in Xperia X series

Xperia XA Ultra USA_ThumbThe Sony Xperia XA Ultra launched into the United States at the end of July at an official price point of $369.99. However, it hasn’t taken too long for the handset to see a decent price cut – the official USA model of the Xperia XA Ultra has now been cut to under $300 at Amazon.com. Both Black and White models are available for $298.48, which includes a free 64GB microSD memory card. This seems like a great price for Sony’s 6-inch handset – you can find links for both models below.

If they learn anything from X series phone then they would put bigger battery in their next phone. X series phone are all flop devices. Next financial report will confirms it.

  • Sridu

Corrective action is good but it should have been preventive action instead. Sony’s product team should learn the basics of customer sentiment and pricing prior to launch.

  • Matt

consumer need to learn not go to a ferrari dealership and ask for a 20000 eur car

  • ludimilojko

Ferrari is a status symbol. This is not a Ferrari. This is a small electronic gadget for everyday usage, which will be obsolete for a couple of months.

  • EQ
  • The One

I’ll at least give Sony credit for cutting prices immediately on all of these X series devices rather than waiting 6 months as has been the case in the past. Maybe one day, they’ll release a device that is actually priced correctly from the beginning.

  • Matt

then buy moto g, problem solved.

you are barking at the wrong tree

  • ludimilojko

Did you bought the XA Ultra for 370 bucks? You didn’t? That’s all i have to say about barking.

  • ludimilojko

Nah, what’s fascinating is that you have the need to upvote your own “comments”. Seriously, dude? How old are you? 12? 13?

  • EQ

It speaks! Everybody gather around me, let’s try to communicate with it! Hello dear friend how you doing, what do you want?

  • Matt

neither did you i suppose . besides it has nothing to do with your argument before.

  • ludimilojko

I sure did not, why would i?

  • ludimilojko

OK, i apologize, i was wrong, you are much younger than 12. A 12 years wouldn’t come up with comments like yours.
But if you are older … May God help you.

  • Matt

    *facepalm*

  • EQ

Can I call you “Bozo the Clown”? Cause you walk and talk like a clown. Okay Bozo. I want to ask you a question. What I want to ask you is..

  • Raj Singh

It’s crazy that the Z3 still costs more than this XA.

  • ludimilojko

Me walking and talking like a clown? Dude, do you see your comments? Bloody hell …
And by the way, actually i’m in a pretty good mood. A few minutes ago i had a very promising conversation, so i think i’m gonna open a cold Leffe Brune and contemplate for a while. In the meantime, you can post some new pics and sprinkle it with your “intelligent” comments. Cheers, mate.

  • Battel

It call “Marketing” it’s a form of twisted lies, if the targeted price is $500 they will release the product priced at $600 and after few days later they will announce a big sale or a discount so people believe and buy .

  • Battel

You need to learn that Ferrari is not “Made in china” .

  • Sridu

    Hi Matt,
Thanks for your reply. Sony was Ferrari once and not anymore. Like Ferrari Sony had its own uniqueness the wonderful GUI, the glorious sound of the w series, best camera during the past, IP67/68, heat control sink in Z5 premium, power saving Stamina mode since 2011, near zero side bezels (from c5) etc. None of these are found in the XA Alpha(except the side bezel feature) and stamina mode.

So this phone creates a case where a Fiat Sedan was priced closer to a Ferrari and since nobody bought it, they realised and priced it back in the Fiat range.
Do you agree such a decision, would add value to an iconic phone brand. ?

  • Junior Rider

ah, I really hope that the pricing would be worldwide, then I’ll get one.

  • Bezels for the win !

UI is still the best , X Performance have IP68 , xperia X have (and probably Performance model also have it) dual heat pipes filled with some sort of liquid for cooling … so you are whining almost for no reason.

It’s still crying! Tell us Bozo how u doin ese? Is there still a.. problemo?

  • Matt

yes, nicely done ,points for you for picking apart a Metaphor

you must be very fun at parties.

  • Matt

you should learn that the landscape of android is changing . yes sony UI was quite good , but it was never the best of the bunch. you cant have fast software update and completely revamped UI at the same time unless you have alot of money like samsung.

sony mobile is dying , it tries to cope up some air. 300 really is a fair price for XA. yes it is not the cheapest thing int he world but the design cost , the development cost and everything is in there. but why bother with technicalities right ? just complain until sony make z5 premium device with 100 eur price.

  • KarFar

black one is out of stock now :)

  • EQ
  • Junior Rider

They should do it worldwide, here in Asia, i have not seen yet any price cut, at least pricing should be corrected, and when that happens i’ll be the first to buy that XA Ultra.

  • Junior Rider

I hope they’re reading our comments here. Price cut should have been implemented worldwide at the same time, this would probably encourage more consumers to buy their X series..

  • Junior Rider

But that could still change if they would price their product correctly now, I mean worldwide price cut…

  • ludimilojko

You didn’t? Dammit!!! What i’m gonna do now?!?!? What i’m gonna do now?!?!?!? He didn’t read anything i wrote, but he keeps replying with these pictures that are so funny and intelligent!!! Oh, my Goooooddddddddd!!! MY BRAIN GONNA EXPLOOODDDEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Nah, don’t worry, mate, i’m OK.

  • Sridu

I beg to differ here. Sony doesn’t have to focus on Xperia E, M, L, C, Zr, ZL, Z1 etc anymore. So Sony can’t give lame excuses anymore to its fans.
Sony is using the same Omni balance design for a while. The near zero side bezel’s were also seen from C5. In the absence of any new design, Sony should pass on this cost benefit to the end user during pricing and not by revising the price for one region after launch.
100 Eur for Z5 premium. I’m not that ignorant Bro. BOM for the device should be close to doubt of that. So no discussions further :).
My 9th phone will also be a Sony phone but definitely not an Xperia XA alpha :)

  • Matt

sony dont have to say anything at all. they dont have any obligation to involve so called fans in the way they do things, aside of software update.

good luck dictating huge corporation through personal user perspective without knowing the inner workings of the company .

  • ludimilojko

    You’re not? Awwww …

  • EQ

He is stalking me! I think he wants the D! Bozo, do you want the D? Btw tell your wife she forgot her gym card in my livingroom. Tell her thanks for yesterday and she is welcome.

  • ludimilojko

Dude, i just showed this to her. She’s not so good with english, so the rough translation:
“I bet he have a small dick, and didn’t have sex for a long time, cos with that attitude and mental level, not one mentally healthy woman would have sex with him.”
And now i understand the frustrations in your comments.
Cheers, dude, from her and from me. And keep posting funny faces.

  • EQ

You know I’ve been rackin my brain, trying to figure out who you look like and it finally donned on me.. You look like a Mexican Albert Einstein. Minus the genius factor, obviously. Want some yogurt?

Meanwhile in malaysia, price still the same.. shame on sony.

  • ludimilojko

So, she did hit the nail on the head, ey? Well (deep sigh) …

Yeah, cool, isn’t it? Forever …

At same price what they sales Xperia XA (RS 19686 ~ $ 295) in India…!!! The price of Xperia XA Ultra is $449 (RS 29999 ~ $ 449). If they sell Xperia XA Ultra for same price in India, then it will sell out like hot cakes, but they don’t do that and they only know to cries while watching the graph of the falling Xperia’s market share in India.

  • EQ

    You dun goofed son!

  • EQ
  • I tried this device, the regular XA and finally (begrudgingly) paid the “premium” price for the X. Its a great phone don’t get me wrong, but on “sale” for $499? I only did it because I had $60 in reward coupons for Best Buy and it was marked down to $499 from $549. I feel like I paid about $150 to much.
HOWEVER, the X is one of the NICEST trouble free phones I have ever used. It would be nice if I knew what features it had, as it doesn’t come with a manual, etc. I didn’t even know it had Stereo Speakers (quite low) and there is no waterproofing on this model :-/
