Xperia X: See the first full-resolution camera samples

Xperia X Sample_1As we slowly edge closer to the summer release of the Sony Xperia X series, we will trickle any new information we can on these devices. The guys over at Recombu have recently been feeding their impressions of the Xperia X, there’s a great 24-hours hands-on impression piece here and a camera review here.

The latter brings us the first full-resolution sample pictures from the device that we have seen, outside the show floor. Recombu also confirmed that their pre-release model does not include an option to record 4K video, we have included a 1080p @ 60fps sample below. Sony made no mention of 4K recording when the handsets were released. This is even the case for the Xperia X Performance which would be more than capable of 4K recording given the inclusion of the beefy Snapdragon 820 chipset.

We know many of you like to pore over the detail, so you can check out a few of the samples below – let us know your impressions of the 23MP snapper. Check out the links above for more sample pictures including some selfie pics from the front-facing camera.

We’re posting this again here as a reminder: Please keep your comments civil and respectful to one another. Feel free to post your opinions (good or bad), but no trolling – have some sound reasons for your arguments. Hopefully, these simple reminders will encourage a healthy discussion.

  • ????

you did not include the blurry low light shot

  • XperiaBlog

We don’t want to be accused of cherry picking the ‘best’ pictures, so it is now included.

  • Tadija Djurovic

Very good images, and it is not the final version of the software. Images are not blurred in the corners like with the z5. ;)

  • Pingback: Xperia X: See the first full-resolution camera samples – ???????()

  • fluxx

Thanks god they fixed the blurry corners, the optics are quite fine now. Details in good light are very good, low light shots will always be undistinguished as long Sony sticks to its high pixel / no OIS combo.

  • CerberusSco

A vast improvement compared to the Z5. No blur!

  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

Hey BTW I wanna get something confirmed since Xperia X news came up. Yea it is bit off topic.
    Does XPERIA X (P) come in 64GB variants? http://m.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_x-7948.php

  • They look stunning! However, I’m quite surprise for no seeing a 4K recording. But I’ve just read this… Let’s wait to see if there’s some true on it:

Sony Xperia X1 smartphone: direct rival to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

    http://www.pricepony.com.ph/blog/sony-xperia-x1-smartphone-direct-rival-to-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge/

  • MrM3

xperia x is a waste of time imo. SD 650 soc, no water resistance, no 4k video etc. Why does Sony release this phone at 600 euro? Insane prices. Should be more like 400 euro. Hopefully they will not dissapoint with Xperia X Performance at least.

  • Clarence Alvarado

Maybe Sony is preparing for 4K Video Xperia camera app to be published on Google Play Store, just like others. Or they may be preparing a new app that will record 4K video with HEVC codec.

  • Kurt Kobaine

Its not wasting of time because it’s a great midrange with a great camera. The direct competitor to s7 will be release on september

  • Kurt Kobaine

WOW no OIS needed on the low light shot and still looks sharp and not blurry! Only the last pic it looks very blurry but other than that great camera.

  • Serdar Aytamaner

I checked the camera specs at gsmarena.com and it looks like X and Z5 series have the same hardware. So can we Z5 series owners hope these improvements would also be coming to our devices via a firmware update some time ?

  • WHATTHE

64 gb is only valid to dual simcard variant since the device sim tray can hold or 1 simcard and 1 sd card or 2 simcard, hence to avoid complaints they added 32gb to the dual sim

  • Ailan Hidaz

It is kind of odd that there’s still no 4k recording (even though Snap 650 and 820 support it).
Hopefully this is because they are still working on the camera software before release?

  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

Thanks for responding, so dual sim will have 64GB or they’ll stick with 32GB cause I don’t mind buying the dual sim version.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Not sure, but I believe X series have imx 318 sensor, not imx 300….
Thus these top quality lowlight shots like the mickeymouse one.
Furthermore, some sites said only 30fps 1080p video, but it has 60fps
Also some said no radio, but previewed device has a FMradio app.
Wouldnt be surprised if 4k video also came as a downloadable app for X series camera module.

  • DarkMaster

dual sim is coming with 64GB of internal storage , single sim verison is 32GB .

  • Great Dude

At that time there will be Note 6 and they should be better prepared for that phone .

  • hansip

Actually i’m unimpressed. So many digitally induced artifact in the shots. well to be honest, anyone with Z5 shouldn’t be concerned to go to X for a while. while Z2 guys might be able to upgrade then. if the battery life is on par of course but i doubt it..

  • Great Dude

The photos look nice and they prove to me that 23 MP is better than 12 MP especially when you close up and can see what is there.
However there is some noise and colors are washed away (not sure if correct term), I hope they fix that.
I hope that the last photo isn’t as good because it was a shaking hand or something like that and not just because of being in a darker place.

  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

Thank you so much bro. Much appreciate for the info. Can’t wait to get hands on Xperia X Performance.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Last one is just out of focus

  • DarkMaster

I’m glad that I was able to help , cheers !

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Its all lowlight actually. Dusk to evening…

  • rygarto

Having played around with HEVC during my CS grad, I can vouch that no phone will be able to create or record a hi-res HEVC datastream without dedicated silicon. That actually goes for decoding HEVC, too (but Qualcomm built that bit in the 820 already).

Encoding HEVC in real time is currently out of reach of virtually all desktop processors, as the complexity is way higher than H.264. Most people will be happy their shiny new GeForce helps them decode that stuff.

  • czerikcum

The video did not look impressive. So shaky. smh

  • Matt

For a camera without oisthis is really something

  • Ryuzaki Raiga

agree with you. nobody here in 3rd world country will buy midrange phone with that pricetag. people that gonna buy sony will buy x performance instead

  • Marshmallow for Z3 D6653 is out. Already downloaded it, but don’t know if to install it.

  • John Walker

    Install it. Its great

  • Thanks, I’ll have to backup some data and do a clean install.

  • Stanley Lu

Not happy with low light. Lot of noise.

  • I think it’s mid eastern, customization version is 1288-5509_R2C
(dial *#*#7378423#*#* > ‘Service info’ > ‘Software info’ > ‘Customization Version’).

    Any way to find out?

  • Vjekoslav Andric

    Much happy with lowlight.
Noise minimum, very sharp, true color. Level of detail preserved is astonishing!

  • Nodar Sixarulidze

    no

  • Celso Ishikawa

Agree…thats true… firstly I must say that I am a Sony fan, and everything thats possible to be Sony in my house it is: TVs, bluray, home-theather and some xperia smartphones I´ve bought for me and my family. That said, I´m giving up from Sony Mobile Xperia devices, since they do not deliver decent camera performance. Guys, please click the pictures above to max zoom, and you´ll see LOTS of sharpening artifacts… I´m quite disapointed… why so many artifacts Sony ?

  • Joe Black

Daj reci, odakle ti ove slike?

  • roeshak

Typical xperia camera. Same old same old. Only good at zero crop. Once you start to zoom the pictures start to lose their photo quality and the oil painting effect becomes evident. None of these are particularly very testing in terms of lighting which makes the cameras output even more disappointing. These pictures could have been taken with the z2 which says it all really. Barely any progress. Sony just doesn’t take mobile photography. Funny thing is the camera is always a centre piece of their presentation at launch.

  • Jun Yan

i have been a sony fan for years, but i gotta admit, their camera’s post processing’s no where as good as the competitors, tried galaxy s7’s camera, which just blown me away, hate to admit it, but it’s true

  • Timel

As always, Bad low lights, bad details and noisy

  • Timel

600 euro is not a midrange at all

  • Timel

    Fuck Sony!

  • DarkMaster

it’s because resolution is too high , 8MP is for lowlight shots.

  • DarkMaster

NO , It’s stupid story and probably stupid site…you waste your time visiting such .

  • DarkMaster

I just saw your reply , are you sure ? I think dual sim has dedicated slot for mircoSD ( doesn’t use same slot for the second sim card ) .

  • RockStar2005

I’ve seen other pics taken by the Xperia X phones and they looked better to me. I wonder if these ppl changed the settings or something on the phone?

I will wait for final version firmware photos to be released before judging. I’ve seen this thing happen before then the final version is released and dramatic improvements are noted.

  • DarkMaster

yeah i agree on that but imx 318 is capable of recording 720p at 240fps and 1080p at 120fps but Recombu only shows 30fps and 60fps sample for 1080p :(

  • Omarion07

It is a very good midranger indeed.. But does this justify the 599 price tag? I don’t think so! 499 would’ve made more sense.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

    As always..
Here I compared same crop size of Xperia X and Galaxy S7 full res images:
    http://imgur.com/odmWixM

  • Vjekoslav Andric
  • Vjekoslav Andric
  • Matt

i don’t know . . im just a guy on the internet who hate to speculate.

  • hansip

are those prices official? i think the 2016 gen is all about bringing lower prices for flagship device, i mean look at S7 Edge, it is a bit cheaper than the S6 before it.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

One for you too, same size crop of full res image:
    http://imgur.com/odmWixM

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Im happy if they keep it this way
    http://imgur.com/odmWixM

  • Aiden Pearce

Looks promising, imo much better than previous flagships. Waiting for Sony to sale the device.

  • WHATTHE

I am sure, both X and X performance with the dual sim variant will arrive with 64GB due to the possibility that when working with dual sim you will not be able to put SD card.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

    Its perfectly fine
Compared to full res lowlight same crop size of S7
    http://i.imgur.com/odmWixM.jpg

  • ludimilojko

For Gods sake, Sony, just give us the RAW files, and we will decide how many noise reduction and sharpening to apply.

  • The One

You’re comparing two completely different scenes. That makes no sense!

  • WHATTHE

4k implementation will have a side effect of heating up (Yes even the SD820), now to overcome this Sony can easily implement cooling solution but it will “price up” the device, since this feature is really just a nice to have they thought it will be better to reduce the production costs and by that the device retail price.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Im comparing full res lowlight of xperia X, and full res lowlight of “the best lowlight camera” galaxy S7, at same crop size, with about same amount of artificial light and same colors, as to show difference in quality.
What of it doesnt exactly make sense for you?

  • Jun Yan

it’s funny enough to compare two images at different zoom level, it’s even funnier to compare two completely different scenes with different lighting

  • shenoy

How about 4th pic of the article sir. Doesn’t it blur?

  • mukul verma

by looking the pics, I am happy to go for Lumia 950xl, full manual control..good in low light. better pics than xperia x series.

  • DarkMaster

ok , any source ? where you got that info ? because everything I was reading about Xperia X states that it has dedicated slot.

gsmarena specs states dedicated slot and they had phone in their hands so I doubt they would makes such a mistake .

    http://prnt.sc/att6ry

so if you have any source that supports your claims pls share it,that info is very important to me .

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Nope, same zoom, just lower pixel count on s7 due to 12mpx.
As for light conditions, well, I do not have any other xperia shots to compare but, lowlight process is definitely working on xperia as is on s7.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Its off focus, it came out worse than others.
    So What about it?

  • Vuyo Ncube

Congratulations, you thought the X was the flagship. /s

  • WHATTHE

Sorry no source, I know this since I work closely with Sony. You can choose to believe me or not.
Soon the user guide will be released and you will see for yourself.

  • roeshak

X performance has exactly the same camera and knowing Sony you’ll find the same unit on their ifa release. Very uninspiring

  • roeshak

Not sure what to make of that but if it’s meant to show the x doing better than the s7 all I can say is good luck with that one. These pictures look very similar to z2s output and for me the s7e has a camera that’s in a totally different class.

  • shenoy

Just to understand, off focus due to human error or mobile?

  • Battel

Crappy edges & low light performance !

  • xperiafan

Very disappointing … I can not understand that Sony can not match the quality of the camera to Samsung , LG, Huaweii .. Since Z1 nothing has changed .. I am forced my xperia Z1 to change at Samsung S7

  • FYLegend21

looks like they are trying to compensate for areas that are slightly out of focus. Z5 had a great sensor but a terrible lens with corner blur, so anything slightly off the point of focus would be blurred and then the post-processing would smear it badly. The X looks like there’s much more in focus than the Z5 ever could.

From the demos it seems the X has much more responsive shutter. The Z5 has ridiculous shutter lag for a flagship which is beyond unacceptable considering all other flagships have practically zero shutter lag.

  • DarkMaster

Nice one ! :) I said that because 8mp gives better results on the Z5 than higher resolution for lowlight situations…anyway can I share that on other sites ?

  • ????? ?????????

    Nothing special….

  • Vjekoslav Andric

You must understand, Its due to Gods of Olympus diarrhea epidemia.

  • Brick

What program are you using to process raw files?

  • Omarion07

I think, and I could be wrong, that 4k video recording will be reserved for the proper flagship that will be announced at IFA!

  • ludimilojko

At the moment, ACR in CS6 and the DNG converter.

  • Mateus B. Cassiano

Sony already uses HEVC on some phones. Xperia M5, for example, will use HEVC when recording in 4k or in 1080p@60FPS…

  • Great Dude

It is the only one in the dark but I guess as you said it should be out of focus because that is so much noise.

  • Vuyo Ncube

Congratulations, you still think the X was the flagship when it’s using the SD650 /s

  • Jays

I just wondering how great people want a phone camera to be these day, i believe SONY couldn’t get it too. What normally will you do with your phone camera these day? update status on social media? and would your friend brag about your photo quality? i believe what they care will be the story behind the photo. I also think these photos going to look great on phone, print out or 4k TV (nobody going to zoom into the photo so much unless necessary). Things are just that simple you like it, go for it, everything has flaws.
But seriously Sony i cant accept that price tag…..

  • Omarion07

Off topic! I don’t know how reliable this website is but if the information regarding the X1 is accurate, we might have a winning recipe!
    http://mo.techweb.com.cn/phone/2016-04-08/2311600.shtml

  • RockStar2005

These brand new camera samples by gsmarena show that the camera on the Xperia X is better than what we saw above IMO. It still is not the final version though, but I think by the time it is released that it will be fantastic!

    http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_x-review-1425p3.php

  • DarkMaster

ok , thanks I appreciate your reply,

  • Wolf0491

I agree. As far as I know all this pricing is based off what amazon priced them at. But amazon does lots of placeholder things. Games for example get random dates etc before actual announcements. Wouldn’t be surprised if that price was just what they expect based on past prices. Of course Sony does like to price there phones high so I wouldn’t be surprised either way. If the X released at like $400 to $450 I think I would buy without thinking lol.

  • FYLegend21

They probably shot them with their hands stabilized or on a tripod.

Sony often emphasizes their SteadyShot but it’s only for video. The Z5 they used electronic stabilization with a little bit of sensor-shift (closed-looped actuator) for video only. They probably want to save space and sometimes OIS is “laggy” when panning (unless the system can detect panning) and give a floaty effect.

I just wish they at least make electronic stabilization work on still photos but that’s not as reliable. I’m not sure but I think in the initial firmware for the Z5 it also worked on still photos.

  • FYLegend21

They aren’t very good samples because the landscape shots are of trees that are fairly close by so you will inevitably get some lens blur. My concern is for distant objects in landscapes whether a wide area is still in focus – the Z5 is pretty terrible at that but the Disneyland photos suggest either the lens is much better or the oversharpening is compensating for slightly out of focus areas. On the Z5 it tends to smear areas slightly out of focus .

  • RockStar2005

I see. Well from what I’ve read about the Xperia X’s camera vs. the Z5’s, they say the X’s has the same camera sensor but with “improved camera algorithms” that result in better picture taking. Also of course, it will have that Predictive Hybrid AutoFocus which sounds and looks really cool too. I’m hoping the Superior Auto mode will finally be “up to par” as in the past (I had the Z3) it wasn’t that great overall. I always used Manual Mode, and will on the X phone I get IF I have to. But I’d prefer not to. lol

We’ll see how it turns out in June (ughh, still seems so far away! Tired of f’ing waiting.). But aside from no 4K screen or camera, the X phones appear to be an improvement upon the Xperia series (I’m gonna get the X Performance, though they both have the same screen and camera I believe).

This video details that more so. I esp like the part between 3:35 – 4:25.

  • Simon Setyadarma

Many megapixels yet the photos came out smoother?
This been happening for a long time, Sony.
Noises everywhere and I see distortion on the side of images.
Please, you need figure it out before it is completely late..

  • Simon Setyadarma

What would you think about Xperia X Performance? It has the same camera with Xperia X but with different processor.
It is enough to represent X Performance, do you think different processor will give a better result?

  • Steve

    Looks like better than z5p…….:-)

  • FYLegend21

Some people think it could be a different sensor so I’m not really sure. Even for the Z5 there was a whole spat on XDA a few weeks ago where some people doubted the Z5’s sensor really had 23MP due to the “poor-post-processing”.

My biggest problem with the Z5 was the shutter lag which is unacceptable for a flagship phone. Some of the Xperia X demos seem to show it’s much faster but it’s too early to tell – most of the videos have been emphasizing on the fast autofocus and not the actual speed of the camera.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

    Here folks
I did a little comparisson album between Xperia X and Galaxy S7, from photos available:

    http://imgur.com/a/H3rOa

All same size crop from full res shots, as much as possible same conditioning :-)

Xperia midranger is just better than that flagshipper ;-)

  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

Hmm interesting and I wonder that Sony’s skin is so light and they got less apps also and why the heck it’s using like 15GB. It’s so insane don’t you think.

  • Tibor Hornyák

same old blured pictures esspecially at the edges.

    bye bye Xperia :(

  • Wasted Reemon

Finally can see sharpness in these photos, wish Z3 had the same fuckin sharpness on it’s camera.. Z3 fuckin sucks.. worst camera!!

  • Afzal Zainal Rddz

Hurmm guess I will keep rocking with z5 a bit longer…
    https://flic.kr/p/DAMSwL

  • Ailan Hidaz

Yet the phone is probably going to be priced the usual Sony premium pricing… Meaning they might as well do all they can to give this series the proper functionality. I mean even the M5 has 4k recording and it was supposed to be a mid Ranger

  • Ailan Hidaz

And yet, as I said to someone else, 4k is available in the M5 and it’s a regular mid range phone…

  • Omarion07

Maybe it’s a change od strategy for their 2016 devices.. I’m just assuming here.

  • WHATTHE

Come on, 4K recording is useless and takes huge toll on the storage.

  • Omarion07

But Sony’s already planning to charge 699 $ for the x performance ( same as galaxy s7, g4, and htc 10) despite having no 4k video recording.. Let alone lower display resolution, smaller battery and less ram!

  • RockStar2005

Yeah I dunno. I think the video I shared (or another one I saw) said it was same camera sensor.

    We’ll see.

And what is with Sony?? See both articles below. WTF? lol

    From Feb: http://www.xperiblog.com/2016/02/xperia-z-series-is-dead-officially.html?m=1

    From yesterday: http://christiandaily.com/article/sony-xperia-z6-release-date-specs-rumors-will-sony-drop-its-xperia-z-series-sony-exec-says-otherwise/51352.htm

    Sony is nuts man. lol

  • pytajnik

    Sigh… Bye Sony.

  • The One

Correct, both photos are low light scenes, but that’s the only thing they have in common. You can’t legitimately compare the quality of two pictures that are taken in two different locations. It’s like comparing two photos of the Eiffel Tower, with one photo taken 100 feet away, while the other photo was taken 1000 feet away. If you crop each photo to 100%, you’ll clearly see more detail in the photo that was taken at the closer range. You can’t assume the other camera has less quality just because the shot was taken at a different distance. Therefore, your comparison is invalid. Just wait for the true side-by-side reviews to come out later this year and we’ll be able to make a better comparison. But my guess is that Sony’s performance will fall short of all other flagship devices again this year :-(

  • yuanhui502

I have to say that there are better choices other than this one at this price, in terms of camera qualities.
Now the problem comes with software optimization, instead of hardware, as other manufacturers using sony sensors produced significantly better picture qualities than sony itself. Why?

  • iia3ezu

Sony Mobile, are you making Compact and 5.5 inch phones this year? If not, RIP Sony Mobile.

  • iia3ezu

    It is already too late.

And what’s more insulting is that Sony makes camera sensors and DSLR cameras, it is not an inexperienced newbie in the imaging business.

If you can’t blame the hardware, surely software is the culprit.

  • iia3ezu

If photography is one of the more important features on a smartphone, and all your rivals are doing better in photography, how well do you think your phones will sell?

This was what basically killed HTC when it started with the ‘Ultrapixel’ nonsense a few years ago. “4MP ought to be enough for everyone, how detailed do you want your mobile photography to be anyway… hurr durrr.”

See the same line of thinking?

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Aha, this just shows the difference in mpx, preserved detail, etc
Believe me, take any shot from s7 and compare to any of X

  • Hahaha its so funny and ironic that people (specially Z5 series owners) are not accepting that the X series is the flagship series of 2016 and we are waiting for “The Flagship level Phone” which God knows when will come out but guys, please for God’s sake, give the X some respect which it deserves…
    P.S. a Z5 owner. ;)

you’re upset about the artifacts? i am upset that said artifacts have blurriness…. what was sony actually thinking on this?

  • ????

    how is that a comparison?

Sony is too weak about R&D
I just dont understand why Sony cant make the outperform smartphone camera

the same old creepy camera will drag them[Sony Mobile] down

  • Timel

Same old shitty camera (Sony stuck with it for years)
Same old design and the bulky bezels

    …Im so speechless

  • azzido

Hi, I can see no difference to Z5 or previous Sony cameras. Still the same quality and blurr on moving objects, please see the women with umbrella…

  • azzido

This shows where exactly X series is placed = below M series :D

  • azzido

These pics only ensures me I am skipping entire X series.
Sony is definitely not treating seriously cameras in smartphones and the customers of their mobile division in this case.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

    How is it not?
Dont have other material to compare…
If you feel unsatisfied, wait for real comparissons on the net.
I ll most certainly do the same type of comparissons then…
And believe me, the resulting difference will be the same.
    Until then

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Trust me, results will be the same. S7 has half the mpixels, Sony improved their software, and therefore this differences.
    Wait and see though

  • ????

    you don’t get it.

you can’t compare them because they don’t have the same lighting conditions.

photo comparisons only make sense if you are comparing similar images taken by the same cameras at the same time.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Aha, its not about comparing same condition shots… ,
its about Xperia making better detailed shots, which is seen by comparing same crops of full res images.
What is not understandable in that?

  • ????

because you won’t know if samsung s7 can do the same or worse. that’s the point.
you have to make the cameras shoot the same scene. period.

i’m an xperia fan myself but i won’t accept that kind of self-flattery.

  • Amir

Sony mobile continues they lousy image processing. They are insulting consumers. They are asking a premium price for this shit. The most high end xperia should cost like Chinese phones, nothing more. Actually some chinese phones produce better image processing the sony mobile. Same old shit.

  • Yakuzz

i dont why u guys kept condemn sony camera ability nad compare to other brand hideously but if u really have one sonys smartphone , im sure youll really treasure its ability to the limit ,like i do all the time.sure doesnt look steamy saturated like sammys. the rest quite the copy kiddies. mostly rely on software enhance, which i mean by outer developer and certainly another apps. sure hell never bent to dslr’s into smartphone size. check out 808 pureview if you want one :P

  • Alex Norris

    Good question! :)

  • Alex Norris

    OH, COMOOOON….. ))))))

So, two different crop from different shots, taken at different times, it is a common & normal practice for blind Sony fans.? ))) LOL. you look so miserable, i can only sympathize you…) You make crop from my sample taken by my Nokia 808 and gives this like proof as if they were a Galaxy S7… )))

  • Alex Norris

This is my shot! And it`s not from Galaxy S7 .. XD http://i.imgur.com/1vQqYIJ.jpg

  • Alex Norris

He take my shot, but it`s from 808 Pureview, but not from the Galaxy S7 )))) http://i.imgur.com/1vQqYIJ.jpg

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Well then, you didnt mention it was from your nokia troll
Here is your original post liar:

“And what you showed me … 3 small samples and one in full resolution with Mickey Mouse. From close range, each camera can show the same results, and even better.

Only in camera comparisons we can see the truth. If you hate samsung, well, here’s a photos taken by my smartphone
    View — s37-temporary-files.radikal.ru
    Hide — s017.radikal.ru
    Hide — s019.radikal.ru”

That shot was downloaded from last link

  • Alex Norris

    Like

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Anyways, it seems then that nokia 808 night shots are also lousier than Xperia X’s too…
You really shouldnt have bragged about it ;-)

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Yeah, It looks like Xperia does much better job at lowlight

  • Vjekoslav Andric

It tells a lot actually, dumbo. Despite not being same scenery…
People with brains will know what they are looking to. ;-)
Such a lame attempt to shovel yourself out of your first misconduct

    You’re look so funny now…)))

  • Vjekoslav Andric

    {facepalm}
First of all. This is Xperia X thread, not z5.
Secondly, why are you trying to convince me nokia produces betters stills? Of course it does, it is 41mpx camera. though rest of that phone is mostly lousy, including video recording.
And next time be more specific about photos you link, instead of going all childishly balooney

  • Alex Norris

    Typical sonyboy answer. :DDD
What distinguishes Sony Fans of other fans, this is the lack of thinking!
On Xperia X – the same 23mp. sensor IMX300, the same camera, Dumb Here it is night samples at Xperia X . It has crappy quality, and the same problems like on Xperia Z5

Turn on your brain, of course if you have brain…

  • Vjekoslav Andric

You are one freakin delusional troll.
These night shots, if indeed from X(source please), are not full res samples, and are even as such superb!

One should be intelligent enough to conclude that z5 dxo mark is higher than your lumias because of overall camera performance. OVERALL, get it?
Should I spell that for you, you one delusional lumia fanboy.

  • Alex Norris

None of your phrase has not constructive answer
Especially as these samples at Xperia X not full-sizes and if they were be full sizes, the result would be even much worse. You and similar guys, such as Bambuk or Ramuk, you can’t answer with the facts, you only can call me and Timel, Troll, Troll.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

You are somewhat a lost case indeed. You post quite excellent night photos, claiming to be from Xperia X, and just like that you say they are not good and there, you are done. And you ask ME for facts on these photos…?!?
There is definitely sth wrong with you and your perception.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

But Really dude, no need to even reply, we just keep going on in circles…certainly we will never agree

  • Alex Norris

Of course I will talk negatively when I see that a few years in a row, there is no real progress and real attempts to change something.. And not surprising why, Sony-mobile has, only 3% of the market..

  • The One

Despite the fact that megapixel count doesn’t directly correlate to image quality, remember that Sony’s auto mode only shoots with 8mp resolution, so your reasoning actually hurts your own argument.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Auto in 8 mpx?! Man, you are in need of some factual update.

  • Ana Heluši?

    Very good

  • The One

I’m not wrong, but I can’t exactly say that I’m right either. I should clarify that the Z series phones were limited to 8mp auto shots. I believe the z5 had a 20mp auto option with LP, but it’s back to 8mp in marshmallow. I don’t own that device so I can’t confirm at this time. I assumed the X series would be set up similarly, but since they haven’t been released, we can’t confirm that either.

  • Shamoy Rahman

Again with the oil painting quality Sony, what a shame. Its been almost 3 generations now that fans have been asking you to fix this.

  • Shamoy Rahman

Sony should spend more in R&D instead of maintaining their low-risk mindset at the moment. Now is the time for Sony mobile to take risks by spending huge in R&D and trying to beef up their flagships as much as possible.

  • Riccardo Piccinato

I EVER want to buy a Sony, than i see the camera. The worst thing is the camera: unapcettable. Really! Artifact everywhere, really BAD compressione. Please, give us RAW format and change compression….
THEN i will buy a Sony again.
    And OIS is the way..

  • Matthew

Yeah the artifacts are awful. The shots look nice until you zoom in, but look at the faces on the shot from what looks like a theme park of some kind! Compressed to hell and back!
