Tibor Hornyák

    MOST s6 users also.

  • fluxx

Why is everybody so mad about the missing Merged Storage? It’s a very risky concept, slow cards will slow down the whole system and errors on the card may lead to bigger system errors. I wouldn’t recommend to use it. The existing ability to move most of an apps data on the sd card is much more save and almost the same. (I know, if you really have a whole lot of apps installed the memory will run out sometimes, I therefore wish my phone would have 32GB stock memory, but like I said I don’t think Merged Storage is a good solution.)

  • fluxx

My wife’s Samsung S6 did not get Marshmallow yet and it’s last year main flagship from Samsung. I don’t think Sony is totally behind everybody else – but also not faster.

  • Alvin

S6, s6 edge, what’s the difference? What I mean is that samsung is slower than sony these days (on updates, not on sales, sadly)

  • My Z2 is an awesome phone, and I don’t need to invest in changing it. But the constant %95 full storage is just nonsense! I can’t uninstall any more apps, and it was about %75 out of the box! It’s way cheaper to invest in a crazy amazing fast reliable SD card for the merged storage, than to buy a new phone.

  • Erico Teixeira

    Xperia E4 Lollipop???

  • Jyothi Swaroop

When will Xperia m4 aqua will get android m

  • fluxx

I moved most of the apps that I don’t use on a daily basis to the sd card and I disabled the annoying 75% Storage used message using ADB.

Do you have a carrier branded device? Because it is not normal to have about 75% of the memory full by default. That would be really annoying, I agree.

  • CopperStew

    Is Stamina mode back?

Before the update I was able to move apps over to SD card. Now I can not. Z5P

  • fluxx

They took away that option? Ouch. That will be a problem for me :( thanks for sharing!

who knows. Sony has been slow with support for their top-end phones (Z series) so the low-end ones will be behind that.

  • Darthpilsner

Thanks for breaking my phone sony. It updated itself when I was at work now I can’t even get one bar on wifi on any network and my carrier signal only shows one bar now instead of 4 like it did when the phone was running lollipop

  • Darthpilsner

Oh and thanks for making my SD card useless also

  • Darthpilsner

there is probably a good reason for that. I have 6.0 on my phone and it sucks

  • Darthpilsner

and the battery too. I now have to charge my phone everyday instead of once or twice a week

  • Julien Peron

My biggest issue is that when I’m typing, tapping, or just using my screen every couple of minutes the “Pull Down” toolbar at the top decides it would like to try to come down. It’s like a window shade that keeps falling, but never quite gets there and then flaps back up. It is SOOO frustrating as it interferes with typing and any other task I’m working on. It actually stops my touchscreen for a half a second while it flips down and back up again. SO Frustrated, and can’t find anyone else with these problems.
