SW3 firmwareA new Android Wear firmware update with build number MWD49B is landing on the SmartWatch 3. This is a small update that brings security and stability improvements, for example, it appears that GPS issues have been fixed and some people are reporting better battery life. It looks like the reboot option has also returned. If you have updated, let us know your impressions below.

Thanks Adrián and Steve!

The watch is outdated and difficult to purchase at retail. It’s good that they’ve put out a software update but they’re badly in need of a hardware update to compete on the smartwatch front.

I would have bought the SW3 if the screen was OLED and the display was centered to the frame.

I’ll be very happy if there’s SW4 with new functionalities. Come on sony, this thing is almost 2 years old

I have since changed to moto 360 second gen because of the look and heartrate sensor, but sw3 is so much more stable than 360. I really hope sony can bring out a new smart watch soon.

I actually go with the Sony watch because I have no need for the heart rate sensor. I can never understand the usefulness of it.

    and hopefully a redesigned look

  • Matt

I hope will make better chipset and better 1GB atleast plus fetaures function (not big, stay same desgin)
But i haven’t seen today any better chipset on watch or not…

But Sony doesn’t have OLED and have IPS, eh?
IPS is more durable life cycle than OLED. (but OLED is more color saturation and brightness)

Xperia X performance in the iran?
    Why sony? Iranian loved sony.
    Please available in iran.

Shame the NFC chip wasn’t activated for use with Android Pay. But that’s an Android Wear issue and there’s no sign of it in the upcoming Wear 2.0 either.
Great that we’re still getting updates for this great watch though. I hope this isn’t the last.

  • Hideg Jen? Péter

I don’t like But i prefer square with HD, but wide a screen…
IPS has nice life-cycle durable but OLED is better sunlight contrast.
btw Xperiablog homepage is went down, but other thread is working.

    F*ck lori

Yoi do realise we are talking about a smart watch right? Not a phone.

Oled has superior power efficiency especially with always on display.

Higher pixel density is nice but if it comprises battery life it’s a no from me

  • Hideg Jen? Péter

Yes, but What i think screen HD with multitasking is would be nice. (my arm is quite long because i’m tall)
Agree, I was hoping making better 1GB RAM and CPU with handle multitasking, but yeah OLED is good but Sony don’t have OLED, but no? (still rumoring Sony didn’t uses OLED, I wonder…)

  • Boot your phone in safe mode: press power button, hold the power off option until safe mode boot option appears. Press Ok. Try your phone that way and see if it happens again, if it’s not happening, maybe it’s an app messing with your phone. If it’s still happening, go to XDA and ask there, or sony forums.
